I love what a gentleman Roger Glover was. Booted from DP and then accepted to produce and play with Rainbow. Don't forget what a monster bassist he was keeping up with RB the whole way. Awesome.
I've seen almost every tour from 1973 - 1987 plus 1997 and 2017 (BN). He was always extremely exciting to watch! But from the 2017 BN show, I respect him so much more because he shifted from being guitar king to being a past legend who advances younger musicians.
Two incredibly great albums from an incredibly great 80's era. Difficult to cure being my favorite. Joe and Bobbie put an amazing amount of energy and drive back into Rainbow.
That solo riff is STILL an absolute killer. The way he (RItchie) performs and plays it with ease, is amazing. I think this time of Rainbow's era was it's best.
@@neonknight-1522 just about all the singers that were a part of Rainbow were great in their own way but truth is to be told Dio was on a different level
My friend Mike had this whole show on audio, taped from a King Biscut radio show. I had never heard them before and figured it was some sissy shit with a name like Rainbow. This was about the time 'Street of Dreams' was on the radio. I listened to it, and the performance absolutly blew me away, and I became a dedicated Rainbow fan ever since. Couple of years later I was glad to find this show on video.
I saw this concert when I was 16 in Roanoke VA and I can see those eyes and spot light like it was yesterday.... I'll be 50 in Nov. :) R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio!
@ Blackmore GOLD!! It's just so f****** erratic!! Blackmore's a Madman on this song he's playing and beating the s*** out of his strat at the same time. ( his Strats were customized BUT there's no Floyd Rose or locking nut on that -it's taking a thrashing and staying in tune!) Ritchie at his pinnacle👍💪🤘💖
@@Epicusername0412 and Blackmore also used a reel-to-reel tape recorder to boost even more the signal, making it louder than it already was! Surprises me he isn't completely deaf by now
The very first MTV live concert ever broadcast. This was at the San Antonio Convention Center Arena, opening bands that night were Saxon(only played five songs, unfortunately) and then Riot(with Rhett Forrester on vocals- not Guy Speranza, unfortunately). wow that into is just intense!!!! blackmore was the best not sure why hes doing his ferry music now its like going from a hardcore lumberjack to a gay office worker with a pink tie. maybe he was afraid of his own amps and decided to stay unplugged.lol
Definetely vocals are way better in San Antonio and Glover...that bass. Overall I rather the sound of this even though the Japan version may have better guitar
ritchie blackmore will never break free ...listen to the Music of Oscar Peterson thats freedom fantastic technic and music from the heart ...blackmore will never enter the high of Music and he knows for himself much better Gilan break free and Blackmore knows thats why ritchie hates ian...long live Rock and Roll i love you ronnie
+ Jan Mennerich Could you explain what you are saying as it makes no sense. Ritchie plays 100% free and from the heart, he has the ability that few have that allows the music that you're feeling silently flow through your being and become audible.

He is still in Deep Purple.
@@kindchild2895 He came back but was booted along with Gillan by Ritchie before the Burn album which has Glenn Hughes on bass.

Rainbow 1982:
Ritchie Blackmore - Guitar
Joe Lynn Turner - Vocals
Roger Glover - Bass
Bobby Rondinelli - Drums
David Rosenthal - Keyboards
Несколько раз слушал! От Rainbow вообще без ума!!! Независимо кто солист!
amazing performance
Roger Glover was without a doubt the coolest looking bass player in the '80's!! Saw them twice in this lineup. Solid live band!
