Long time fan here 🙋🏻♀️ I remember watching your videos while you were still in school and now you have your own space!! I am sooo proud of you! You’re killing it🩷
Your discussion on brunettes vs blondes is spot on. As a brunette who loves dimension, so many stylists tend to think everybody wants to go blonde and I end up with lighter and lighter hair every visit. You did such a great job on that client!
@@NachoAE360 thank you! Yes, I see that a lot. The placement and approach is the same, but they just tone with a darker color to make it “brunette” but it doesn’t end up looking right. It’s all about keeping that natural depth!
I'm so excited for you! I JUST found your channel by coming across a video you posted three years ago about your journey to becoming a hairstylist/colorist. And now here I am watching a second video of yours about the opening of your own salon! Congratulations!!
I love Good Molecules, slowly been switching every product in my skin care regimen over when I run out of whatever I’m using. It’s so affordable and works great for my skin.
OMG I wish you were located in Massachusetts. A hairstylist messed up my hair. I wanted a beautiful honey blonde highlight job and she messed up it was patchy af. I put a “darkest brown” box dye over it (my hair is naturally dark brown) and now those highlights are back. AHHHHHHHH
Hi Sam I'm new to your channel. As a more mature woman of 60, many of us don't use Instagram . Facebook is more our speed. Or for cheap advertising, find a school who is doing a raffle or ads in their programs and offer a discounted service for first time clients. Just a thought.
The thing about you, Sam, is that it's obvious you're a really good person. So people feel they can trust you with their hair. Which is hard to find these days.
that woman was so knowledgeable about the kind of style she wanted... and yet, it's like you still had to clarify in words her vision. that felt overwhelming and it makes sense people don't get what they want at the salon. there are so many details that can be missed because they cannot explain that they want "low lights" , "but not on their roots" or "dimension" but not underneath 😵💫 i thought i could like this kind of job but that much attention to detail felt like so much work. good on you for doing this wonderful work!
@@chantonaki lol thank you! And to add even more perspective, she’s also a hairstylist!! So it goes to show that even when you KNOW the terminology and what you want, a thorough consultation and confirming the details is still necessary. It’s honestly my favorite part of the job!
I don’t get clients off instagram, I don’t understand what to do … honestly I’m not a person that wants to be infront of the camera talking etc… I just want to do hair.
Hi Sam ! I have a question regarding social media . I live in a small town. Here almost everyone has seen each other, many acquaintances. How did you cope with the fear of judgment in the beginning when you started running Instagram? I'm worried because I think people will just laugh, giggle at my Instagram, like look at her, what is she doing there?I always imagine like people who know me look at my instagram with a smirk or something . I know that I don’t have to pay attention and just do my thing if it is good or not . But it’s too complicated . Do you have maybe some tips and advises how to be confident in social media ?
@@MarinaMG6 ok, and?? IF they even are thinking those things (which they might not be) who cares? Let them judge. It would be really silly for you to hold yourself back in your career because you’re worried what some unimportant people will think. Plus, people that are doing well and are happy with their lives, don’t waste their time making fun of other people. Remember that.
Wait, do you freeze bennys treats so it takes him longer to eat? If so, that is genius. My dogs inhale their dental treats, i wish they would slow down, lol.
@@catsav1 I keep them in the fridge, mainly so they don’t get moldy (it’s really humid here, and they got moldy once when I kept them in the cabinet), but it does make them a little harder, which he seems to love!

I think I might have to take a flight to get my hair done because all of the end results came out beautiful!!!
I am strongly considering flying there😊❤

Same issue. I really don’t like my hair, and every time I go to a new stylist is the same exact issue. I feel defeated.
