Alyssa Thomas was the difference maker. Game completely changed when she checked in. Stewie was unstoppable, and Sabrina gave Belgium the dagger with the 🤫shuuuush lmao great game for them! Go for gold ladies!!!🥇 ✨️
Alyssa “Chokeslam” Thomas moved so fluidly when she was chasing them Belgian players around that she looked like she was floating and dancing. In my mind she’s a top villain of the WNBA but turns out it’s wonderful to have her on your team, especially in a physical environment where she can lock in and shine.
Wow. This was an absolute clinic for how to play basketball. Loved it and watched it twice, One of my knocks on the WNBA is how the officials DO NOT call traveling or double dribbles. Players just do it with regularity. Aja was caught a couple times in this game. I still need to see more defense! I think they play defense “just enough” and I admit it has improved. Team USA doesn’t do well with a speed game- fast transition. Redundant but worth the repeat- excellent game on both sides!
Guard play was horrendous. Jewell had a couple big buckets, Jackie played some good D, Sabrina was a non factor. Chelsea I think came back to the Aces just so she could play on the Olympic squad. She isn’t ready. Sabrina needs to shoot more. Jackie is a non factor offensively. Where is Kah? The guards are having trouble feeding the post because opposing teams sag off them
Barefoot shoes are the best. And I actually think they are very comfortable. I have arthritis like pains in my feet, so for years I wore shoes with a lot of cushion thinking it would make my feet feel better. But when I switched to barefoot shoes, it drastically reduced the pain in my feet. I almost exclusively wear barefoot shoes now because it has reduced the pain in my feet so much. And I just bought the cheap $30 version from Amazon because I wanted to try them out & make sure I liked them before getting a more expensive brand like Vivobarefoot or Xero.
Man the next Olympics is going to be so lit in LA. We will see notable changes to the team like CC,Reese,Paige, Fulwiley and of course Juju. If KC is still balling like now, I would consider her as well. You definitely got my respect on your commentary here because Alyssa’s contribution was basically the type of things that don’t always show up on the stat sheet, but it’s important to a team especially in the Olympics. It’s basically what Draymond Green does for the Warriors. These are the players that are willing to do the dirty work that other players shy away from. It’s not pretty or sexy, but it helps to get the job done because it’s not always about who’s scoring.😳

I think the "Starting Lineup" is just for appearances. Reeves may start those five, but she is going to quickly sub half of them out as soon as the game gets the least bit competitive. Its just politics & a way to justify the inclusion of players who may be injured or at least are not 100%. Reeves knows half of those players in the starting line up will ride the bench most of the Olympic games. It seems unfair to other players on the team who won't get starting lineup credit despite playing much more of the games & contributing more to the team's wins. I agree w/Quita about the starting lineup, though I think Copper or Young should start instead of Lloyd. They are more consistent in their shooting this year and are more aggressive on defense. Young & Copper always defend the best offensive player on opposing teams. Lloyd has been a good contributor & deserves time, but I just think Young & Copper would provide more of the defense they need.
The coach is full of herself and it's her way or no way so it seems that way watching. She got the guards playing uptight. Gray and DT should not be starting and it's no reason Copper should not be playing
