Our ADV bikes are set up to ride them anywhere and all our camping equipment is in one bag that goes on my bikes. Have 2 ways to cook with wood in a firebox and gasoline from the bike with a MSR stove. Tent sleeping bags and pads and cooking gear and a week of dry food. Firearms cash are near by. 3 other bags are ready to fill and we can be gone in less than 20 minutes. Years of moto camping has us ready for just about anything. Stay ready!
Well thought out kit. People see the Kobalt on it and probably think you were on your way home from work and SHTF and your carrying tools and your lunch!
For extra warmth I like ThermaCare HeatWraps, either on the back of my neck or around my hips. Stays warm for 8 hours. Sold for pain relief but works if your stuck in your car in cold weather.
Gum is so often overlooked in bugout bags, anyone who has worked anywhere with blowing sand can tell you it gets EVERYWHERE! This includes in your mouth, this is amplified when you are dehydrated as your mouth is not making as much saliva to help you spit it out. The sand will get stuck in the gum as well as helping to encorage saliva production to help keep your mouth cleaner. Fresher breath never hurts either.
Cool bugout bag. Lowes, who would a thought! Looks like they have a lot of good stuff for the kit. Everyone should have all of these things at their house whether you are into survival gear or not. And it’s fun building these kits! You will learn as you go. Adjust the supplies as you see fit. And again have fun with it. If there comes a day where you actually need this stuff then you will be extremely familiar with it because you were the one who built the bag in the first place. Also great to have one of these BugOutBags for your car. Especially in the Winter! Gatorade won’t freeze in the Winter which is great. Water in the bottle will freeze and can explode (push the cap off) and when everything thaws you might find all of your stuff soaked and that’s the last thing you need to deal with in a real BugOut situation so be careful how and where you pack items like H20.
What about cloth shop towels and hand sanitizer for clean up. Its not absolutely needed to be clean but it would help with morale. A small cable cutter would be useful if you need to cut through a fence or a small lock. Heavy but useful.
This is an interesting experiment during our current pandemic where, in many places people may still be in a lockdown situation and may have to bug out and cant wait for internet shopping to be delivered leaving big box stores the only option. You've managed to put together a solid bit of gear that covers the essentials in the event of an emergency evacuation. Excellent video.
In the paint section of Lowe's you can purchase new unused paint cans and use to boil and disinfect water! Also masonry string or twine is good lightweight cordage. They also sell jute twine and fat wood for fire starting! You can also use road flares. Just a thought. All and all a great and thought provoking video. Thanks Tim! ATB Sam Adler from Washington state
I'd be curious if your Lowes carries pool shock instead of liquid bleach. Powder bleach won't eat through the container over time like liquid bleach will and it is the exact same as the liquid bleach.

Overall great thought put into the kit..the bleach is a good idea but what you have is overkill...you just need a few drops per gallon ...I would recommend thinking about eyedropper bottles...or similarly sized containers..there will be plenty of bleach
@@EverydayTacticalVids 😆 You're at Lowes. You could've MADE something a lot smaller than that bottle. PVC make great customized containers that hold up against bleach since it's used for plumbing and you could've used the duct tape to seal it (or pipe sealant). EG.
I may have missed it, but a pair of scissors and something like trauma shears would probably be a great addition. Even though you have a knife if you have to cut clothes around a wound or if you have to cut the tarp or plastic sheeting then a pair of heavy duty scissors would probably be a better tool than the knife, especially near skin.
Only thing I'd change is the screw drivers. I have a screwdriver that has a hollow handle that holds different heads. Also, a multitool would be good for a variety of scenarios
Bravo on the shinglers hatchet. That's what made me tune in seeing it in the main picture. I can't understand why just about everyone uses the wood handled especially if only being able to carry one.I consider that tool as one of the most important in my bag.Estwing 2.5 lb axe is a toss up to the hatchet and I use both all the time with having a woodstove.Great choices for your bag. One thing I do different that may help people is use Hydrogen Peroxide food grade in any small bottle instead of the bleach purifies water without the slimey bleach and disinfects anything cleans anything and can be deluted to your needs .
Great idea! Seems way safer than Bleach! I didn’t like the bleach idea or packaging at all. That’s a disaster waiting to happen, bleach in a taped up crappy water bottle. No good. That part of the BOB has to be thought out better.
It’s crazy how fast these kits get expensive . Put one together with high quality gear and your easily at a grand or more . I did a mix of budget and high end gear when I assembled my kit and still cost 400$ Really enjoying this series Tim i’d like to see you put some kits together from other big box stores just for comparison sake .

Anyway like the video good job.
I was at Home Depot yesterday doing the same thing (theoretically thinking about a BOB from everything bought at Home Depot), but Lowe's is WAY better than Home Depot on offerings. Either way, experiment aside, I'd take the money and hit a thrift store first where one could possibly get their hands on some excellent old school camping gear & military surplus with some good tool possibilities (axe, saw, knife, etc...) + some good old cookware (cold handle pans, stainless steel cups & pots, etc...). BTW, Lowe's Kobalt wood handled axe is the BEST little splitter I've ever owned. For $15, it ran rings around my Swedish boutique axes. And that Estwing is a "Shingler's Hatchet". re: wood handle vs metal handle. If you can break a brand new wood handled axe, I'll be impressed. I'll take a wood handle over metal every day of the week since wood handles do a far better job at dampening the shock of impact every time that axe head/hammer strikes. The bleach shouldn't be put in a water bottle. The bottle has a food safe coating inside the bottle. The bleach can break down the coating and sometimes the plastic which can contaminate the water you're trying to purify. The bleach should be in a smaller bottle for chemicals, put into two ziplock bags in case of leaking. The Kobalt tool bag is a great choice for a B.O.B. Great video, well done. Thank you. Soda cans are usually lined with plastic (a very thin layer) so be careful boiling water in them. I'd look for a different watertight container of some kind.

I use my old Klein camo tool bag for hunting. It’s also my bug out bag. Lol. All the tool pockets make things just so much easier to stay organized and readily available. Most bags don’t really have that many spots, they’re just open inside. But 39 pockets for your gear?, You can’t beat it. I’ve got another setup I use for kayaking, camp, and fishing. AWP brand has more room for Plano boxes for tackle and you can still fit everything else. Ive had a ton of people check it out and go get one. 20 years construction I’ve got some old bags sittin around.
I would just suggest putting your bleach in a different bottle like a Mountain Dew bottle and take the label off and make a big label that says bleach. I would do what I can to avoid water and bleach in same container. The tape on the lid is a great idea. Thanks Tim.
Thanks for the great video Tim. Just a couple of things that caught my eye. Move the pepper spray to one of the shoulder straps. Having it on the zipper behind you might be difficult to grab if you needed it in a hurry. Having it on the shoulder strap, you'd have quick access to it. Also....the vest, gloves, eye protection, and ear plugs. I would put them in one of the outer pockets for quicker use. You might have plenty of time to get to them in the bag and you might not. Things like that are the types of things you want to be able to get to quickly, just in case. Otherwise, I think you did a great job and I appreciate you thinking outside the box with some of the gear. :)
Wow , This is "BOMB PROF " Survival Kit. I think Lowes must add this video on their sight as a ADVT & Recommendation IDEAS . Please add Small vise grip & solar pannal charger . Thanks
Like the hatchet choice, don't think I'd carry the extension Cord and wall strip for size and weight when I have the power bank, maybe just a plug for the wall
The crowbar would definitely be useful especially for a urban situation you can fight with it and if you have to pry open doors and safes to loot if necessary. Might would have went with a octagon shaped one instead of the flat one because it is stronger. But for only going to Lowes the kit seems pretty solid.
Thank you for the video. You have a lot of good stuff in there I may or may not add more food and water. My main question would be what is the weight of your bag? With all that you have in it.
In place of a shower curtain could you have found some cotton drop cloths or moving cloths? other option is warm clothes like Milwakee stuff or carhart.
Thanks for the idea of the power strip and 2 prong adapter. Never thought of that before. I have a power bank that can be recharged using solar, but nice idea of the power strip.
Nice kit you've put together. Now, only if I can drop a very subtle hint to my son, who works at Lowe's, to put a bug out bag together for me for Father's Day. Lol
A grouting sponge...some body who know for sure help me here, but I'm not sure water collected in a grouting sponge would be drinkable since the sponge has a lot of mystery chemicals use in its fabrication. I'm probably wrong, but be careful.
myself I'd prefer the D2 steel blade from crescent tools taht is sold by Lowes. as for warmth I'd look into the insulation that looks like silver bubble wrap. it's basically bubble wrap between 2 layers of space blanket. It works like the blanket only with an additional insulation.
You can put a great BOB together for $250 or less. Whether indoor or outdoors. Think of 6 main things. Food, water, clothing, shelter, fire, defense. Most, should already have 50% of these items in there garage/home.Decent little BOB from Lowes though. From far out West!
You stole my thought! Harbor Freight is way better than Lowes for making a BOB. They have everything and more to make a killer BOB and their prices are extremely reasonable.
Great video love your channel.I just have one observation. It concerns the bleach. For one , you have way more than 72 hour supply one drop purifies gallons and two a cleaned out visine bottle could be used for a dropper. Not trolling just concerned.
@@EverydayTacticalVids Mine isnt. I'm actually not sure who made it, I've had it for so long. Does yours have the velcro and zipper on the sides for open carry?
I know you focused on what you could get from one store only...that bleach bottle seems like massive overkill for a 72 hour bag. For you other container, you only need drops of bleach to purify. Not sure what else you could do, but there must be something smaller and able to dose out purification in smaller quantities.
Awesome video. One question. The sponge. Most sponges have an anti-mold chemical so that the sponge doesn't get moldy. But obviously isn't suitable for drinking water from.
What about a drywall mud pan I know they make stainless steel ones now who knows how good it'd hold water after being put over a fire but I feel like it's worth a try
Maybe I missed it but doesn’t Lowe’s carry Leatherman multitools? That with your hatchet & saw would be great combo & save more space. Also, no way I’d have bleach in a basic water bottle in a mobile bag.

Thank you for the video. You have a lot of good stuff in there I may or may not add more food and water. My main question would be what is the weight of your bag? With all that you have in it.
Nice kit Tim!
In place of a shower curtain could you have found some cotton drop cloths or moving cloths? other option is warm clothes like Milwakee stuff or carhart.
I'd love to see you do a bug out bag from Academy sports!
Maybe that’ll be a future video. Thanks for the idea
To easy. They literally have everything you need to thrive.(including freeze dried meals) Need to do a price limit to make it a challenge.
I was just looking for videos like this! And I’m from NH as well so it couldn’t be more fitting
Awesome. Hope this helps out.
Thanks for the idea of the power strip and 2 prong adapter. Never thought of that before. I have a power bank that can be recharged using solar, but nice idea of the power strip.
Your tarps can be your water collectors.
Good for a truck bag. Might be a bit heavy for three day carry. Weight would always be good to post for bug out bag videos.
myself I'd prefer the D2 steel blade from crescent tools taht is sold by Lowes. as for warmth I'd look into the insulation that looks like silver bubble wrap. it's basically bubble wrap between 2 layers of space blanket. It works like the blanket only with an additional insulation.
Reflectix. I was thinking the same thing.
You can put a great BOB together for $250 or less. Whether indoor or outdoors. Think of 6 main things. Food, water, clothing, shelter, fire, defense. Most, should already have 50% of these items in there garage/home.Decent little BOB from Lowes though.
From far out West!
Harbor freight will be a good place
You stole my thought! Harbor Freight is way better than Lowes for making a BOB. They have everything and more to make a killer BOB and their prices are extremely reasonable.
Well done Tim, very nice kit for a one stop shop
Great video! We'll thought out.
Great video love your channel.I just have one observation. It concerns the bleach. For one , you have way more than 72 hour supply one drop purifies gallons and two a cleaned out visine bottle could be used for a dropper. Not trolling just concerned.
You best be sure to have that bleach bottle labeled or putting bleach into your eye will create a real scenario where you are bugging out for real!
@@metaljew4456 😄 for sure!
Nice hoodie! I have the same one, I've never seen anyone else wearing one!
LA Police Gear?
@@EverydayTacticalVids Mine isnt. I'm actually not sure who made it, I've had it for so long. Does yours have the velcro and zipper on the sides for open carry?
Great idea, Never thought of Lowe's.
I didn’t know Lowe’s carried a lot of this stuff. I like the backpack
Depends on the Lowe’s mine doesn’t carry some of it I’ve looked
A lot of good ideas!! You put some thought into it. Love the different options.
Wow, what kind of coffee did you have before doing this video ?
Truly a thought experience like you said. Thanks for getting me thinking!
Dewalt makes a hatchet that can also double as a hammer. Might be a better choice than a shingle hammer.
Corona folding saw?!
Longtime subscriber here. 🙂
Can you do a video using the items in your Lowe's BOB for maybe an overnighter?
That's NOT what I was asking.
I like the sponge for dew ( water) I HV not seen that . super great !!!
Tim,
Awesome bag. Great challenge to buy everything from one store. I like the addition of the lithium Energizer batteries :) Keep up the great work.
I know you focused on what you could get from one store only...that bleach bottle seems like massive overkill for a 72 hour bag. For you other container, you only need drops of bleach to purify. Not sure what else you could do, but there must be something smaller and able to dose out purification in smaller quantities.
That bug out bag must cost a small fortune.
Awesome video. One question. The sponge. Most sponges have an anti-mold chemical so that the sponge doesn't get moldy. But obviously isn't suitable for drinking water from.
Pretty inclusive of what you would need. Good video.
What about a drywall mud pan I know they make stainless steel ones now who knows how good it'd hold water after being put over a fire but I feel like it's worth a try
How's the knife holding up?
Maybe I missed it but doesn’t Lowe’s carry Leatherman multitools? That with your hatchet & saw would be great combo & save more space. Also, no way I’d have bleach in a basic water bottle in a mobile bag.
What about canvas carpenter aprons for extra storage on your person and they sell reflectix insulation that'd help for warmth
Great idea but idk if lowes doesn't carry leatherman cuz I know home depot does but I def would have added a multi tool
All the NH friends on here 😁
Good video thank you!
