What im more impressed by is that trucks can transport these things on the little pathways you guys call roads. Nearly every country road ive been on in California has got nothing compared to some of the roads you guys have
Hello mr hewes and the team! I was watching your unloading the arv vid and you mentioned Smith's guages. Theres a company in wales called caerbont instruments ( ex smiths employees) that rebuild and repair smiths and other guages, as well as upgrades and calibrating.
I’m enjoying watching these videos my dad was a sergeant major in the army. And I got to play on the tanks when I was a child in Germany. Although I am registered blind, I can’t see videos.
I broke out into a cold sweat when I saw the Cent ARV. I loved and hated in equal measures, my time on my Cent at 5 Skins at Padderborn. However, my Cent was the only one in BAOR that you could get proper fried chips in the penthouse. Ah, happy memories ☺️ 😊
Paderborn is spelled with only one “D”. Sunday night fish n chips in the 45 cookhouse was great. In my time at Barker Barracks the Chieftain Regiment was QRIH! The advantage of serving in the 15th USAFAD, was you could get your fish n chip to go and bring them back to our Enlisted Man’s Bar and enjoy a cold brewski with them!
One with tracks seems worth saving. Other one has useful spares, though someone probably used it for spares previously, engine tracks etc. Can't have too many Centurions! Thanks for saving them.
Commanded on with B Sqn 1RTR during the cold war in West Germany at Osnabruck. Worked well, uncomfortable as hell but so reliable always envid the yanks with their arv M88. Our girl never let us down.
By the look of that silver hood ( or bonnet) y’all have some big nasty birds flying around the tank yard. Jack will do an excellent job as usual tidying up the mess.
Enjoyed that, cheers. Never drove one but heard/saw enough back in the day in the shed next to ours. We had 2 x Armd Wksps at our location so Cent ARV's always let us know when they were hungry. Good job lads & lasses... 👍
Nice!!!! I would love to have the m-548, that was great camping and fishing machinery,us,it was ammo mostly, customised cab, winches, hiab, ribs, tarp, cots, sleeping gear, tools,,air grease guns, right top of the list, but you have a great project to do, an awesome piece of kit, I'd love to be in yer boots, can't wait for more projects you guys do.great instruction video, thank you!
We used to have some of those Centurions on the tank range back in the 80's when I was doing an anti-tank course. Not sure there's any spare parts left for you Mr. Hewes!
You just never have a good blower sitting around to use when your country has been bombed for over a year while your at war. He probably has one but the store that sells the oil mix for the gas was bombed 6 months ago.
Nice to see Ted the tank dog taking a keen interest in the proceedings. You have got some real treasure there with the Cent ARV's Joe. Are you going to take your nice room ornament and put it into the currently trackless ARV? Loving the vids, keep 'em coming.
Mat sent me and my mum here ... From rainy Manchester... how do you keep missing that fiat 500... skill there...but nooo loss great fun vid..loving what you do... N x
Having only just found your channel and not knowing a great deal about tanks ,🙄 I'm finding it very interesting and working my way through vids . One question, so far , the Fodans , big old beasts and bloody good trucks . Why has one got a white front . Keep up the good work lads and ladies 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Me as well just found the channel, it's amusing the shenanigans they get into with such large equipment it's a nice team I like how they work together.
m8 im not sure how may of your videos i have seen but its a lot. imo your RUclips channel is the best i have ever seen. carn't wait for the next vid. well done lads well done idd
Love the videos did you see the size of the albatross that took a dump on the little silver car that's having to go a bit I'd say. Great job on all the tank work funny but I got interested by a friend who got called to work on a few engines 2 on a boat and two in a tank on a tank ranch of all things and a fella from cross the pond happened along and was chatting a bit about the chieftain tank and the differences among various tanks including the super Sherman
it always strikes me as slightly silly, when i worked with this sort of stuff, we had the same thing go on at my company, a new piece of kit to play with, must be covered under a crap tarpaulin, its been out in all weathers for some years, surely a few more days will not be an issue, its just an arse getting the thing on and off and does tend to keep things underneath wet as well as Jack's observation, a swimming pool does anyone remember a few years back, the two 432's welded together, the rear cupola had a hot tub in it, wonder if i still have a pic of that, i forget who did it and where that might be today, any tips - Tanks-R-Us or Tank World rings a bell and has to be said, that's the first time i seen a telehandler used to take a hat off, Jack's a brave lad
As England anounced in 1960 they would stop making parts the dutch started the worn rubber blocks renovating them by vulcanisation on new rubber to find out later that the englisch would produce parts til 1972 for "the old lady".
Nice to see some honest fun in your videos, you are all mad as hatters but no different from me back a "few" years. If you love what you do, then fcukit keep doing it. Thanks for the videos - Ian.B. a Southerner..
All good fun and helps to keep you off the street. The poor old farmers in my part of the world have to make do with a Lancaster Bomber and a Mosquito plus a shed full of bombs, assorted weaponry and early radar systems.
What im more impressed by is that trucks can transport these things on the little pathways you guys call roads. Nearly every country road ive been on in California has got nothing compared to some of the roads you guys have
What a piece of kit that Foden is ...!😊
8:00 Jack is very chilled out about the JCB being on Auto pilot as he strolls back over to it, very comical. great Vid as always.

@@jcalohio I was a Rech Mech, so can't spell it but can f**kin lift it 😀
One with tracks seems worth saving. Other one has useful spares, though someone probably used it for spares previously, engine tracks etc.
Can't have too many Centurions! Thanks for saving them.
I'm impressed with the window full of easy start!
You should see the other window
That is a lot of Cosby sauce.

Brings back memories of many long hours spent working on Cents and Cheiftains while serving as a VMA in R.E.M.E.
Some broken smith’s gauges, not too much different from some smiths gauges in normal operation….😂
Didn't think that they ever reached normal operation 😂
Jack - remember, wherever you go, there you are.
By the look of that silver hood ( or bonnet) y’all have some big nasty birds flying around the tank yard. Jack will do an excellent job as usual tidying up the mess.
Oh god I want a Foden!!! What a bit of kit. Used to drive a 4375 RR Eaton Twin Split,,Alpha 1 with 400 CAT and Alpha2 with 420!!
8:28 such a cute painter!!!
Definitely interested in seeing one of these units brought back to life. Can't wait to see on in action.
Great set of videos, thanks for sharing them.....👍
Enjoyed that, cheers. Never drove one but heard/saw enough back in the day in the shed next to ours. We had 2 x Armd Wksps at our location so Cent ARV's always let us know when they were hungry. Good job lads & lasses... 👍
JCB with "I IDENTIFY AS A FODEN' written on the door. I laughed. Out loud. For a long time.
I needed that.
Next episode: the new state-of-the-art Hewes tank yard and maintenance facility for storing all the new incoming orphans!
Nice! Love it!
‘Bit of room for improvement, on the tracks’. 🤣😂🤣😂
Jack is a great lad. It’s obvious though that Ted is the supervisor in all this.
Just got to this video and had the same thought of Ted. He is the supervisor of the team.
Very clever to use telehandlers boom extraction instead of getting it's wheels spinning in the mud. Nice. 😎
I honestly would prefer the heavy recovery vehicles to the actual tanks. The HRVs can be used for their intended purpose were as the tanks can not.
Different tools for each job . Don't think the truck would last very long under fire .
Love the dog sauntering through whilst pushing the ARV, great channel…..
Great videos of these two love the forklift going on its own 😆 thanks
No mysteries there, Matt already spilled the beans! And oh look, a 4 wheel drive Foden.
Hi there Ted and Crew. I see that you have Twins (ARVs). Look forward to the out come. Mind your knuckles !!. JR.
that moved far better than i thought it would with the help of the second ''Foden'' ;-)
Jack, it doesnt matter if you win by a inch or a mile, winnings winning!
Top content again boys 😎❤️👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
You gotta love the Foden ...doesnt even bat an eyelid !!
Good evening from Germany thanks for the vid.
Good to see the Centurions being restored
Madness and brilliant video of quality.
Great first tank. 🎉🎉
Just found your channel I really enjoy your content. Keep it up guys
I did 10 years in the RAOC.
Red crankcase cover on an L60 is a 13A if I remember correctly.
You guys gotta get some outdoor lights for working in the dark. No simple task to unload that beast.👍
We used to have some of those Centurions on the tank range back in the 80's when I was doing an anti-tank course. Not sure there's any spare parts left for you Mr. Hewes!
Damm that yellow Foden is strong 💪 nice video again lads 🍻
Life advice for Jack: Get a hi powered blower to remove the dirt from the cement instead of dancing around with the broom all day
You just never have a good blower sitting around to use when your country has been bombed for over a year while your at war. He probably has one but the store that sells the oil mix for the gas was bombed 6 months ago.
he's such a buffoon.
Hats off to the 2 of you for that effort.🤣
Life advice for jack, dont eat the yellow snow ;) love the vids lads keep it up :)))
Nice to see Ted the tank dog taking a keen interest in the proceedings. You have got some real treasure there with the Cent ARV's Joe. Are you going to take your nice room ornament and put it into the currently trackless ARV? Loving the vids, keep 'em coming.
Dog's thinking "Not more junk?"
Great video guys
Mat sent me and my mum here ...
From rainy Manchester...
how do you keep missing that fiat 500... skill there...but nooo loss
great fun vid..loving what you do...
N x
8:00 he is a complete nupty!! you would think he would remember how to drive these things!! glad the dog wasn't to near it
No one:
Them: casually getting delivery of military vehicles

Me as well just found the channel, it's amusing the shenanigans they get into with such large equipment it's a nice team I like how they work together.
Beats me why anyone would want so many Crapturions. Fred in Princeton BC. Ca
Could do with some yard lights lol, or maybe turn them on! Great video.
Now this looks a real beast
Nice, I love a good ARV
Good to see you again mr :)
m8 im not sure how may of your videos i have seen but its a lot. imo your RUclips channel is the best i have ever seen. carn't wait for the next vid. well done lads well done idd
enjoying your videos
Someone has a Centurion/AVRE obsession and i can't say its a bad thing
I sure as shit wouldn't have parked my own car anywhere near the Recy Mechs and their Fodens at 1 Div! LOL
Love the videos did you see the size of the albatross that took a dump on the little silver car that's having to go a bit I'd say. Can tell these REME lads never put a basher up in their lives lmao 🤣🤙
Not all people who worked in the REME were in the army
i think you need to lay a bit more concrete on the yard it would make life a bit easier ,the avre is one of my favourites
Give it some beans Jack👍
I think when describing Smiths gauges you can drop the "broken" as it is assumed that is how they are anyway.
I am sure that you will enjoy working on both of them, even if it is strip one to restore the other. Have you ever taken on a Vickers Battle Tank?
great team 👍
As England anounced in 1960 they would stop making parts the dutch started the worn rubber blocks renovating them by vulcanisation on new rubber to find out later that the englisch would produce parts til 1972 for "the old lady".

Love the content
Love the white Foden but not sure about the yellow Foden 🤷♂️.
You got a way to go but plenty of fun to be had
If it ever gets apocalyptic.. it would be nice to know a few chaps with tanks.
It’s like being 4 again and watching diggers I love it
Delivery! Game on Lads!
Jack, god messes with ppl he likes the best
Foden is a beast!
Joe think you need to treat yourself to a new jacket
Another top video 💪
There's a steel post at the football field with a hole in it that makes awful whistling noises in strong winds 😂
4:42 I'm tired just looking at that, never mind removing rust, replacing parts & painting it!
Oh my aching back! 👍
The Foden getting stuck? Benbows used to have a 6x6 Thornycroft, god that would pull!
Jack should specialise in Elf and Safety👍
I thought the Fodens were 6x6? 3rd Axle wasn't giving any drive. Or there isn't a working interaxle diif lock between the rear axles.
7:01 ted's leadership got it going
You made my day when I heard you use our Aussie term "bloke"
We need more Jack.
All good fun and helps to keep you off the street. The poor old farmers in my part of the world have to make do with a Lancaster Bomber and a Mosquito plus a shed full of bombs, assorted weaponry and early radar systems.
Any thing with tanks in I can watch all day long good video guys
Looks like spare parts to me! The work to restore it will take to long and be to costly. Save the manpower strip it down to the shell.
I wonder what happens to the turrets from these ARVs because if you could find some old Centurion top bits well...
The Turrets were simply not manufactured because the Hull was designated an ARV version from the start.
The most important piece of equipment was and is the BV’s. Get a brew on Smudger !!!
Tell Jack to keep taking his Meds 😜
As cool as the tanks are, I like the ARVs even better (at least until you can get a main gun working....😆).
glad you're resurrecting the old girl
Watching time 😍
/advice for Jack,
1. Be good to your mum.
2.Never wave to anyone if you are in a canoe.
Jack, merry that girl 👍
FH16 REC - Crouchys have some mega gear
Problem: 10m in Iraqi gold stuck in the fuel system…. Lolz😉
Looks like a centurion arv
