  • A warm welcome to everyone checking out my latest RUclips video!
    In this episode, I share with you my thoughts on this 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR. The Evo X marks the end of the legendary lineage of the championship winning, rally bred machines. Using state of the art technology and the finest in Japanese engineering at the time, the Evolution’s were always carefully formulated and built to the highest specification for the rally circuit.
    This final offering of the Evo X is the culmination of nearly 20 years of research and development yet with each iteration it strays further away from the true Racing Homologation predecessors... So, just how good is it?
    Thank you to the owner Dom for sharing his pride and joy!

    Something most reviewers don't get to to cover - no loss of boost pressure between shifts. You keep your foot on the accelerator all the way to 5th (or 6th).
    Pretty awesome, if you're one who's had to learn to adjust for lag on a standard transmission.

    Onto my 4th SST in my Ralliart, all covered by Mitsubishi. There is a huge design flaw in this transmission, but I guess that's what you would come to expect from a 1st gen DCT.

    • @CEO8391
      @CEO8391 3 года назад

      stop launching, stop driving the car in normal put it in s-sport and shift manually problem solved

    • @McMeevin
      @McMeevin 3 года назад +3

      @@CEO8391 Ok, you clearly don't know what you're talking about because:
      1) The Ralliart does not have S-Sport unless you tune it to have S-Sport, it only has Normal and Sport. Tuning it to have S-Sport automatically voids the warranty and Mitsubishi won't touch it. I DO however drive it in sport though, never drive it normal.
      2) I don't launch it
      3) I always use the tiptronic to shift and never use it in automatic
      4) You don't seem to be aware of the plastic piece with the magnet that is attached to the shift fork purely by glue, this is the design flaw. If it falls off inside the transmission, you either get someone to disassemble the transmission and reattach the magnet to the shift fork with some sort of wire, people have been using guitar wire, OR, you get an entire new gear box from Mitsubishi if they approve it.
      Trust me, I have been dealing with this gearbox for almost 5 years now and am very familiar with it.

      My 08 Evo X MR is a whisker away from 300,000 kms on the clock, and has been running at least 100kw over stock for 60% of that. Not only is it still on the original transmission, but it's still on it's original clutches. I guess I lucked out and got a good one, but It's frustrating how inconsistent this Getrag SST trans is from car to car. It doesn't seem fair that other people who have looked after theirs as well as or better than I have are experiencing major issues.

      Original sst on my 2013 ralliart with 109k miles. No issues yet, but if a magnet falls of, I'll just get her built. No biggy

      @@EDDIEVOLUTION the SST has to be driven around in S-Sport or the lack of pressure in the clutch fork will start causing damage in your transmission. I got the car as second owner and the first owner didn't know that and had never serviced the transmission. I had a bad shift lever (I think? the thing responsible for gears 1,3,5) and needed a new valve assembly

      The RS3 is a fantastic car for the money, though it really misses the mark when it comes to cornering and pure driving fun. It sadly lacks feel and engagement apart from of course the enthralling epic noises and the crazy fast speed.
