Hard/ heavy rock.... metal, listen to the punching guitar notes, pumping bass and drums, incredeble synth work, superb solos, great apeggios, the stage in budokan 1984 was cooking hot as hell, the japanese loved it.... rainbow were in excellent shape
@davidmacdonald1695 to each their own. All I know is in a recent interview with Pagie. He said Ritchie Blackmore could blow the doors of him live and improvising. Ritchie is a better lead guitarist. My guys are Hendrix Beck Van Halen and Blackmore in that order. If you got Pagie in front of him, talk to Pagie, not me. OK, I stand corrected top 4 in the world in his day. Rock on 🤘
@davidmacdonald1695 blackmore number one. Gary moore , Micheal schenker, rik emmit, Ronnie montrose, Jimi Hendrix, early Nugent, early evh, srv, early satrianni, Al dimeola, page, Vinny moore, Terry Kath, Tony iommi
Rainbow blew away REO, Scorpions, Sammy Hagar, 707 at Colorado Sunday #2(1983?). I remember Blackmore whipping his Strat above his head, round and round by the strap. The feedback coming from the amps was tremendous. He played with such ease. No sweat.
Having been to no less than 10 Rainbow shows, Blackmore could play more notes in a two hour concert than most other guitarists would play in a career! And I’ve seen them all.
Love him, or hate him doesn't really matter, He has to be the most respected player ever. He's done it all, and is still evolving. NONE of the guitarists who people judge him against are as prolific at it all as he is -
Live versions can be different... What strikes me is the quality of the Mini Moog solo. It's perfect and almost just like on the album. Too bad David Rosenthal only gets the spotlight for 5 seconds after 2:55 even if the solo starts at 2:38 and is getting very flashy after 2:44. All the musicians should get the recognition they deserve.
Straight Berween tge Eyes...my introduction to Ritchie in 82. Before then it was piano lessons from my late mom and listening to her play and playing her Russian imported classical records still love Disco and everything that's melodic.
Sorry to reply 13 years after the fact, but I just saw your comment! And I COMPLETELY agree!! Blackmore was playing classical pieces in his work with Deep Purple in the early Mark 1 days! The beginning of Exposition is from Beethoven's 7th Symphony...reason number 10,934,198 why RB is my favorite guitarist on earth!!
@rickyon well in a an interview blackmore stated that he was getting tired of the same thing every day and was wanting to do somehing else, plus at this time he was going under divorce with his ol lady, the stuff now is what he likes doing, he also stated that he has been playing classical music since he was 11 and he could fully play greensleves on guitar since he was 12
Yes, he had a strong herritage, dio. I like joe, his work with yngwie was cool, great singer and front man. And - three records with the man in Black, respect
Blackmore had clearly started losing his hair in the early 70's, but here he has a big thick mop of black hair. And it stayed exactly like that for the next 40 years. No gray hairs at all - jet black. So its very obviously a wig.
JLT used a wig, he has some form of alopecia, I don't remember which one, he just recently revealed it publicly, so he most definitely was wearing a wig for most (if not all) of his career.
It doesn't seem like he listened very well because he did this type of thing frequently, playing stuff way too fast that is! It made it almost impossible for him to play some of the brilliant solos that he did on the studio recordings.
Dear Layla... so kind and fine. First of all, sorry for my English. How old are you? I think you can't imagine how long time I listen to this kind of music. JLT was the third Rainbow singer, after the FANTASTIC Ronnie James Dio and the excellent Graham Bonnet. He was Deep Purple singer to in Slaves and Masters album in 1990... the worst DP album ever. During the last Rainbow tour in 1984 he was supported by two back vocalists Lin Robinson and Dee Beale! That's all, Folks! I wish you well...
uaarh, i can prolly imagine a few worse DP-albums than Slave and masters, but in some sense youre right, its more in line with Rainbows style for the most part.
It's a little thing called sarcasm. I"m a drummer and we played this song live so I know how difficult it is at regular speed let alone at this break neck pace they are playing it at here. Blackmore was always worried about being the fastest guy on the planet. I think it hurt his playing a lot live.
Blackmore is notorious for speeding up tunes live and losing the feel --- listen to the live version of MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN from the Onstage album, '77... he completely destroys it.

Whether you love him or hate him, Ritchie Blackmore bought an original style and sound to the table..Classical/Rock/Blues...
excellent performance 👍
Hard/ heavy rock.... metal, listen to the punching guitar notes, pumping bass and drums, incredeble synth work, superb solos, great apeggios, the stage in budokan 1984 was cooking hot as hell, the japanese loved it.... rainbow were in excellent shape
Yes, exactly. This song is Heavy Metal at its rawest and basic form, and excellent!
Blackmore was known for his huge classical influence. You can catch pieces of classics from the masters all through his career.
rickyon l
GENIOS DE LA MUSICA!!!!!!!!
Yes ..... Specially, Medieval melodies,,,, sensational riffs... he is the Master! ...
Most european rocker. Love it
Toccata and fugue
Burgi and Rosenthal both playing phenomenally -- not to mention Ritchie, Roger, and JLT
I love Richie unique amazing guitarist 💖
Is he Burgi or Rondinelli..? 🤔
Here it was Burgi
Ritchie the best guitar player all times...He created the best guitar melodies and riffs of Rock. Superstar....
Top 3 in the world.
@@FuxerzTop 10 maybe…

I saw them on this tour August 14 1982 Busch Stadium Super Jam St. Louis with 707, Loverboy, .38 Special and REO Speedwagon
I'm a bit late to the party recognizing his showmanship but always loved his fusion of the classics into hard rock on the albums. One of a kind.
Totally, totally massive song! Great live performance!
blackmore genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! maestro of maestros
Gustavo Barreras . i have it on dvd . i like this gig too much. one of the best rainbow line ups.
Having been to no less than 10 Rainbow shows, Blackmore could play more notes in a two hour concert than most other guitarists would play in a career! And I’ve seen them all.
I saw them with Dio with Thin Lizzy opening. What a show !
Love him, or hate him doesn't really matter, He has to be the most respected player ever. He's done it all, and is still evolving. NONE of the guitarists who people judge him against are as prolific at it all as he is -
The gratest band that came out of Deep Purple familly.
dado zele whitesnake
Ritchie the Master
Joe Lynn Turner always had a killer voice!!
Pete Woodroffe Music UK
Saw them on this tour in 19 eighty something, can’t remember due to doobie consumption over the years. Was a good show 🤘💀👍
the highway star of rainbow
Genialidad en su máximo esplendor, un gigante blackmore
Great live version of this immortal Hardrock drive TRack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!§🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Live versions can be different...

Vimana got good career with Billy Joel, musical director
Cameraman was late but nice to watch Ritchie do his rhythm thing.
David is a Berkeley graduate and accomplished classical pianist. Huge talent!
Straight Berween tge Eyes...my introduction to Ritchie in 82. Before then it was piano lessons from my late mom and listening to her play and playing her Russian imported classical records still love Disco and everything that's melodic.
@Nastybutzky Thank Bach - the first part of the solo is taken straight from Toccata & Fugue
この時の大阪公演リアルで見てました。間奏の最後のブレイク、リッチーが手抜きできちんと演奏せず、後で東京公演のちゃんと弾いているビデオを見て残念だったのを思い出します。
ritchie is the best, especially live,.. can t take your eyes off him
the melody and sounds reminds me Mr big "adicted tu that rush", maybe i'm crazy jajajaja. Blackmore for ever and ever!!!
now that I read that, I can totally agree. it really sounds like "addicted to that rush" !
Good call....
The father of Speed Metal
Accept fast as a shark.
@blackmore7777fan And much much before Malmsteen even though about playing classical pieces. Blackmore is the father of neoclassical shredding guitar!
Malmsteen is a blantant Blackmore wannabe, obviously…
Not a bad thing right?.. The worst part?.. He doesn't acknowledge it…
Sorry to reply 13 years after the fact, but I just saw your comment! And I COMPLETELY agree!! Blackmore was playing classical pieces in his work with Deep Purple in the early Mark 1 days! great tempo, great performance! can't make it out on that speed , listen to the album version. cheers
This is too fast. The album version had a good tempo. This was too chaotic.
ライドシンバルが入るところが特にかっこいいと思います
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How i love it!
Till today I followed this family of purple, rainbow, whitesnake, Sabbath and even went this family go on solo...
Ritchie Blackmore, WOW!
AWESOME !!
God Speed!!
HELL YEAH!!!
Thats rock n roll folks!
Blackmore = god
Blackmore is great
I wanna listen Graham Bonnet sings this song!!!
OMG!!
Try driving the speed limit with this song playing in your car!
ジョー・リン・ターナーと女性コーラスで軽快な仕上がりだけど、グラハム・ボネットが歌ったら凄い迫力のある曲になるのでしょうね。
Some of the best playing by Ritchie.
He played better in Rainbow than in Deep Purple.
Rainbow - Death Alley Driver. (Live).
Straight up rock n roll
@rickyon well in a an interview blackmore stated that he was getting tired of the same thing every day and was wanting to do somehing else, plus at this time he was going under divorce with his ol lady, the stuff now is what he likes doing, he also stated that he has been playing classical music since he was 11 and he could fully play greensleves on guitar since he was 12
Ritchie = THE GOAT!!!!
Altro strepitoso assolo del Maestro !
You to bro....
kind of highway star nr.2
Crazy solo from Richie.
👏👏👏С днем рождения, Джо!
Joe Lynn Turner needs some credit... He is so under-rated...
Oh, yeah, I'd put him in the top 10 rock singers of all time, and hes still going strong in 2018!
Yes, he had a strong herritage, dio. I like joe, his work with yngwie was cool, great singer and front man. And - three records with the man in Black, respect
да полный звиздец...
stupendooooo
... great what he made on Records... phantastic.... but live.... only speed... without Soul....
listen to the solo from the outlaws shake with me
I think they played this too slow!
Is this full concert on RUclips?
Joe Lynn Turner considero um tremendo vocalista, porém muito comercial, pop.
As much as I love my favorite guitarist, I don't think that God would be pussy whipped and stop playing rock and roll ;)
More cowbell!
LMFAO!!!!!
Turner is great. I’ve heard that he and Blackmore did sport wigs. Someone can confirm it?!
Blackmore had clearly started losing his hair in the early 70's, but here he has a big thick mop of black hair. And it stayed exactly like that for the next 40 years. No gray hairs at all - jet black. So its very obviously a wig.

a bit fast, still rocks
@rickyon Are you nuts ?! It's like 1000 times faster than the studio version... :)
По скорости тут даже "Джудас Прист" отдыхают. Блэкмор - ноу комментс...
Pls play the song at its original speed. This is pretty common live fail.
Rispetto alla versione in studio l'hanno suonata a 300 all'ora !!!!
iMMENSO RITCHIE!!!
dat tempo!
Ritchie Blackmore is a god
Ritchie F$cking Blackmore \M/
The way it should be played (like on the album) is much better.
great song but too fast here
I love Richie black more. I of kind voice
Is it at nornal speed of reproduction?
Please, men tell me the exact day of this concert!
Is that Wadnuth Chutney on keyboards?
slow it down girls......
LMFAO!!!!!
Blackmore warned him (JLT),don't you dare come near me when i'm on fire doing solo!
It doesn't seem like he listened very well because he did this type of thing frequently, playing stuff way too fast that is! It made it almost impossible for him to play some of the brilliant solos that he did on the studio recordings.

@rickyon he used to think that back in the 60's but eric clapton told him to make it sound good but keep it simple
Great tune, but his original speed works better to keep the power up.
Blackmore is notorious for speeding up tunes live and losing the feel --- listen to the live version of MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN from the Onstage album, '77... he completely destroys it.
The On Stage version is the best by far
и соляка на клавишах нету
Как нету ? Извените ! , А вь| внимательно слушали тему 2 .38 ??? .
too fast version...
Шикарная тема,жаль что тока концертная версия,
Есть клип на эту песню ruclips.net/video/ryN3gG9CKF4/видео.html
JLT - maybe any other singer Rainbow had was much better.
But beside him - brilliant band. RB anyway has ever been the best
Love Rainbow, but their live performances with JLT came up short IMO
Much better in studio
Джони, водички с лимоном, в перерыве, итс 0кей👍😜
it'is too fast
БРАВО !
@SlowhandSolos clearly never listened to Punk or metal.
Todos los payasos actuales copian de la vieja escuela del Hard Rock y el Heavy Metal: Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden...
Way too fast ...
Too fast
el coro de mujeres es orribleeeee
