I’d like to know where they got a rental for 4 days for only $100 and $50/person/day for food is next to impossible unless they’re literally just eating snacks
People have done the math and $50 a day for food is very possible, but it requires a bit of planning. Now, if you have kids then it is absolutely off the table, but for just one adult it can be done.
$50 a day for food? Basically a good quick service, a snack and a coffee. If you’re going to one of the restaurants where you need a reservation, $50 for a day for food is way too low. Most people will spend closer to 75 a day and many above 90. Disney prices are insane right now.
To all the people talking abt how expensive it is, while it is expensive keep in mind most people do not go for 4 days usually they go 1-2(state of california residents). Also if you live close enough you can drive and you might get cheaper tickets. You could also not get genie plus, and get a cheaper hotel! Price varies from group to group you could go on this trip cheaper or more expensive!
Still I mean they really nickel and dime you at Disney now a days. For the price they are paying you could go on a luxury cruise for a week and really ball out. Ornyou could go to Europe or youncould go to Orlando for a week and spend a day at sea world a couple days at Universal a couple days and even one day at Disney. For the same price that a 4 day trip to Disney.
Let me fix this for you all... you do not need lightning lanes... you don't need to eat all your meals at the parks... you can make sandwiches for lunches, pack juice boxes or water bottles and snacks. Have 1 meal at Disney and you can have relatively cheap meals depending on where you eat. These people with the rental car could have driven to a Wal-Mart for basic groceries that do fit in the mini fridge. I had raw pop tarts or oatmeal for breakfast. Anyways be smart with your money don't be irresponsible.
@@appropriate-channelname3049 IM GLAD U MENTIONED THE CRUISE. I literally went on an all inclusive Caribbean cruise for $500/person with a freaking balcony. Relatively cheap cruise line and bcs it was a family thing the tickets were cheaper. We did the math and it all came out to like $800 per person after excursions, internet service, etc etc. the only things we spent money on were off ship souvenirs, excursions, and treats. On the ship I bought a gold leaf necklace for $40 and that was my most expensive on ship expense… I’d be happy to take that $1500 trip and go on another cruise 😭😭😭
Take off the ridiculously priced hotel and stay off site and it’s only 4K Never understood the people paying over 500 for a room per night. It’s crazy.
I do it for my family because my kids are teens and surprisingly don't like staying in the park as long as my wife and I so they could shuttle back to the room and be back in a few minutes. It's all about convenience.
Exactly, I'm going with my boyfriend in August for 2 weeks and we're staying outside the park (right by animal kingdom) for $650.. so $46 a night = $23 each! I don't know why people say DisneyWorld is prohibitively expensive. You just need to make some very minor trade offs and it's pretty easy to make it happen.
Sounds pretty accurate. I took my family to WDW twice last year (from the Midwest) and the trips costs $8k and ~$4k, respectively. While we did have fun on both trips, my wife and I have our eyes set on going out of the country this year as the prices would likely be the same, but with A LOT more to experience.
It’s really not … tbh she goes to Disney as a rich person…. You can go to Disney with a party of 4 for an entire weekend and spend less than 3k…. The most expensive purchase are the damn park tickets :/
I'm doing two weeks there with my boyfriend for around 4k! That's including flights from Europe. It totally can be done, but eliminating the Disney hotel is really the key to making it affordable.
The only reason we have gone to Disney s few dozen times is that we live in Florida. It has gone so far downhill that it's insane anyone would pay 6k for 4 days here.
I was looking at my cost being about 6 to 8,000 just for me to go to Disneyland So she makes it sound cheap and I was looking where I'm the higher end 7,000 just to go to Disneyland without plane tickets now I got to look at how she got so cheap
You can definitely go to Disney as a family of 4 for less than 6k. You could also go for much more than 6k. It just depends on the type of trip you're looking for. Im from SC and my family has been to Disney 3 times in a year and not hit 6k.
Actually not anymore. It used to be. If you were to stayed at a Disney resort, the transportation system was excellent. Every 5 to 10 mins there was a bus to pick you up at the resort where you were staying at and take you to the one of the four parks. That was changed back in May of 2021. It’s now every 25 to 35 minutes depending on which park you’re wanting to go. Furthermore, Disney no longer has bus transportation to and from the Orlando Airport. That too was changed back in May of 2021. You either arrange for Disney to pick you up at $169.00 one way limited at 6 people or take an Uber/Taxi. Additionally, none of Disney transportation will take you off the property. You’ll have to get an Uber or rent a car. And lastly, if want to eat at another resort, you’ll have to make reservation to utilize the Disney chauffeur service however, there reservations are usually full plus there is charge, although I can’t remember what that cost is. The sad part is, 8 years ago, you truly did not need s car to get anywhere on Disney property. You could go to any resort or park in a reasonable amount of time. Their transportation was the best. But now a days, it’s a challenge to get around Disney. On many occasions my wife and I have taken guests to their resort because they missed the bus and we’re waiting up to an hour. When you’re exhausted and your feet hurt, the last thing you want to do is waiting for a bus. On one particular situation, we had met a very nice elderly couple from Tennessee, super nice people. When the park (Magic Kingdom) closed after the fireworks show we left and headed to our car. However, early that day we had lunch at the contemporary resort and my wife had forgotten her sweater. So we drove directly to the contemporary resort. As we were about to make the right turn into the contemporary, we saw the elderly couple sitting looking completely exhausted. We asked them if they were ok and they explained that the line for the bus that went to Animal Kingdom resort was full twice and had been waiting for over an hour. We took them and drove them to Animal Kingdom resort. This was their first time visiting Disney World. So, I’m sorry, I do not agree with you that Disney has the best transportation system. Not anymore.
It’s not worth it to me. The cost is far more than most families can afford or should even think about paying. There are so many more alternatives out there at half the cost. The two Disney places are nothing more than money-grubbing pits. Everything there has a premium cost. You can rent a cute cabin near the beach and have more family time in less crowded places, and not even come close to $6000.
My ten day trip to Tokyo for 3 people was cheaper than this 😅 Including spending 1 day at Tokyo Disneyland! Tokyo Disneyland one day passes are only about $60.
You can get a 10-day princess Cruise, from fort Lauderdale through the Panama canal. And back for around 850.$$$ a Person!!!! Disney is Fun But It's NOT WORTH THAT KINDA MONEY. You can find trips to Honolulu with air fare, 1100$$ a person!!!!
Holy hell. Went to DisneylandParis for 2 day, group of 5. Hotel+tickets for the 2 park. Paid around 750€ for the whole trip, travel AND food included. 6k is more than what we pay in rent for a YEAR. Guess I'm never complaining again about how expensive the DisneyParis is, because, apparently, it's not 😱
Annual passes even with the DVC discount is like $1400 a person too, and airline tickets from NY is more like $450 now if you use a quality airline like Delta
You are spending WAYYYY TOO MUCH. Like, ditch genie+, its NOT worth it. And the grand california hotel is also an average grade hotel with the disney logo, charging way more than the quality. You can stay at one of the nicer end hotels outside of disney and walk there, its not a bad distance at all! (And trust me, I'm an artist. Walking isn't something I want to do in the sun, so when I say its not that bad, it is tolerable after a long day on your feet.) This is how you can save some extra, if you are willing! You still have a fantastic full same experience. I grew up in a family that's been going yearly, since it opened. These are a few of our traditional techniques. I hope it helps someone, if anyone is interested in giving it a try! That alone is gonna cut the cost by so much. We're a family of 5.
I got season tickets to cedar point for 3 people. I included food and drinks. You can eat every 4 hours and get a drink every 15 mins. It cost me $950. I went to BG williamsburg. Bush gardens for 2 days, 1 day at water country usa, and 2 days at colonial williamsburg. Hotel with breakfast.$1700. Then, universal. 5 days, premier hotel with free express passes, 5 day park to park tickets, airport shuttle, and 2 breakfasts at the harry potter restaraunts. $3200. There are much better options than disney.
Im going in July with a group of 4 including me, my sister, my mom, & my step-dad and we’re going from Wisconsin for 3 days and the 4th day is gonna be at a beach not at Disneyworld lol 😂 I’m excited I’ve never been there before
You make it as expensive as you want. Value resorts are as low as 130.00, air fare can be cheaper, from boston (me) to Orlando is 38.00 each way and so on. But even if you choose to spend more, it really is worth it. At say, 130 a day, that's like 9.00 an hour for the most fun ever. Good deal.
Agreed, this was a misleading title and they definitely did things the expensive way. I have to also wonder why they would rent a car when it would pretty much sit in a lot that they’d have to pay for all day. Doesn’t seem smart at all 🤷♀️
@Oh Boy absolutely i pay that much. I fly all over cheaply. On spirit, fronteir, breeze airways, sun country, allegiant and jetblue. I also buy my tickets at the airport for spirit and fronteir...you do t pay the passanger usage fee per leg.
Save money by: Driving there, stay on one the Disney economy hotels (their just as fun), shop at one the Walmarts near the park for food, drinks and snacks. Get park hopper tickets through the hotel. And learn the secret parking places so you don’t have to walk far to get to the parks.
Tickets were like 40% cheaper than now. Food was also more reasonable. It didn't cost 20$ a day to park, and you could get a Disney hotel room for about 100$ a night.
In 2002, I took my family of 4 to Disney World for 7 days. We stayed at the Port Orleans Resort and did all the parks. I paid including food around $1800.00. I’m 2015, my wife and I went back to Disney World and stay at the same resort, the Port Orleans Resort, stayed for 7 days. Including food and this was only her and I that went, I paid nearly $5500. To do the exact same trip today, you’ll pay over $8000.
And then stand in line for 2 hours to get on each ride. So figure 6 hours of queuing, meaning you'll be lucky to get on 3 rides during your entire ONE DAY VISIT!
I go, I will just be homeless for a week. Eliminates hotel and transportation costs. Donations pay park and food costs. Souvenirs will be collected from the things people don’t want or throw away. Transportation provided by generous motorists. Hitchhiking as a family of 4 is always great. Who wouldn’t give a family a ride. Total cost 100$ Need beverages during the trip.
Yeah when I used to work at Disney, my leader told me that the avergae cost for a family of four that were not FL residents, from out of state, stayed in a Disney resort, and the stay was for one week = about $10,000 😬 Now bear in mind that was in 2021, it's probably higher than that now
6k for 4 people for 4 days. It's too expensive. This is why my kids won't able to go to Disney and they will not have any memories going there. This is a long term affect for Disney , made by decisions of well-paid Executives who will be working at Disney for a few years.
That is more than two 7 day cruises (travel and hotel included) for the same number of people. I love Disney, but their prices are unreasonable at this point.
Actually, based on those prices, $6K is low since 2 people already had annual passes. Had they not, add on the other $500+ the other 2 people had to pay.
I've been to Disney dozens of times. Not only is it not worth it, it is theft. There is absolutely no experience there worth the thousands of dollars. Yes, the cast members and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, but for that price.... Really ask your: what is that money buying, and don't tell me the Disney experience" like what do you get? I can understand the value from the lodging, that is understandable. But the actual hundreds of dollars dropped on the park, that's the part that doesn't sound worth it.
That cost as much or more than a flight to the other side of the world with hotels and experiences. Also going to Disney Parks abroad is soo much cheaper. I went to Disneyland and Sea in Tokyo where i got a day pass for each park and both equaled out the same as one ticket for a day pass in Disney in America
alr so my family of 8, drove down from the northeast, camped at their campground, didn't eat only disney food (meal plan + our own food), did 3 parks, and stayed for a week, all less than 6k
Respectfully, you spent way more than the average person would spend at Disney. Genie plus, individual, lightning lens, staying at a deluxe resort, and even renting a car are not essential.
every time i go, my family stays off site and it’s way cheaper. also, you don’t have to eat every meal at disney. i don’t usually eat breakfast (or a big one) so we usually get bagels or cereal/bars from like walmart to bring w us into the parks or eat on the way there. last time i went w my friends we bought little snacks like fruits and bars to eat around the park so we wouldn’t have to wait on lines and spend extra money on food throughout the day
Coming from someone who was down there for a year, the resorts aren't worth it. Stay off property and either rent a car or uber. Uber is very possibly cheaper.
then someone from California to stay on Disneyland property how much would a week hotel stay on Sunday to Sunday now that's the question I wonder? also how much is it to go to all four parks? cuz if I'm going to come from California I'm only going to go to Walt Disney world once
Don't rent a car, Disney World has the best resort transportation (buses, boats, monorail, and skyliner) you can get from anywhere on property (your hotel to any theme park, Disney Springs, or either Disney water park) free. Don't stay at a Deluxe Disney resort. Stay at a good neighbor Disney hotel or a value Disney resort, average cost right now at the cheapest value resort is $125 per night). You can go so much cheaper. Save on your airfare by using a Southwest or JetBlue Credit card and rack up points for free flights. Think outside the box. No reason to spend an arm and leg.
You can definitely do Disney cheaper than this because me and my family went for 3 weeks and I think it was from about 15 to 20 k and were from England so flights are more expensive and we had a care hire the whole time you can also stay offsite as now you don’t get the perks of the dining plan and it’s kind of useless we also went out almost every night and every other morning so this is unrealistic
Yeah it's expensive, but most people don't go regularly. For me its going to be a once in a lifetime childhood-dream-come-true vacation. Just me and my fiancée for a week for about $6,000. Something we're saving for and working towards.
I think I'd rather spend my money on a cruise at this point or a beach destination. Disney is combating the lines and crowds by raising the prices even further.
I as a family of 4 did a 3 day Disney trip and costed us about 10k. Toronto to Orlando and a good resort(not affiliated with Disney), we only bought genie for 1 day at 30$ per person for 4. Idk how u got it for 15.
My family and I go to Cancún for 5 days, flight included for $3000 and it's costly to us. I think I'd rather go there than Disney world. I do live in California so I could go to Disneyland but even that doesn't seem worth it to me 😭
I mean I like disney but for 6k you could spend several weeks in south america or asia on holiday. Better food, better climate, better people and more culture
It’s a lot more than that. How about food for Dave’s family of four gasoline for your car that you’re renting and anything else you guys wanna buy at Disney it’s more like 1,900. 2000 per person.
Wow I never thought for the normal person it was that much I have gotten in for free for years as well as a 60% discount on rooms/food annual passes and parking is free
glad i went from Australia in 2001 when it was USD199 for 3 days unlimited between Disneyland and California Park. Would rather spend USD6k on a whole lot of other things!
In March of 2022 I took my wife, 2 daughters, and future son-in-law to Disney World for a week as a college graduation present for youngest daughter. Between airfare, hotel close to airport the night before the flight to Orlando, 2 hotel rooms in Disney, food, park hopper passes, etc. It was about a $14,000 trip so about $2,000 / day.
Just what Walt Disney had in mind. An affordable park for children to play.
Ok
Affordable. Hoes Truly ruin the price
Lol

That is absolutely ridiculous 😂 Sane price to fly from the Uk and spend x2 weeks in Orlando. These girls have more money than sense!!!😂😂
For about $700 you can get annual passes to Knotts, Sea World & Universal Studios...
How did you do $50 per person per days? I would think that would be per meal. Please share any tips! 🙏
Love Disneyland and wdw but fuck it’s expensive maybe Disney should do rewards service like many hotels do on the strip if Vegas
Yeah when I used to work at Disney, my leader told me that the avergae cost for a family of four that were not FL residents, from out of state, stayed in a Disney resort, and the stay was for one week = about $10,000 😬 Now bear in mind that was in 2021, it's probably higher than that now
Thee BEST CHANNEL 4everything Disney! ❤
6k for 4 people for 4 days. It's too expensive. This is why my kids won't able to go to Disney and they will not have any memories going there. This is a long term affect for Disney , made by decisions of well-paid Executives who will be working at Disney for a few years.
I'm going to find me a Six Flags instead.
Yep.
Same way better rides and cheaper either that or knotts Berry Farm
Wow. My grandparents take 9 OF US each summer to Disney that’s insane (4 days total)
Sooooo, don't go. How can you have fun when you know you're being extorted?
We are coming from NZ not including flights to Florida. Flights to New York are $13.5K
oh man I have a 4 person fam and mine goes for a week! I’m gonna go thank my mom and dad rn
THAT was what i spent for 4 weeks in paris
Wow it's a lot of money you know $1,500 for 4 days you could go on a cruise :-)
That is more than two 7 day cruises (travel and hotel included) for the same number of people. I love Disney, but their prices are unreasonable at this point.
I agree with your calculations 100%
Actually, based on those prices, $6K is low since 2 people already had annual passes. Had they not, add on the other $500+ the other 2 people had to pay.
More than my week long trip to London and Paris for 5 people. Luckily, we live 10 mins from Disney so the annual passes work out well
I've been to Disney dozens of times.
6k?!?! Thats my whole university degree!!! 💀
So our 15 day stay at Animal Kingdom and Saratoga this coming Christmas would cost around $20k just for the room but thank goodness we own DVC.
She low balled that food budget a little bit
Or for similar price go to Tokyo and it would be more Magical there
literally several weeks of tokyo would be cheaper
alr so my family of 8, drove down from the northeast, camped at their campground, didn't eat only disney food (meal plan + our own food), did 3 parks, and stayed for a week, all less than 6k
Respectfully, you spent way more than the average person would spend at Disney. Genie plus, individual, lightning lens, staying at a deluxe resort, and even renting a car are not essential.
And to think we used to pay $10 each + a burger & fries - total $14 each ...
every time i go, my family stays off site and it’s way cheaper. also, you don’t have to eat every meal at disney. i don’t usually eat breakfast (or a big one) so we usually get bagels or cereal/bars from like walmart to bring w us into the parks or eat on the way there. last time i went w my friends we bought little snacks like fruits and bars to eat around the park so we wouldn’t have to wait on lines and spend extra money on food throughout the day
so it’s basically abt how you choose to spend your money while you’re there and what you want to do
I remember growing up and going to disney all the time. And $200-$300 would easily cover a family of four in the 90's- early 2000's.
If you don’t stay at a resort, don’t buy lightning lanes or genie, don’t buy overpriced food. Much cheaper
Coming from someone who was down there for a year, the resorts aren't worth it. Stay off property and either rent a car or uber. Uber is very possibly cheaper.
That hotel… well I can’t wait to be the one who pays😅😂
then someone from California to stay on Disneyland property how much would a week hotel stay on Sunday to Sunday now that's the question I wonder? also how much is it to go to all four parks? cuz if I'm going to come from California I'm only going to go to Walt Disney world once
I'll never get there again with my family from the UK. It's prohibitively expensive. Sad times.
I'd rather have a ruger precision 308
Being a Florida resident really saves a lot of money 💰
Also we went as a family of 6
Yeah it's expensive, but most people don't go regularly.
With out the flights we make 2 five day trips to Disney for a 2 adults and 3 plus 3 other trips to universal for only 8 grand
And this is why Disney is a business that should fall and make it affordable to people.
I as a family of 4 did a 3 day Disney trip and costed us about 10k. Toronto to Orlando and a good resort(not affiliated with Disney), we only bought genie for 1 day at 30$ per person for 4. Idk how u got it for 15.
Someone needs to teach you how to budget. I got a room across the street from Disneyland for 73 bucks a night
My family and I go to Cancún for 5 days, flight included for $3000 and it's costly to us. I think I'd rather go there than Disney world. I do live in California so I could go to Disneyland but even that doesn't seem worth it to me 😭
Man that is like six months of rent for the four children in my family not even including the extra two adults, I'll never get to go to Disney 🙁
$1500 used to be for the whole family. Now it’s just for one person? Omg!!
Man im a have hell of a time in Thailand, Columbia and Brazil with that spend
You right on .
I can't even afford vegetables in my instant noodles lmao...
for that money my family went all the way to japan (from europe) and stayed for over two weeks going across the country this is insane for 4 days
I mean I like disney but for 6k you could spend several weeks in south america or asia on holiday. Better food, better climate, better people and more culture
If your having a hard time making it day to day. Spending 6000.00 for a Disney trip is unimaginable !!!
It’s a lot more than that. How about food for Dave’s family of four gasoline for your car that you’re renting and anything else you guys wanna buy at Disney it’s more like 1,900. 2000 per person.
Same people complaining about not being able to pay student loans or that groceries are too expensive....smh
That’s like how much the plane costs to go from England to Australia wow
Only $6k? Oh! Let me buy my tickets 🎫 right now!
My rent & bills can wait.
I’m sure Walt would be so proud. 😊
A car??? I thought the purpose of staying in a hotel in World Disney World itself is, that you easily can go to the parks.
Wow I never thought for the normal person it was that much I have gotten in for free for years as well as a 60% discount on rooms/food annual passes and parking is free
$50 per day per person on food at Disney?? I'M CALLING 🎩🧢🎓🤠
glad i went from Australia in 2001 when it was USD199 for 3 days unlimited between Disneyland and California Park. Would rather spend USD6k on a whole lot of other things!
So no inclusion of the annual pass and $50 per day for food is under estimated.
I didn’t realize tickets were that expensive
I went on a three week trip to Europe for $3500… don’t get me wrong, I’d love to go to Disney but uh 😦
As a dutch person that has been to high end theme parks but never Disney. I think this is reasonable except for the park entrance cost.
$250 for flights from the East Coast? What, one way? What year was this? 1990?
It is quite pricey, but if you are comfortably able to afford it, it is 100% worth it. My trip there was the best 3 days of my life!
Car rental prices are way higher then that right now.
Getting rid of travel and renting a car it’s 4,900 so for locals that’s not as bad!
