THANK YOU for this. It was so helpful. My Zigs are getting a little old and I was considering just chucking them and getting the Arteza but I'm going to stick with my Zigs, especially since I don't use them as much as I would like to.

Thank you so much for your perfect review, i had been struggling on which to buy and you helped me make the right choice for my needs.
I personally dont like the sloppy brush on the arteza markers and also think the colors are a little less vibrant, so i chose the zigs 80 and have not stopped painting ever since i got them! Again thank you for your review and help! Much appreciated! 😊

I found the Arteza set on Amazon around Christmas time for about $30 for 48! I have a few zigs also. I appreciate the comparison- as I would not even know HOW to compare them : ) Thank You!

thanks for the comparison. ease of use has turned me towards these type pens rather than pan or tube watercolor.....nice to see this comparison.

The arteza has that pastel look and i love it. I never draw strong vibrant drawings mostly pastel

I received the Arteza set of 96 from hubby for Christmas. I'm having so much fun with them and find the colors to be beautiful on florals I'm using for cards . Love them and at the time got a great deal--96 pens with travel case for $63 from the Arteza site (although received from Amazon),

I do have about half the colors of the Zig Real Brush markers and love them. Sometimes I think I have to have all the brands but now that you have shown me the comparisons I will watch you and others compare different products. I will now continue to buy my Zigs with a little more love. Thank you!

Odd, I have both and prefer the Zig hands down. I realy like the way they flow when you add water, something not covered here. They both seem equally blendable to me, with the Zig outperforming the Arteza when you dampen the paper. And in the end, the Zig colors are deep and vibrant, and more transparent than Arteza. If you are looking for a watercolor effect, Zig is your go to. If you are looking for a product for coloring books, both products work.

Thanks for the comparison video!! It’s always helpful to know about these things...that way we make better decisions on whether or not we really need this product or not!!

*One thing you forgot to mention is lightfastness.* I doubt any Arteza products are very lightfast at all due to them being Student Grade. That's where the higher end shine most is how well the pigments and color hold up over time. It's like comparing Prismacolor to Caran D'ache, they perform similarly but over time the difference in pigment quality really shows.

Dragon's Muse they are both dye based so not lightfast

Just discovered the arteza, was looking in on them because "it looks too good to be true!!" Your review was really helpful, i feel like if i do get these, i will get a mix of arteza and zigs. Typically I like the original brand more than the cop out, but based on your review arteza has a pretty good cop out here!

Great demo! I have both brands. My question has to do with colorfastness. I swatched the Zig Real Brush pens a couple of years ago. The colors on my chart have faded considerably. I've only had the Arteza brush pens for a couple of months. Do you have a sense of how the Arteza compares in terms of being more or less lightfast? My studio space is in our daylight basement so all of my lighting is generated by daylight lamps. I primarily use these pens on greeting cards and art journal pages.

The price of Arteza are so much more reasonable than Zig! I find them both good, but Arteza is a company that prices their products way below many other companies. Buying from their website also saves a lot of money.

I just purchased the real brush pens and waiting for their arrival. I do not plan on using on paper but rather on fabric and I'm hoping that they will heat set with iron ... fingers crossed. I make fabric postcards and enjoy painting on the fabric. Have you tried it?

No need for a blender pen- it's water based so that's what is recommended.

I just received the package of 96 Arteza brush pens, which I ordered online. I was shocked to find that there was NO YELLOW pen in all of the 96 pens! Is this normal for this package? Did anyone else experience this problem?

Kathleen Dunlap I also have the zigs but I still think comparisons are very helpful....it's nice to see what's out there and how they compare.

So why bother to comment? I can't imagine why you'd take the time to leave a comment such as this. Obviously you don't, but there are plenty of folks who are still making buying decisions.
