Cheers Paul. they are memories that will live long in my mind. I am of an age that meant you just got on with it, no point sulking on a tour of a lifetime 😁 I am thinking about next year and Norway is high up that list it not a very big list tbh).
Well Alex you did so well to do this ride and all the filming feeling so off as you were. So pleased you're both much better now. That 360 camera in your hands is amazing - I can't ever see myself carrying all that you do for filming but I'm so impressed and pleased that you do 👍👍🤗. Norway by bike is spectacular. Thank you again. Keep well. Peter
Hello Peter, I do enjoy recording my rides so it no real effort but very happy to hear you are enjoying these videos. We finally managed to shake it off but got to say timing was not great. The 360 camera was excellent but this model does need bright condition to get the best out of it.
Route 44 is a gem! I rode it back in April 2018 when picking up my first Africa Twin in Oslo. It was still snow in the mountains at the time and the long way following the coast was the chosen option. I took route 42 as well. Also a very nice road if you travel further east in the southern parts of Norway. Well done on alerting the AT driver! He has no vision ahead when driving that close to a larger vehicle. Better keep some distance and make use of the acceleration when the coast is clear. Thanks for sharing!! 🏍️🇳🇴🫶🏻
Morning Mr Tor, a gem it certainly is and did intend to do the southern road but alas I ran out of time. The AT rider should have known better but thankfully it all worked out.
Thanks Alex, another amazing road, although from what I've seen you'd struggle to find a bad one. The effort and resources Norway puts into building and maintaining its infrastructure puts The UK to shame.
Thanks Dezmond, I am happy that the camera managed to capture the eye popping scenery for folk to enjoy. Still a couple more videos to come of the tour.
What an absolutely stunning road Alex and to think you just stumbled across it, if I ever get to Norway I'll make a point to give it a go. Well done for warning that AT rider, it just goes to show how impatience and frustration can lead to dire consequences.
Afternoon James, the prices brought more of a tear to my eye than the virus 🤣🤣🤣 I was okay for the most part but the mornings of the first three days in Norway was a bit of a struggle but I just made the most of it, I suppose I will just have to go back and fully enjoy the place 🤣🤣🤣
@@blearyview2254 As a Scotsman who moved to Stavanger (now legally Norwegian) I agree. I love it here. The downside to taking that road from Flekkefjord is missing the chance to take teh "Old postal road" Tronåsen just south of Moi. @@stuinNorway The good news is I had excellent weather for the five days in Norway. I understand it rained on either side of my visit so I was a lucky boy. I will check out your videos tonight when I sit down on RUclips. Thanks Stu.
Morning, I have done Applecross many times but never again, far too many motorhomes and cars etc plus the road surface, especially at the hairpins are in poor condition. There are many roads way better than Applecross, I did one yesterday and you will see the video in due course. Glen Douglas, it was amazing. 👍 even though it was very wet 🤣🤣🤣
@@blearyview2254 Sad to hear Applecross has deteriorated. When we went up the surface was good (for mid 1970s) and no traffic (end of April-ish). I think it is a sign of the times and, maybe, one of the reasons the "powers that be" are trying to limit vehicle use.
@@riderramblings I crossed over the border into Switzerland from France last year via the back roads and it was indeed very enjoyable. Local knowledge is king and is actually the reason I do these videos is to share lesser driven roads that folk would never know about.
Tremendous landscape and thanks for taking the trouble of videoing it for us, especially as you were unwell, much appreciated 👍

Morning Mick, that is so true regards the roads, I am struggling to remember any pot holes and it makes such a difference.
Certainly a magical stretch this one. Enjoyed every frame. Cheers

It was indeed a brilliant road. Aye, the fella was very impatient and hitting that lorry would not have ended well.
Morning Alex £3.00 for a bottle of water still it looks spectacular 😊 you do sound bad on this 😢hope it didn't spoil your adventure too much

I think the best one in Scotland is Applecross. I drove a Comma Dormobile up it about 40 years ago - lets just say it was interesting...

If you come over to France, There are some really cracking routes and virtually no traffic (if you know where to look).
