I like the IDEA of Uncharted stuff but they way overcharge ($400 - $600) for what you get. You can literally buy all they stuff inside and have enough to get a Vanquest bag for the same price (you can get a bug out roll for the organization). Uncharted isn’t giving you high quality stuff here - except the sawyer, sawyer is solid but also inexpensive. (The things inside the kit will run you about $100). I realize you’re here to show products, and you’re doing a great job. In this bad economy, this is a tough sell unfortunately for the price they charge when you can Amazon stuff for so much less. Good vid

Paul - I’m the founder and designed this kit. This is always the response we get ‘it’s expensive’ or ‘it’s cheap crap’. The reality is, we’ve tested every piece in this kit to perform to a standard set by our team, but also not included the most expensive options available. The idea is something that absolutely works without being too expensive. There are many other brands selling stuff out there that is a flat out dangerous. Poor quality bags, cheap paper air masks, and single use toss away stuff. That is not what you’re getting here. You mentioned the Sawyer. We also include an N99 air mask with a second filter, a Nalgene brand bottle, silicone and nitrile dipped gloves, waterproof flashlight and the list goes on. Quite simply, we are a business and so we have to make some type of profi, but it’s very tough to buy a kit of this quality as an individual and match the price. We check all the time.

@@christianschauf3237 nope that is ridiculously overpriced.
The real truth nothing in this aside from the water filter is really needed. Everything else is just junk you'd never use.
I always wonder who really buys something like this?
Maybe I'm jaded because of my training. I was taught the better you are the less you need.
Then after living in Florida through many hurricanes and Maryland during extreme blizzard.
My most important things was a knife a first aid kit. Proper clothes. And a lighter (zippo)

Not a bad pre-made kit. You can always add to it, as well. People give pre-made kits a hard time, but they can be great starting tools to get people prepared immediately, and helping them understand their needs so they can change it up as they go. Thanks for sharing!

Great kit. Most people don't have time to do the research and put together an emergency kit. Especially if they have a nine to five job with children Etc. This is good for those type of people. It would be interesting to see two different types of bags. One for people who live out of the city and one for people who live within major cities. As an example I don't need a shovel in a city trying to get back home to the suburbs. But if I'm in the suburbs and I have to get home to the country then I need a shovel. I've never seen one single company that makes two different variety of kits one for Rural and one for Urban. Hint hint. My kits are designed for city/ suburbs. A lady I know asked me years ago how to put together one of these kits but she works non-stop all day long and it would be impossible for her to put one of these together. This is perfect for her except for the shovel, ha.

If yer swapping half the kit out, especially the tools, does it really pay to buy the kit in the first place? We have a Dollar store in Canada called Dollarama. It has most of this stuff for $5 or less. A few things you can't get, the sawyer filter, the knife (which is garbage anyway) the ferro rod (but I can get a mag bar with a ferro rod on the side.) Got the same shovel (43 CAD) same flashlight ($4 CAD) hat mitts couple bucks a peice. I got hatchets and folding saw and bow saws. I got a 10L dry bag, I got a backpack. everything else in the kit plus more for $5 CAD or less (most of it was $3 or less). You shouldn't waste your hard earned money on this kit, whether you know anything about survival and the outdoors or not.....

Desperately needs a FOLDING SAW! Also needs pencil and (waterproof) paper. Was there a genuine compass anywhere in that rig? First Aid kit is strictly a play toy. You can use it to take care of the kiddie's boo-boo's (or better yet, teach them First Aid over and above taking a course or a class in same.) As for saving someone's life you better have your chosen religious matter with you because when it comes to these dinky "First Aid kits", you'd almost be better off with Prayer and Fasting. No sign of bug repellent (Ever hear of Lyme disease?) This is a $400 "feel good" that will end up top shelf of your closet (probably next to your old bowling ball) What's missing from this and the other kits mostly is experience. You've got $400 worth of gear! (good boy!) Now, go out into your back yard and learn to live and work with what you have. You will have to re-supply the kit (or buy another one, which is an issue nobody talks about) but you will know how to use your basic gear! Then you can strap this thing on and know you can make it. It beats the heck out of playing survivor when it might be for all of YOUR Marbles or those of someone you love. Btw, a nice single sheet waterproof instruction sheet or a small booklet of real survival tips would go real well tucked into one of those pockets. Otherwise, nice shiny! I'll bet you a cup of warm coffee that the guys who put this $400 gift basket together have never had to USE IT. What would you say? Buyer beware.

While we would prefer to do everything in the US, it’s just currently not possible, but it’s also worth noting many high quality brands build overseas in the same factories as we do. We source what we can in the US, and also assemble here. And we continue to chip away at having a larger % US sourced on a daily basis.
