art "social experiment" accounts are getting out of hand....

- Hello hello! Thank you for reading the description :))
this video may seem a little rushed and the reason for that is: it is! so if some things don't fully make sense, seems like I'm juggling multiple topics at once or not fully explaining things I'm very sorry lol
my original aim with this video was to call out accounts specifically who run these "social experiment" accs by baiting with AI or actual artists art (which I see far less frequently than AI but non the less I DO see) but I did sort of integrate the whole pretending to be a beginner artist issue into this which is honestly much more common and rampant but I felt like that had already been talked about so I'd rather try let people know about something a little bit more niche! (and in my opinion much more harmful since you're involving other creators in your mess)
All my social medias (I think) can be accessed by my carrd below!

Hope this was somewhat enjoyable!
Hi guys!! Just wanted to say thank you for the traction this video got, it was very unexpected and so I'd like to clarify a few things:
- straight up hate comments will be deleted, I don't have the time of day to bother dealing with you beyond just removing your comment
- criticisms are welcomed, if you feel I missed out something in the video or may have gotten something wrong, please feel free to share! As long as you are kind and friendly, I could not care less
- lastly, I will not be making many more "drama" videos in future, its not really the side of youtube I want to join in with and if I DO talk about issues I'll be talking about more trivial, small and rather unserious issues rather than important issues that if I did tackle in poor taste could upset many people, I don't want to deal with the burden of a shitty take on the internet
I hope you enjoyed the video and hope you stick around for future uploads
i feel so bad for the ACTUAL beginner artists who wanna improve and build their social career/hobby but then get disregarded by the algorithm 😭😭😭
yeah it sucks... especially when if they DO improve quickly they get accused of being bait or in the cases of small artists they get accused of stealing or using ai, these social experiment accs just deflect blame and cause more suspicion
I know!!
And I am a newer artist 😭
Me 2 @@Biscuit_gamer34
I also feel bad
its surprising how many people seem to forget that "doing a bad thing" cant be excused by going "oh but like it was an experiment"... cuz like... thats literally just another way of saying "i did this really bad thing... oh but dont worry, i did it on purpose :3"
doing a bad thing with an explination doesnt change the fact that a bad thing was done
Yeahh I keep seeing a ton of them on my feed and recently they've been branching out into stealing art and using ai because I'm getting those social experiments on my feed now lmao I think I was almost the victim of one but the person deleted their account with my stolen work on it before they posted more than one thing because they got called out a ton
my main issue with the art social experiment accounts isn’t even the lying, while that is a problem the worst part is that it’s casting doubt on actual beginner artists.
I’m lucky i got into the online art community in the early 2010s because i cannot even begin to imagine how hard it is for new artists nowadays. the 2010s art community was hell, but it was a hell of a lot better than what tiktok, instagram and twitter have turned it into.
the ai thing is stressful because i’ve gotten into photography recently, and while images are still being stolen there’s weirdly a lot more respect for photographers than artists, and people will be like “well ai generated photo is aren’t good but ai generated is art and blah blah blah.”
people these days are just so attention and clout hungry and it’s deteriorating all online communities. i get the want for fame and attention, i think everyone had a phase like that, the problem is is that people don’t seem to ever grow out of that, or at least don’t think about *what* attention they want. i want my art to be popular, i do, but id rather just forgo the idea entirely if it means getting swept up in all of this. we need to disconnect the idea of popularity with the idea of good.
THIS!! I did touch on the beginner artist stuff in the candie section when I was talking about that type of engagement bait but I didn't really expand on that too much because I was more interested in ranting about the ai art and art theft stuff lol BUT I agree about it getting worse, creators in the past were also fame hungry dont get me wrong but there's no heart or soul in short form content anymore and I know that and I've even fallen into it on multiple occasions, I still participate in copy paste trends frequently and they are fun sometimes but it gets mind numbing after a while honestly, I've been hovering around the art space since 2016 and in it actively posting since 2019, its shocking how some peoples morals go out the window when views are concerned
bruh ik this ain't related but I hate how most of my subs don't even watch my videos they all came from that 500k video I had at this freaking point I'll rather have like 500 or 1000 that come back to watch my videos
I tried doing social experiment as a joke and then realized how it made people feel and decided to cut it short and delete the acc cause I realized how cruel it would be to play with someone’s feelings
And thats good on you! I'm not going to act like this isn't something I wouldn't have done in the past because I would have, it's not really until you stop to think about how it could upset others that you realise it's not the best idea, I do think these accounts are very subject to circumstance though, accounts that draw their own bait may be bad but I don't think they're on the same level as those who take others work as part of the bit or those that use ai since it's such a point of contention atm
It's so unfair when artists who put actual effort into their work go unnoticed meanwhile people faking being a beginner will get thousands of thousands of attention with every single post. I understand some may be satire, but I feel like that satire should be used sparingly instead of making a whole account about it and fooling everyone and taking away the recognition actual artists could get
this! I actually do also find that on instagram reels the amount of bait content coming out of artists nowadays is super depressing, like there's so many artists saying they're 11 or 12 just for shock factor so they get traction on their page, its sad people feel they need to lie like that to gain an audience but I will always repeat this: audiences dragged in through lies and bait will NEVER stick around
Yeah, personally I think it's okay to do some occasional bait for fun but just don't make that the whole thing and make it obvious it's a joke 😭
Right like they’re practically contributing to the problem because 1 social experiment is okay but a trend is just NO
AHH SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC BUT I SAW THIS MIKU PIECE ON TIKTOK!!! i was the kirby person that asked to reference ur coloring if you remember:3 i love the colors and the eyes and the gjghgjghjgg its so pretty
OH YEAH I REMEMBER HI!! thank youuu!!!!
I hope no one gets worried im baiting 😞 currently uploading all my old childhood traditional art to deviantart in case anything happens to the original drawings
But im making it clear as possible its older art in the description. I just want it all saved online as a backup 😅
You should be okay!! Its not too much of an issue on DA!
i dont like the hate they get , ig its not th best thing to do but ppl act like she did the worst thing in the world
I get your point but the issue with accs like that is they almost never take accountability and use excuses, they shouldn't get threats its not that serious but the ones who steal artwork ARE malicious and should be talked about
@@PuffTastic yeah , theres much big artist stealing and getting away with it bc o subs :/
Just here to say that I actually love the way you draw hair, it's gorgeous and radiant, it's clear you know a lot about colour.
THANK YOU!
The first time I stumbled upon a "social experiment" account I groaned and slapped my face. Somehow just knew it was going to be a trend that harmed the art community in some way. It makes me subconsciously not want to interact with beginner art accounts out of irrational fear they're just a rage bait/social experiment. You'd think if it was an experiment or had a point they'd plan more and be more thorough with what they post, how they post, and what they're trying to prove. Overall, it's just a new dumb five minutes of fame trend to ignore.
OH MY GOD might be unrelated but your one of my biggest inspirations for art
AWW THANK U SM!! THAT MAKES ME RLLY HAPPY LOL
Oh my god the way you use colours is amazing???? I'm obsessed. Great topic to make a video on!
Thank you so much!!
Dawg your art is so amazing omg?? I want to eat it and leave NO CRUMBS it looks so juicy fr I aspire to colour as vibrantly and beautiful as you fr.
I love the video sm ur 100% right, I wish beginner artists had real support but so many people treat the art community like a war zone. We can be living in a dog eat dog community it's just driving people out and the clout obsessed jackasses r making everything so much worse. :C
THANK YOU!! and yes I agree, to a degree the art community has always been filled with clout obsessed jackasses but I feel like its amplified since wayyy more people are into digital art now compared to the 2010s (and especially early 2010s) due to accessibility of software nowadays, back then it was mostly adults with professional setups producing long form content on youtube or short animations when nowadays its everyone and their dog so you're def going to run into a lot of people, particularly children, (who already have insane addictions to the digital world) who will use immature/deceiving ways to get attention online and I'm more worried about where that motivation comes from than the actual action
As someone whose an *ACTUALLY* beginner these social experiment is getting out of hand, younger artist who actually are beginner or extremely skilled, it ruins people motivation because younger artists won’t know it’s bait and talented artist work getting stolen is something indeed. (Sorry for the bad explanation of my opinion as I am have autism and explaining stuff is hard for me)
Noo its okay I understand! I also have autism
@@PuffTastic Ty I will check more of your videos your videos out because you seem interesting.
Whoa!! I love the metallic Miku hair!
Thank youu!!!
I have a theory that candie’s account wasn’t a social experiment- it was just a way to backtrack because they wanted more engagement
that's probably likely, if not it was extremely poorly thought out, there's no way they're over the age of 15 either way 😭
What is going on with the colors?! I love it. 🥺
THANK UU
mainly clicked because I love how you shade the hair lol
but to comment on the topic. I find it pretty annoying too, not just that people keep making these "social experiment" bait accounts but because people keep falling for this bait (otherwise we wouldn´t be dealing with this wave right now)
If I was to go back and redo this video again I'd definitely speak about how engaging with those accounts especially by threatening them or arguing with other commenters etc does fuel the fire, I wanted to talk about this though because it links in with how this has very much come from people wanting any publicity they can get and it's really sad to see, especially being that most of them are young children who just want attention
i hate this "art social experiment" just say you want attention 💀
i found a video where someone stole edits to see what would happen and they literally hearted every single comment except for mine calling them out on it.
omg I've seen so many variants of that exact type of account its not funny anymore
Ahh yes the good old: I stole other people's content and gained subs from it.. but it was just an experiment, so it's fine.
I thought stealing stuff being bad is common knowledge but apparently not.
@Cyb3rrui someone did it with my art around a year ago actually I was not impressed 🫠
Everyone is saying it but still: omg i love the way you color???? Like holy shit???
THANK YOU!
