I have that exact same Zodiac. With a patch in that same place! It was there before I got the boat, so I don't know what happened. You did a much better fix than what is on my boat! I have the benches and console too but only use one bench in the front over the gas tank, to save space and get rid of all that clutter. I like tiller steer and pull start for its simplicity. It's a cool little boat though. Love the speed tubes. And I got them sealed thanks to another one of your videos.
They are cool little boats, too bad if the floor let's good on so e of the Futura models, you won't know till ots too late cause of the speed tubes covering. Only says this cause, in the process of recording next big project where the floor came off and only thing holding people in was their speed tubes. Boat flooded quick apparently. But yes, I do love these boats also. Fun and nimble.
I am orange/red vinyl Zodiac and there are areas that have bubbles where the vinyl material has delaminated. It's pretty much around where the accessories have been glued... Is this something that can be repaired?
Is there a specific type of acetone used to clean off the old glue/adhesive? I have to re-glue the front pull handle on my Futura, and there is a lot of old adhesive.
PVC boats I'll try and use Z7096 Zodiac Plastomere Adhesive Glue whenever possible and it's availability. When there's backorders for the Z7096 I'll use Stabond 2 part PVC Glue from Mercury Marine or Weaver 2 part PVC glue. Anything that's requires structural, and longevity, I'll use 2 part glues. Actually I'll only use 2 part glue for our repairs. But if I'm out on the lake, the tube 1 part repair glue is sufficient till I get the back back.
I do in some of the videos, it all depends on the job and if I've already narrated a similar video, I'll just throw in some tips and tricks that aren't usually shared in the newer ones with less narration.
Good video, EXCEPT HANDLE SHOULD BE TRACED, GLUED, AND INSTALLED WITH BOAT FULLY INFLATED SINCE THAT'S WHE N IT WILL BE UNDER THE MOST STRESS. Have installed hundreds of these.
I have the same boat and was wondering how thick the aluminum deck is so I can screw in some tie downs.

what material and adhesive do you use?
I used Zodiac Fabric for the repairs here, glue is either Zod or Stabond.
Is that a long shaft?

Nothing special, just regular acetone or MEK, elbow grease and some patients.
The acetone or MEK will soften the old glue, take a stone grinder or sandpaper once softened and slowly remove the old glue.
Like the vids, question, what glue do u use for PVC?

Amazing, work! Have you ever considered narrating your work in your videos?
