No it is NOT worth it.....these prices are insane.....
For this cost.. I say they should atleast put winch and recovery hook in front
No, not worth it. Some might say it’s not for everyone blah blah blah. The question is, as the truck presents itself is it worth $75,000. Sure it’s a matter of opinion, my opinion is absolutely not. It’s 10k overpriced.
2023 1794 owner now. Absolutely love it! Not willing to lose my real leather, AVS,window shades, and all the other creature comforts! Nevermind the price, its a step down for sure.
I have a 1794 also and I don’t get why people would get a TRD pro other than for the suspension.
1794/Platinum are the best. You can customize them in so many ways 🎉
I’m not sure I understand the point of a TRD Pro in the Tundra. The truck is far too large in my opinion to be off roading to the extent of needing the Pro. TRD Pro is Tacoma territory. Tundra is about heavy duty needs, size and comfort.
@Seaward1224 every brand has an “off road inspired” half ton. Think Ram Rebel, Chevy Trailboss, Ford F150 Tremor, or a diet coke version of a Raptor
With the fox suspension, the skid plate, and of course the other add on for offroading it is a different comfort which is a different customer. They are meant for baja. The problem is overlanding is popular right now and the wide body, the approach and decent and the aluminum skid plate it doesn't do great in overlanding.
I like it, but I like my 2024 1794 Hybrid better. I paid little over $75k. I like black out for sure but the chrome on 1794 doesn’t bother me. I only end up in off road conditions going to NM, CO, WY, AZ, when I go trout fishing. My previous Tundras all handled where I was going just fine and I believe it will be the same in my 1794. It is Magnetic Gray Metallic and the color changes on it too, depending on clouds or sun and shade. LOVE it!!
Sounds amazing! I’m deciding between the 1794 and the Platinum. The TRD Pro is really special but the Platinum and 1794 are super nice too.
I prefer the real leather, power step sides, HUD, and other luxury comforts the 1794 and Platinum have. For vehicles that expensive, softex doesn't do it for me.
If you can afford, I would say yes. If you are living check to check absolutely not. It is a great truck manufactured by the most reliable vehicle manufacturer on earth. Proven performance and proven reliability, great resale along with great looks, I believe it is a good investment as it relates to a truck purchase.
Prices are sky high, and a TRD Pro w out tow hooks nor a step to get into the bed are unforgivable. And then, that fake exhaust notes, good god...
Easy answer .. no it isn't worth the cost. $1,600 per month over 5 years is slightly less than a mortgage payment. This isn't an affordable truck, it is a unobtainable dream for the average truck buyer.
What mortgage you got for that
Before the interest rate hikes of course.
@@iDisFatGuyyou could get a $1400 mortgage in 2017 on a $200k house.
I refinanced my house with an outstanding mortgage of $340k at 2.625% and my monthly payment is $1,389. Stupid prices. Happy I bought my 18 crewmax trd offroad package with the convenience package for $38,000 new. Never selling it.
@@iDisFatGuymines $1400. 2.6% refi during Covid.
Haven’t seen one in person yet, but guessing like almost all the special colors - video/pics don’t do it justice. I like the inlay on the tailgate with color contrast. Saw a ‘22 Solar Octane with two colors on the inlay - siiiick.
That question is very easy...Yes its worth $74k to the consumer that can afford it. For those who can't afford this particular truck, buy a lower trim Tundra. Toyota has trims to fit almost every budget. Every time I hear someone say they would never pay X amount for a truck, car, etc. I think that's because the one you would never pay for wasn't built for you.
TRD PRO inserts for the tailgate make it look more appealing. I have them on mine and it looks great.
Thanks for this excellent walk around of the 2024 TRD Pro. Dang I like this one.
The average past Tundra buyer is priced out of the Tundra Pro🤨
I’ve heard people say it looks brown. To me the orange/copper looks amazing. Love the black interior.
For this price they supposed add heating seats on the second row on pro
I love the leather and uniqueness of the Pro, but when i shopped i remember i tow often and 440+ miles at a pop, so Avs/air ride was the priority. I ended up $10,000 off a Platinum hv in San Antonio. Super happy with the purchase and capability
I dont know man…I can keep my ‘17 Pro and add a C7 Corvette for what it would cost me to get this truck.
Bingo, I can keep my 20 Trd sport and buy a procharged c6 ZO6 or ZL1 and have extra money still. No thanks
I have a 2020 1794 and it’s in the shop then upon delivery after getting work done on it the young kid that retrieved my truck side swiped my truck and did $12k worth of damage. So they gave me a 2023 platinum as a loaner driving the two trucks they drive completely different I love how the new tundras drive and feel but the price on the new edition is insane I couldn’t even imagine buying the new TRD PRO I’d rather buy a second home then pay the price on that truck . But boy are they fun to drive .
Still like the reliability of the V8 over the new v6 twin turbo. I purchased a new 2018 3.5 L ecoboost f-150 and had nothing but issues with it for two years
That’s why I purchased the 2020 tundra for reliability. So after that experience with twin turbo’s I’m not sold on the reliability of the turbo charged motors. I know I know there’s no comparison between Ford and Toyota I’m just waiting for more test on the motors before I go out and pay an obscene amount of money on the new generation trucks
Yes, i would put the Black overlay on the tailgate.
@ken, it actually looks pretty good in the flesh, and even better if you drive one😊. Swing by a dealer sometime and take it for a whirl - you might be surprised.
It’s very nice! Not my style preference is more luxury trim like platinum. This might too sporty but for those into that, absolutely! Personally I would go black on exterior color.
Still enjoying my 2020 trd pro. 29k miles on it. Still same tires. I have 1 year left on my payments. I get calls all the time to upgrade. Im good. I will splurge on the gx550 when my truck is paid off.
Yes it is! I’m very happy with my Terra purchase!
What did you pay may I ask and where at?
$74 and VA
@@Lyso1I just got mine 1/16/24 for $70K also in VA.
@@Lyso1I was able to get my Terra Pro for $70K, also in VA.
Hell No! Neither is the GMC I bought last year. Prices need to roll back 20-30%
Very nice truck and the color is spot on.
The Terra is growing on me, not as nice as my voodoo though 😄... Thanks for the video!
Mark do a nite interior video clip looks to me they added a few more ambient lighting on the foot wells I noticed a blue light where the pedals are located they must of added that for the 24 models little differences …22-23 don’t have it
Mark, do you think they bring back factory tow hooks, etc. w/ next year’s “trail hunter” package and where will that fit into the lineup?? Thank you.
I think tow hooks will return to most, if not all trims. Too much talk about them to not get them on the truck. If we finally see the Trailhunter, my guess is around the Pro pricing, maybe a tad more
Great reviews! TRD Pro vs the Platinum? My dealers Platinums are actually discounted. I have a 17 pro and always drawn to them. Thanks
The Platinum TRD Off Road would be my choice!
It’s for those who can afford it. It’s a status symbol. It’s a want not a need. So for those who can’t afford it there are trucks in the 40-50 K range that will meet the needs.
I’d put camo inlays on the tailgate. I would also want the TRD lift and the Performance engine mods.
TRD pros hold their value really well, but generally speaking a platinum or 1794 trd off road with aftermarket linear shocks and mild lift kit would be a "better" truck.
Looks nice
Mark had to return the TRD Pro he purchased due to affordability but got himself into something that fit his budget.
This is correct
The only thing I would like changed is the fake hood vents that say I force max. They should put the small placard’s like the Tacoma and Sequoias
Don’t the tires appear to be too small for the Wheel opening?🤔
Wish they made trd pro with 6.5 ft bed
YES, YES, same. They need the longer bed, they’d definitely sell I think.
What is your thoughts on cheap bumper and no tow hooks?
Tow hooks need to return asap!
It’s not about the price, it’s about value for money. I say NO.
Yes its worth it
Anyone heard what’s causing the main bearing failures in the 3.5tt v-6s? Guess it’s been going on for awhile according to the forums.
From what i’ve read, the engine bearing issue was because an oil cooling line inside the engine block was blocked or restricted, preventing oil to get to the bearing, causing a failure. Didn't affect many Tundras.
It was a manufacturing issue thats been corrected.
@@TundraDude34 thanks for the reply. Got a lunar rock limited, TRD hybrid being built in 2 weeks with my name on it. I got real worried when I read the forums cause that’s a problem nobody wants.
Black inset on tailgate for sure!
I love it what’s the price
Do we know why on earth you can't get heated and cooled seats and the HUD? Out in the desert or in a old winter those conditioned seats would be great. Might be better off with the Limited trim and up to get the goodies and then if you felt the need to add the suspension.
The Pro comes with heated, ventilated, memory softex front seats
It's the rear seats that aren't heated/cooled. Front seats have both, like the Limited trim.
No V6 1/2 truck is worth that. Sorry Toyota but your losing me with these trucks.
Nope , maybe if they dropped each trim 10k
Is it better to order a tundra or look for one on the lot?
Hi, you can't technically order a truck however a Toyota dealer can "allocate" one for you based on your options/specs. I just did this exact thing for a Limited regular I force crew max/short box. I spec out something specific and my dealer Koch 33 Toyota in Easton PA gets "lots" of allocations Givin to them so they have build power. Just put a deposit down and should see it in May/June. Just remember that you'll have to be patient with the process. Good luck with your search
Trust me I would love to have a TRD Pro. However I just do not think it is worth $74K if you could just pay MSRP. I have a 2023 Tundra Limited TRD Off Road and I paid $64K which was MSRP. My truck has everything that the TRD Pro has except for cosmetic stuff and front light bar. It is simple not worth another $10K.
It's only worth the price tag if, after 5 to 6 years of ownership, the depreciation value drops down by no more 10K. I'm a big fan and am currently driving 2014 Camry Hybrid, and in 2-3 years, I'm planning on buying a Toyota truck, which most likely it will be the Tacoma. I like the Tundra a lot, but I don't see myself paying no more than $60K. For me, I don't see the need for a full-size truck.
No. No truck is worth this price. Not even a raptor R or TRX should cost this much
20,000 more than my Army Green. Not sure it's worth that much more!
Just got my 2024 Capstone and I'm averaging 9.7 mpg. Tundradude34, do you know why? I'm still on my first tank of gas.
Something is definitely wrong. Take that into the dealer
Or...break in. Give it some more miles. That thing hasn't even finished learning its shift algorithms yet.
@@TundraDude34 OK Thanks
This is true, but 9.7 isn’t normal unless the operator is the heaviest foot ive ever seen 😁
@@TundraDude34 Sometime it reads as low as 8.7mpg. Got to take it to the dealer. Thanks TD34. Keep up the good work.
Love Toyota but these prices are Way too high driving a ram you get more features for your money
Considering what a 2021 TRD Pro cost. It is a very far margin from just 3 short years ago and they downsized the engine so imo no it’s not worth it buttt if you got the money then go for it that’s exactly why it is priced the way it is cause the higher class will pay the price.
Down sized the engine? The new engine eats the old engine for lunch
I haven’t yet started this video and I already know the answer is no.
If you can afford it, hell yes. Everything is expensive now, get over it
How do you get over something that's not affordable?
Everything is high. For what stuff cost yes if you want this stuff buy it don't switch tires lift and wheels just run it till I needs tires. Thus I think you buy and don't need to spend 5 to 10k on aftermarket
No vehicle is worth the astronomical prices that they are asking on any vehicle in today’s society. In 2018 I bought my tundra Trd off-road limited for $52,000 that was more than my first house. I would never ever think that I would spend that much money for a vehicle. I’m not paying that again if I could help it they have to come down to reality. I think an average truck price should be anywhere between 35 and $45,000 not that crazy amount of money that they’re asking in today society
Real truck drivers don’t need any cameras😂😂
The ONLY time that truck is worth that kind of money…is when my yearly income becomes my monthly income…even then I’d hard pass with all that plastic everywhere.
Love the truck but not a fan of the shiny brown color, i have seen it in person and its horrible however everything is subjective.
Sure I'll get flamed but I'm sorry, the exterior is not good looking, way too much TRD lettering everywhere....if you can afford it then its worth it.
Hundred percent Trd pro inlet
Absolutely NOT
No to me it’s not imo !
This or a Raptor R?......hhhmmmm 🤔
Nope. Waiting for lots to fill up & interest rates drop.
problem with newer cars it’s heavy on technology if EMP attack happens this car will be useless all components will be fried that’s your 100k down the drain
can’t even start it
You and I think alike, EMP. My ‘63 3/4t GMC 4x4 looks better and better - zombie apocalypse vehicle!😂
Absurd price
NO!!!!!
the truck is too expensive
No.
No, it is not worth it
Toyota is stupid. The average unemployment guy can’t afford this. I have no income and live in a shed behind a diner. Toyota needs to build a fully loaded maxed out top of the line truck and just give it to me. Or I could get a job and just buy something I can afford.
NOPE.....
TRD pro is the ugliest truck 🤢.
#1. Camouflage print is ugly.
#2. Short bed trucks look ugly.
#3. Priced over $65k.
#4. No tow hooks.
#5. Smallest factory tire combo.
