    Alfie, this was another outstanding video and this one caused me great desire to return to San Cristobal where I have not been for almost 15 years. Among many qualities, I especially enjoy your selection of music which accompanies specific sites you visit. Please continue to post these videos of Mexico, a country in which I have happily lived for over 30 years and which you help me to appreciate even more. Gracias, mi querido Alfie.

    Hi Alfie, I can understand why you left the USA to travel throughout México. It's an amazing country full of history, culture, and beautiful scenery. I think I've watched most of your videos, and you are my favorite Utuber to watch, and your great at editing your videos and play good music. I love how you show and talk about history, food, etc. You're also funny and make me laugh . Always looking forward to your new downloads.

    Really enjoying your videos, Alfie! You do a great job highlighting the culture as well as the beauty of each place you visit. I’m adding San Cristobal to my list of places to visit this winter or spring.
    Sorry about your camera. I have lost two cameras during my travels by leaving them behind. Once in the restroom at the airport in Anchorage where I left it hanging on the door (it was a darkly lit stall - I checked back for several weeks before giving up) and once in Zihautenejo where I left it out on a blanket at the beach and everyone in our group must have had their head turned. This was a reminder to always be aware of your personal belongings when you’re out and about.

I just wanted to say congratulations!!! I’ve gotten to watch your channel grow and it’s so impressive seeing how far you’ve come. All the best to you and your journey. I’m back in Mexico haha and plan on visiting Chiapas soon, so thanks a lot 🥰‼️🇲🇽♥️

    Good introductory video. Sorry about your camera. We had a brand new cell phone lifted from a travel bag in Oaxaca city via the classic salsa squirt, and it hurts.
    Next time, be sure to visit the Mundo Maya Textile Museum and the Jolibil Weaving Cooperative (pricey but a chance to see the highest quality of weaving) if you have any interest in the history of indigenous weaving. It's stupendous. Also, Kinoki on Guadalupe has decent food and a huge film catalogue available at minimal cost for private viewing as well as periodic international films in the larger viewing area. Mid January is a great time to go for the amazing Fiesta Grande in Chiapa de Corzo (for the parachicos) as well as the saint day fiestas in the Maya towns near San Cristóbal (especially Zinacantán for the jaguar tree and the rituals).
    Also, besides being a museum, the Na Balom offers pleasant if vintage rooms/suites in the main building, each with a wood burning fireplace. Cost goes to support the work of the trust.
    Finally, Viña de Bacco on Guadalupe is a very popular wine bar with tapas, with a wide range of wines by the glass. And free popcorn. It's a fun place. Go early as it gets really crowded.

    What a gorgeous town. I might have missed it in your video (I'm still watching it as I write this) but were there a lot of foreigners there? And foreign businesses (ie. McDonald's)? Would you say it's one of the less gentrified "touristy" places in Mexico?
    And lastly, do you think the city would be walkable for day-to-day life? Like, easy to get to a grocery store / market no matter where you live.
    (and sorry about your camera being stolen! With all that footage even... What a bummer)

    • @GringoInterrupted
      @GringoInterrupted  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks! There are many tourists, mostly European, but not as many foreigners living there like Oaxaca or San Miguel. So, yes I’d say its less gentrified but still plenty of tourists. Its definitely walkable, as ling you’re in/around centro.
