While Cousins definitely did not win over Atlanta fans with his play, two things definitely played a factor into his poor performance: 1. The OC made insanely predictable playcalls and didn't put them into position for any play action passes. 2. No adjustments were made to address the Steelers' D breaking through more often as the game went on. Kaleb McGary was practically a turnstile out there, so Cousins was bound to be sacked as he remained in the pocket.

Yes, Atlanta has a problem, but if you're honest, no QB is going to be successful passing when they can't get past their first read. The entire offense wasn't prepared to run the plays they did in the second half, they did better the first half. You guys were expecting MVP play from a dude who hasn't played in 10 months, and whos O'line got manhandled the entire game, with no adjustments from coaches. New offense, new coaches, new team, and no preseason. Maybe you should be calling out Morris for not having his team ready.
Imo Arthur blank told someone to go for it because he’s not getting any younger. In the past the falcons would never spend so much to win now. They would waste all their first round draft capital on guys to catch balls, bring in old guys, always b league. Since 1968 anyway..
Everyone needs to calm down jesus. Week 1 hasn't played football since like week 7 last year and Atlanta went up against a top 10 defense with a 1st time play caller. Kirk looked rusty but the game was full of week 1 miscues. Oline struggled I mean center snapped it into one guy in motion killing a good drive. As a Bucs fan. Most of us are okay with all these people disrespecting Tampa. It fuels Baker. It fuels most of the team.
@@Magdalena8008s hell yeah
theyre not even better than the saints

He is not ready and management knows it ! Bad for the fans management is a 28 to 3 moment. What happen Sunday it’s because of you management only and you know better.
Offensive line has holes at center and Right tackle...Dalhman assss Mcgary assss
i do think kirk really had to get the ball off quick bc of tj watt and steelers defense in general. we have to wait and see how he does against defenses that dont put up so much pressure.
From seeing Kirk on the Vikings. I feel so bad watching him get destroyed.
I wonder why they drafted an insurance policy.
You sounds like the RUclipsr, oompaville
The Falcons are gonna have the most expensive backup QB on their roster next year LOL. Kirk took it for granted that the Vikings finally made him look good, but it was the team and the system. Not him.
A bad Qback he needs to go. Why get a hurt man and pay him that much???
The Kirk Cousins Experience
I'm sorry, ATL. This man will make you hate Sundays.
Every throw looks painful
If Cousins is injured they need too be playing Penix now instead of waiting
13 year 2-4 playoff vet coming off worst career injury, lets give him $180 million!😂
But $300 million career contract Ryan won 4 playoff games in 15 years so poverty franchise had low expectations😅
Exactly... the OWNER signed off on this bad decision. They deserve to lose
Kirks best weapon is play action….. Play action opens up kirks game so he definitely needs to be using it….
Kirk was never known to extend plays tho
you probably feel silly now after watching last nights game
MPJ isnt making that game winning drive
:)
No healthy the injury is still there you can see his movements in pratice, in the game, its even in his walk wstch the pratice films he' playing scare just like Pitts did when he return. Coach needs to watch him and see for himself
I mean he was going against the top defense in the league. It was also the first game of the season, so everyone is rusty.
While Cousins definitely did not win over Atlanta fans with his play, two things definitely played a factor into his poor performance:
I’m a saints fan. Falcons will probably go 0-3 MAX then go on like a 8-9 game win streak. I got the birds on my future parlay 🤣
There is nothing wrong with Kirk and the Rams run the same pistol formation with Stafford but they could have ran more play action plays under center.
in this video, Kirk didn't want to plant his right leg when he threw. Maybe he wasn't ready at that time?😮 I don't think he's healed
at this time yet.
Falcons fan here we do not have a top 5 offensive line our center is undersized and terrible or right tackle sucked ever since he was drafted in 2019 the only good lineman we got is lindstrom and jake mattews
It’s still all hype though I watched the game and not even worried about Kirk he was fine I want him throwing not getting sacked
I have to disagree with Penix going later, Raiders could’ve picked him up. Realistically having Bowers is good, but no one to throw him, Adams, or Meyers the ball is worse.
he limping in training camp, im mad i didnt see this.
It’s always funny to see ppl lose their minds week 1 of the nfl.. especially in this case.. cousins was having an mvp season then tore his Achilles.. he hasn’t played since and now he’s at a new team with new coaches.. this is his first game back give the guy some time jeez.. plus the Steelers defense is and always has been legit with one of the best players defensive players and former DPOY TJ Watt..
Defense didn’t allow a Touchdown what more do you want from them 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Falcons defense ain’t the problem
Can you blame kirk when the o line couldn't stop the Steelers d line and tj watt?
Atlanta should try starting Penix
Cousins is a good regular season QB. I’m an Eagles fan and I always feel like Cousins can hurt you, but at the end of the day he will fold. I’m hoping to see that Monday. That being said, he looked so bad against the Steelers, that now I’m thinking that he may not even be able to hurt you. Granted the Steelers have one of the best defenses in the league. You can just see that Cousins can’t move or won’t, and is afraid. I’m not sure if he’s physically hurt, but mentally he is.
Also didn’t help the Oline couldn’t block a runny nose
Enjoy the next 2 seasons of coin flip games.
Nah don't try to jump off that falcon bandwagon now... ATL starting off 0-2 and possibly 0-4 plus... After all y'all said they would win the south and maybe the superbowl... Go ahead and crown the falcons, aka the "on paper champs" 😭🤣🤣
These guys always talk about penix whenever they do a video, I swear I'm going crazy hearing the same song and dance every single video
So we’re gonna blame Kirk cousins and not the coaching on stopping JJ Watt? They played the most predictable game regardless if they were protecting Kirk cousins or not and it’s their fault.
Saying Penix being picked at 8 was absurd, that’s dumb as hell. Penix might be the best QB in the 2024 class.
As a season ticket holder I was mad as F&$K!!!🤬 Looks like the same old crap! And the O Line sucks too!!! I left before the game was over😡
Penix did not go too early the raiders literally said they were devastated he wasn’t there when they picked so idk wtf u talkin bout. Look it up
Dude, You want to compare a rookie qb with a 13 yr qb?😮
Everyone needs to calm down jesus. Week 1 hasn't played football since like week 7 last year and Atlanta went up against a top 10 defense with a 1st time play caller. Kirk looked rusty but the game was full of week 1 miscues. Oline struggled I mean center snapped it into one guy in motion killing a good drive. Take a deep breath the falcons and cousins will be fine
Let’s not pretend professional evaluators, coaches and performance specialists haven’t been watching him all off season…. He’s fine.
Lol he looks stiffer than cardboard...Cant move worth a damn no mobility
The gameplan that they used for the game would suggest differently. Not a single play action was called, and that's where Cousins made his career. That alone says that the achilles is still a problem.
@@deanladue5367 That's doofus Arthur Blank and Rich McKay...They signed him in the off-season and were doing interviews saying they were steering the team...They have no idea wtf they are doing...Once Alex mack retired they should have got Ben Jones at center...Dalhman suxs ass he's just like McGary
QBs over 35 have been historically bad after tearing their Achilles a rod could be the outlier but real ones know that Kirk isn’t and penix was the right pick realistically penix has the ability to be the best qb from this draft his football iq and intermediate passing ability will separate him from the competition
Kirk was doo doo in washington 😂😂😂
put in penix and trade cousins when hes healthy
