Some additional old gems that also work for a more vanilla-style modlist: "Evil Dead Trees" swaps some trees for dead ones around necromantic / daedric places and works with any tree mod. If you don't wanna turn the entire game into dark fantasy style then this one is great as it only does it where it fits the atmosphere the most. "Beast Skeletons" replaces some skeletons with those of orcs, argonians, and khajiit for the extra variety and immersion. In vanilla, they're all human after all. "Daedric Voices" makes the daedric princes talk to you when using their artifacts Also all of SlimeSire's dungeons are extremely well made. They're scripted and very expansive. Really spoky, yet lore-friendly. They don't get enough recognition.
Tip if you want the crows, by default they are pretty darn loud but they get their own volume slider in your audio settings so be sure to adjust it to your liking.
The opening to Clockwork spooked me so bad when I first tried it out! I literally couldn't believe I was getting scared while playing *Skyrim* ... That has never happened before, or since.
Crows is a must-have mod in my list since I found out about it. I have always had a fascination with the 'little black eagles', and having ravens where I live now is big plus! Another great video!
I've played Clockworks some time back then in 2016 or so, it was a fantastic mod and most surely it still is today. My only critique is that I don't like how it mixes up with Silent Hill inspired horror (not because I don't like SH but because of what I will say later) and some kind of home-building with Dwemer automatons, although the way the author did it is still fantastic, it's just the very obvious similarity to Silent Hill that bothers me. Still, I heavily recommend it for everyone, play it!
What a cute little mod!! Quite a few nice little halloween mods. I'm a fan of those Falkreath ones but I think I'm still an advocate for that Woodcutter's Wife Ghost one I'm a writer myself so I've experimented with horror before, it's a challenging subject to get right but with some practice and experience you can really make experienced players run for the hills. I found the most effective solution was to make things that can't be solved by just whacking them with any old plain basic weapon. It's surprising how many people default to "If I can hit it I can kill it". But I took it a step further and added a Life Drain effect to all forms of contact which means if you do try to whack them with any old plain basic weapon it's going to hurt quite bad when parts of your soul start getting ripped out of your body. Which in turn leads to higher chances of panicking, making bad choices and ultimately dying. My other ingredient for good horror is escalation. Things get stale after you've seen the same thing a few times and you start getting used to it, the magic wears off and people start thinking rationally again which is not good for me trying to kill off all my players. So let's keep making everything worse. Found that my Wraiths always attack you in straight, predictable lines? Good!! How about this Higher Wraith that can command other lesser wraiths like the one you just faced that's vastly more intelligent and can parry your attacks. You killed the ghost with magic instead of trying to hit it with basic weapons and getting your soul ripped out? Good!! How about an undead that keep coming back to life even after you keep ripping it to shreds so you have no choice but to run away while it chases you and tries to eat you. Oh you found that out also!! Great. I'll wait for a bit to let you feel safe then throw and entire stranded ship full of undead at you in a Zombie survival horror kind of fashion right out of the blue. And of course They're going to use Swarm tactics. You might have a super powerful one hit weapon but it's still only 1 attack, that won't save you from 100 In order for Horror to work you have to keep people on their toes, build the right atmosphere like "Why are there only small fry enemies and none of their usual group leaders?". Have things stay still until they get closer then quickly duck behind cover and vanish before you get there so you never got a good look at what it is you saw moving. Let it have full mobility and intelligence so the usual player hunter is now the hunted, Let it pick up weapons and learn so it can adapt quickly, pick you off and use your allies and their weapons against you. Let the threat be hard to kill and require a long thought out plan to defeat rather then just bonk it over the head with a big stick to make the usual "brave" players scream and run and cry. But also allow hope to prevail. If you add no light at the end of the tunnel then what do players have to motivate themselves to try again instead of just never returning? And make the reward worth it also. With hope comes bravery, with bravery comes an opportunity to throw something new at them and shatter it all over again as an ever evolving constant threat that just won't go away by leaving it. And if they do leave and run away make it do bad things like attack a town and massacre it, make it head along a path to somewhere the player cares about and add consequences if they fail to stop it in time and crush all their hope and morale Ehehehe sorry, I kinda ended up ranting again. But yeah horror can be a fun thing to experiment with and highly rewarding if done right. But it's also easy to get wrong by letting things go stale and putting no effort *Cough cough Hollywood and big company Game devs*. A lot of what I wrote above came off the top of my head at that exact moment but I still wouldn't release it, not without refining it further and testing it on myself to make sure it works. If I can scare myself knowing things will be alright and knowing all the ways through then it WILL scare everyone else a lot before they figure it all out and eventually prevail But yeah, sorry I wasn't around for the last video. I missed tuning in but I had the kids to take care of all week. It's good to be back and watch your videos again. take care!! I hope to see you in the next video Bard!! Btw, can you actually play any instruments irl? Can you actually be a proper bard irl? My great grandmother taught me piano and folk dances *She ran her own dance and music club* from a very young age which meant it was little 6yo me back in 2004-5 back when I had short hair dancing with women twice my height and helping play the music. Just wondering if you had any similar experiences

Also got the Vampire Armor Expansion to go with the clothes. Yay!! :D I was thinking the same thing with Immersive Candlelight, it's like the other mod but just a super lite version of it, and more functional. Glad you cracked :)
