    Great reaction. Yungblud is very versatile and has a lot more vocal control than people realise. Please react to his Bowie cover of Life on Mars, you can really hear him turn the rasp on and off beautifully 🖤

    Great reaction and analysis! I'm impressed that Avril is able to hit those high notes while sitting on a stool cross legged. But then again she has done this before throughout the years so it's not the first time by any means so that is experience.
    I was disappointed in Yungblud and his poor mic placement as the mic was in his nose at times while he sang and as a result his vocals came across as nasal.
    Together they both sounded great though.

    I'd definitely love to see more videos about Avril, I'm a huge fan of hers and I loved your energy.
    You said she isn't Belting, she's using mixed voice, I always thought they were the same, but I probably just figured out I've haven't been belting. Would elaborate further on the difference between Belting and Mixed voice? (Or do you already have one? I'm gonna look right now)

    • @ZoeStibiVocalCoach
      @ZoeStibiVocalCoach  3 года назад +1

      Hey great to have you here! Mix and belt are two different things because belt is a thicker than thick vocal fold sound whereas mix is a slightly thinner vocal fold sound. They can sound quite similar but Belt is characterised by straight tone and longer held notes whereas Avril is staying in the one quality for the whole chorus. If she was belting that we would get tired listening to it. Belt is for one or two notes not the whole section ☺ I hope that helps? I think I may need to do a comparison video. ...🤔

    I personally think that a better Yungblud song to react to would be his acoustic version of Love Song that he released on Valentine's Day. Or you could always go back to his performance from BBC Radio 1 when he mashed up Senorita/Back to Black/Goosebumps, or even the one that probably led to him doing this with Avril, when he mashed up I'm With You with Cardigan on BBC Radio 1. He can sing, he can rap, he can get raw and even scream. Oh and he has a knack for harmonizing and being really in touch and attentive of whomever he is singing with.

    What you said about being so small and having a smaller larynx just isn’t necessarily true. I’m pretty sure I don’t have a small larynx nor a high set voice, and I am about the same size or even smaller than you. And Christina Aguilera would also beg to differ with that analysis. The being said , yes you’re right that having a small larynx can help you to sing high.

    • @ZoeStibiVocalCoach
      @ZoeStibiVocalCoach  3 года назад

      Thanks for the feedback. I probably should have qualified it as saying "could have" yes Christina uses a lower larynx position though to get the depth. Her spoken voice is quite high set. Larynx size is more about the timbre and less to do with volume.
      Avril just 100% speaks at the same level as she sings. 🤩
