Update: did this from 45-54 and was epic, faster than mage because of Fire Nova Totem, and Magma. Tried this at 42 shaman, and after 4 deaths I decided to postpone until 45. I did ZF gy on my mage 42 to 54, so I know the safe spots, and came to the conclusion that w/o a mana shield ability to absorbs hits that could/would daze and dismount you'd have to chug invisiblity pots, and Limited Invulnerability Potion to make it to GY (if/when dismounted.) I'm hoping at 45 will let me get more ground before aggro'n.
To follow up to this guy's message; I have been comfortably doing this since level 44. The only consumables I felt were really required/mandatory were Swiftness Potions & Greater Healing Potions (you can bring higher, but I didn't) that isn't to say I didn't die due to the daze, but once you cleared the two safe spots, being able to drop a Stoneclaw Totem to briefly take agro create a small amount of distance and then drink the potion and just spam Earthbind Totem & Rank 1 Frost Shock to kite the mobs and tag those ahead of you till you reach the safe spot at the graveyard. I also strongly recommend picking up Nifty Stopwatch as it's essentially a swiftness pot that doesn't cost gold & Carrot on a Stick (for obvious reason). If you're an engineer, if you're able to get out of range of those who dazed you, you can pop gnomish cloaking device to safely sneak by mobs ahead of you, they will be chain pulled once the mobs chasing you catch up but it can give you a lot of breathing room, also can use Target dummies to draw agro away while you make distance & Gnomish Battle Chicken for similar reasons. If you're not engineer however, you can substitute the Mithril Frag Bombs for Ez-throw Dynamite II instead, it is still made by engineering, but, is usable by non-engineers and might be a viable alternative if you don't want to level Engineering just to try this out. With just swiftness pots, I died maybe once every 10 runs where I was dazed until I hit around level 49, and have minimal issues since then. As to the actual killing, I skipped using magma totem myself. Perhaps it's due to something incorrect in my spec, but I found my Magma totem was getting agro very quickly and being killed before full duration, so kiting them in a loop with Fire Nova Totem has been my go-to and is way better in the mana-efficency department.
Having a shield and strafe jumping to face mobs as the melee toy greatly reduces the chance to be dazed. Be conservative with yoir reset spots. I’ve done it on a pally, sham and mage now. Kinda nuts lol
@@Smoothy104 Did this from 45 to 54, and it was epic man. I needed a few more gold and actually got to 55 cuz a handful of mobs were still giving xp. haha
Hey, Love the video enough to try it at 44, I struggled quite abit, but its doable. it does become viable at 46, the difference is huge. you dont need to grenade off the bat so i found the regular rotation was best and just nade them when they are closest grouped during, i was normally able to sneak a grenade in before the nova, I found magma wasn't really worth other than for finding out if you missed a mob (if you didnt it wouldnt pull aggro, and if you did it would die) found rotation of EB>nova>corner hop>nova>EB repeat worked well, this also enables you use either EZ throw dynamite, and the goblin fishing poles incase you don't want to be an engineer. Edit:apperantly if you have both EZ throws in your bag, one back fire removes one off both stacks
did this from lvl 42 and it works when you start at 42 tho I highly recommend knowing every single reset spot on your way to the graveyard and ah gear with a lot of stamina when you get dazed immediately drop a stoneclaw totem into an earthbind and spam magma totems so you can reach the next safe point you are gonna get dazed a lot, trust me :D but its doable and still faster than leveling even when you die once or twice
Done this since lvl 45, insted of the Mithril bomb I've been using the Rough Dynamites, aka the first dynamite you get as an Engi. These wont build enough threath to use magma totem unless u chuck like 3-4 at them, which I do anyway since they are dirt cheap to make. Also u can skip using EB totem when opening the graves since u can do it in ghost wolf. I just spin them like in the video above, but instead of placing magma totem I just refresh EB and go back to place a FN. Even though the mobs die in a "bad spot" you can still loot them by doing a mount jump to get clipped on the wall. Also when ever u start doing dmg to the mobs, watch out for the ~20sec timer to which "untaggs" them, meaning you get decreased xp.
You can also do this as low as level 42 on Shaman, if you want a lower level explanation for it I have one where I did it at 43 ( ruclips.net/video/eoEixsPYREE/видео.html ), but used this guy's method for the idea and to figure out the actual pull rotation.
*Just tested this for a couple of days in the TBC Prepatch, it does work.* However i found some stuff has slightly changed, and some stuff is different if you are a draenei. I posted all my findings on the waffle video. Whould paste it here but for clarity as the stuff is formated with timestamps from his video id say go and watch it there, sorry.
I can confirm! Did this on my shaman 46-53 in just a few hours of casual play :) definitely helps to have the fire totem talents, imp ghost wolf, and maybe 2 bombs before using magma totem so the mobs don’t immediately attack the magma totem.
When your digging up the graves, running from the pot in the back toward the boss, that stretch of graves. It’s much easier to use the fountain as a reset spot rather than jumping onto the wall. You’re not crossing the enemies and it’s just a straight shot.
Nice man it's great to hear it's doable from lvl 42. Seeing as you can open the graves while in ghostwolf the only issue should be getting there as a lvl 42. I'm thinking target dummys from engineering, good use of totems and a few consumables when the rng god strikes you down and you'd actually be able to make it to the graves solo as a lvl 42.
He said in the video that if you use mithril bomb, you can keep the aggro for 6 sec. After that they destroy the totem. So you can use goblin sapper charge. Or more mithril bomb to increase your threat.
this might be a dumb question, but I can't think of any reason that the zombies run away from you and up near the boss before coming back to you after clicking the graves. why don't they just start attacking you right away?
If you aggro the boss before you start opening the graves, the zombies will run to him first - before they run to you. That's why you see me going into the boss room at 1:30 in the video.
Instead of going deep ele you can instead only go for Elemental fury - and then put 5 points in ench for 5% mana and the rest into resto to get reduced mana cost for totems. You can use this if you struggle with mana: classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/shaman/5002310523001-5-05005 this can be done at lvl 46
Ive been following this 50-51 on my shaman and my biggest issue is tagging all the mobs. Without engineering I can only do ez-throw dynamite with a 5 yard radius. I throw twice to be sure, then chain lightning/rank 1 lightning bolt into the crowd for another minute to be extra sure before dropping fire novas. Yet i'll always miss a few and get anywhere from 6k-10k exp from the entire graveyard. I also tried oil of immolation - instant death - not a good idea lol. At 50 a well executed run takes me 20 minutes - I sometimes use safe spots and my fire nova totem is 1 rank lower until 52. I can only see my total exp getting to 40k/hr if I got REALLY good at it (like in the video). I think if I was an engineer (and thus had way less mob tagging issues) this would be a lot faster than dungeons/questing, but I'd say this is comparable to normal leveling speed for me.
Hello there guys a pretty big update: You can actually open the graves while your in ghostwolf! This makes it super easy to open the graves!
GG
this is hilarious but really clever, i never thought of this in any way... well done!
wooow, gj man! real smart use of mechanics
Absolutely insane this lad
Nice vid mate, used this strategy to lvl from 46-52 in a day almost!
Did you use Mithril frag bombs or ez dynamite? Also did you use invis potions?

This is insane. I love it
You can jump while mounted from the middle section of the hill and land on that spot you said can’t be looted.
If you have mana problems a mana spring totem should suffice, over ten minutes it easily gives back way more mana than it uses! even if just barely

How did you stop the mobs from breaking your fire totem?
Using mithril bomb. You can keep the aggro with them for 6 sec. If you use one more, or a goblin sapper charge, you can hold aggro more.
Have you tried to do Mara pulls or BRD?
I don’t think mara would work, at least from the mage spot - have to get too close to the mobs to lay the totems.
