I like how you categorize 'junk we had to throw out' and 'stuff we wanted to keep' as the same general group of lost items. Sean, you killed your own bottom line because you guys grabbed the best stuff for yourself!
Exactly lol. Was totally worth it.
Looks like a scam I would fall for… something that creates more work and takes up more space than I have
exactly
He scammed himself.
@@chrismay2298 haha, yes… can’t say I haven’t done the same though
Half my "projects" feels like ive scammed myself once tge dust settles
@@dariusandrews4490 lol, I’m glad I’m not the only one! I find that if I came out ahead at all, I basically paid myself pennies per hour 🤦♂️… finding a side job delivering pizza would probably get me ahead quicker in life, and save me from filling the garage with “junk”
Lmfao I’m watching this video and it all came back to me. You called my dealer in New Jersey around the time of this video and asked to if we would be interested in those parts and I was so confused 😅
That was an awesome answer from you😂😂
Buying rocks
"You said your name is Sean? You happen to have a beard? You also have bikes right?" 🤣
A good lesson for kids out there. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If all that stuff was so valuable, the person who sold it wouldHave pieced it out and made the money. Sometimes brand new parts aren’t worth anything because Nobody needs them. Some parts simply don’t wear out or get damaged in crashes.
unless you have a youtube channel with nearly 2 million subscribers. They should really factor in the $$ in revenue generated from the videos in this series to put up factual numbers!
It's not even that it isn't "valuable". The thing about these pallets is that they are like trading card packs. Will there be something decent if you buy enough and dig for it? Sure. Is all of the stuff worth "something" at minimum? Sure. The issue is actually in the storage and labor hours that comes with actually attempting to piece these things out without running a pawn shop yourself. It's the same reason why many companies don't even actually process returned items back into their inventory, because it takes actual man-hours to figure out what is still sellable and to put them back into the sales flow.
I never sell stuff on eBay but ended up with Ferrari spark plug wires for some random model made in the late 80’s and put them on eBay because I had no other real option. Well I forgot out it and like 8 months later get an email they were sold and at point wasn’t even sure where they were… but for $700 I sure looked and eventually found them. I got them for free so was pretty happy about the $700 but then I leaned about eBay fees….
I always had this in the back of my mind, but it's the first time I see it in a video. Great job! That's literally keeping it real!
And 15-20% of that goes to seller fees on eBay.
Agreed. The best way to sell it would be on Facebook marketplace for roughly half of MSRP. Downside is, could take 2 years to sell.
The guy who was like your name is Sean, and you've got a beard should work for homeland security. He knew who you were immediately.
...and still didn't buy anything.
@@mebeasensei precisely because he knew who he was
You guys are always giving something away, that's awesome! This is definitely one of my favorite channels!
this is the part no one else shows, so I really appreciate the transparency
I sell stuff on Mercari all the time... people underestimate how long it takes to do all the photos.. sometimes that stuff takes 20-30 minutes per item...
Why do you think you see so much trash pictures on the private sellers all over Internet… They don't care to make the pictures look even decent, some of the time.
thanks for doin that! it was great to see how it was workin out. Hope you keep us updated if things change!
Hi guys, love all the videos. Got to say that i know Sean wears glasses indoors due to an eye sight problem but I couldn't help but laugh, at how the lighting in the unit reflected on his glasses. Keep up the great content, always waiting for the next clip to come out.
Love the crazy things you do! The pallet purchase took care of my curiosity about such. Thanks for all the wild videos, they’re great!
Thank you for doing this second episode of these discount crates of parts. This video covered exactly what I was thinking while watching the first video
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BikesandBeards care to do any follow up video of jeremys razor scam you guys did
I've went back and forth many times on buying pallets, but never pulled the trigger. Thanks for spending your money so I didn't have to spend mine 😎. Seriously though, that stings, so I'll "smash" my like in hopes that RUclips helps you recoup. Great video!
The prospect of easy money is definitely seductive - the reality is usually much less appealing. But hey A+ for thinking outside the box and the effort you put into it undoubtedly brought you and your team much closer together... Cheers!
Loving the editing on this one man
Thank you so much for showing the dark side of reselling. So many resellers on RUclips make it seem like it's a walk in the park when in reality its hit or miss. Love your channel btw!(ps, how much are you selling then5 x helmet for?
I already have the helmet away sorry
It's usually a miss when you factor in your time and labor.
Cool, keep on the good work!
I see what you're doing. By saying it doesn't work you can get all the deals for yourselves. Maniacal, pure genius.
Very very informative video!!! Thanks for spending ur money for science to show us the failures
Really interesting and entertaining as ever. You could try putting some of the items on owner's club forums - especially the Ducati stuff.
Like your vids fellas.... You guys make me laugh
All the best to you and yours from North Nottinghamshire UK
I have been a full time professional ebay seller for about 20 years now. Its not as easy as it looks. Stuff doesnt sell if it isnt listed right and at the right price. You need to understand how much it costs to ship, and have packaging available. Doing what these guys are doing is a bad idea unless you are prepared.
I happened upon a Highway Bike Patrol riding competition in Daytona. There was a huge "tight maneuvers" coarse set up and those guys would drag their bikes around every corner. It was wild and they were ripping through that thing.
Very random
But, now we all learned. So good work and thank you for your service.
Hopefully this is helpful for those thinking we can “get rich quick” doing these pallet buys. Thanks for the videos
As exciting as buying unclaimed freight is, you guys have probably saved me thousands in trying myself 😅😅 thanks ☺️
Don't look at it so much as losing $40,000. Think of it as a field test of the your in house six million dollar man's (Craig) newly discovered ability; 'Helmet freshness sniffing detection system'. In the wild world of Motocycles, that incredible skill is bound to come in handy. Could even save your life!
Dude. I love your videos
Anyone else giggling at the ring light reflections in Sean’s glasses?? Hilarious googley eyes!
Swap meets are the place to go with that stuff. Everyone's in a buying mood and you might even get to wholesale large piles to other sellers
I love when you pull out the Sherf bikes just to mess around!
Unlike most channels, you didn't do a hype-it-all-up video about the potential of these pallets. You're showing the reality of the financial risk involved.
It's why a lot of people who buy pallets and other bulk not-sold and returned items either play the long game, or don't stay in it.
Sure, those exhausts are worth that much brand new retail, but how many people are out there shopping for one, for just one easy example.
I wish it could have worked out so much better for y'all!
Much Love from Boston, MA 🇩🇴🇵🇷💪🏼💯🔥
Feels like a yardsale type thing would work, make an event out of it. Film it meet viewers etc
Effing brutal. Lesson learned. Great content doe!!!!! \m/
Hilariously understood this... When I left the bus company, they were throwing out thousands of dollars in cummins and international parts. I refused to see them trashed so a skid worth an estimated 30k sat in my shop for 2 years, and yes everyone I offered them to, seemed to think they were stolen and wouldn't touch them. I ended keeping the few parts Id eventually have a use for and scrapped the rest.
You are a hustler! Great video.
In Scottsboro, AL there is a huge store called "Unclaimed Baggage". They also do Unclaimed Freight. Cool place to visit and they do list some items on their website.
Love this channel
Well, it made a very enjoyable series of videos!
You and Craig should do a motorcycle camping trip and film it. During the worm season of course.
Love the videos
I think the one that sold you the pallet could not sell it either so he just put "Unclaimed motorcycle parts! MSRP 40k for just 9k!" haha
Joking aside, this is a really good video. You obviously understand business and marketing and STILL had issues making a profit. It's kinda refreshing to see how things usually works out. Respect for not just using clickbait for views like everyone else! Seriously Good content!
Vision floorboards allow for the bike to be on its "side " and power itself back up. Besides the floorboards are made out of the same plastic as heavy duty commercial sprinkler box covers
Great video guys
The difference between youtube fantasy vs reality, thankyou for keeping it genuine!
Sean... Why oh WHY... 3:17 Yinz don't have to rub it in for God's sakes. LOL
Can't wait for the live stream!!
I almost considered doing something like buying pallets. Thanks for this video! Sorry you got scammed. I hope many people watch this and see that buying pallets is a scam.
Probably late with this thought, but if you still have the bulk of it you could package it back up in shiny new shrink wrap and re-sell it. People love to buy in bulk as it is perceived value!
Just wanted to say this channel got me back into bikes after about 5 years I just bought a 17 rebel 500, wishing you guess would put out a video about rider confidence I'm slowly building back up but highway speeds are still sketch for me.
You can try looking at the MotoJitsu channel. There you can pick up a lot of tricks you can use to get better.
There is also courses (Champ U) on line you can take. You can also just train on figure 8's, riding in circles. Train on braking hard. When you get the back wheel of the grown to a stoppie at the end, you know you are braking hard enough.
Highway riding is the safest place to ride, so you think that is scary… Don't even try riding in a town of city.
You also want learn anything, just riding on the road. You only get false confidence. That is not going to do you any favors when something happens on the road. Or someone polls out in front of you, also called the car in front of you changed lanes, and are not responsible for what you do next or if you crash.
Ooooohhh!! This is why I got an eBay notification that you listed items. I obviously didn’t respond lol
One of the Victory design features/sales gimmicks is that they have hard points at the foot rests, that basically allow you to dump the bike over without doing any damage. Then you can bring it upright with fairly low effort.
That's why gents people just put unwanted cap on pallets just so it looks like the deal of the century, but glad you guys took the hit and I have learned something
The key to dragging the floorboards on those FLHTPs is to look BEHIND YOU as you turn and turn the bars to steering lock.
Great vid too bad the pallets didnt get you where ya wanted cant wait for the live liked that adventure rider jacket what happened to that lol
This is how stock works. You don't see the profit immediately. Wholesale pallets like this are bought as stock to be sold on eBay, and other outlets.
hey Sean nice video bro
Hey Sean!! Huge fan of the channel. Just a quick question, what was Craig’s first/introductory video??
It’s quite expensive with fees to list and sell on ebay, I sell my stuff on specific user Facebook groups as there are no fees.
I doubt Ducati dealers will want to buy stuff for stock, as they mainly ply stock service stuff that sells regularly.
Idk think I'll be getting any gifts this year.everything we have is for the kids of course 😀.I have a fatire mini bike and my 7 Year old and I love your channel.we live outside Missoula Montana
Nice to see somebody being honest about these pallet scams
I made a similar mistake once, bought 1,000 sets of brake pads off ebay for £1,000.
First rookie mistake, didn't bother counting them, when i got round to it i only had around 700 sets.
They were various makes, but all with EBC numbers written on them and all under FA 203, which meant they were for old models and some were even for racing use only (Lockheed racing caliper fitted mainly to triumphs).
I found about 20 sets i could use on my own collection of bikes and sold another 20 sets for half price to fellow couriers.
Never made a serious attempt to flog them on ebay and eventually had to move and threw a lot of stuff away, including the remaining pads.
I didn't know it was on Amazon I did buy a bottle of prime machine and I'm hoping I'm waiting for it to get here and I'm hoping it's as good as you say it is thank you my friend love you channel and don't forget your partner I didn't forget about him love him too I know it's your business but he hes great with you
Sounds like you learned a little about wheelin and dealin!
You can definitely make money doing that sort of thing it just has to be your full-time job and you have to know what you're getting into and be into it for the long haul.
Worth considering.... So I'm on a bunch of BMW bike groups on facebook. Some of these groups allow selling. The prices that these items are advertised for are nuts. I mean I'd never consider buy for these prices myself but I do see people from all over the world asking for shipping quotes etc so presumably some of these items do sell. I know it would be a long game and all but it might be worth joining a few Duke groups and advertising some of your harder to shift parts... also put photos of your mystery parts up too asking what they are and if anyone would like to buy them.
I hate to add to your money loss misery, but you offered free shipping. How much did that cost?
All the time & effort costs you more than you spend or receive. Good luck
I could really use a Large 'full face' helmet.Several of the ones you bought looked awesome, but are Way out of my $ range, which is broke.I'll be watching the 'Live Stream' and hoping...
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Dang ! now i want to go out for a ride on my Street Glide except it's 21F ...I hate winter!
and then the time you need to spend to check the mails answer them etc etc etc...
Plus packaging for the mail and bringing it to the postoffice...
lol.
You can not be the Lucky all of the time but keep on the good works and everithing wil Come youre way by the way love the Police bikes greetings from Holland
Hell im putting an led headlight on my 2006 suzuki boulevard c90 but found out i need the headlight kit to install it. You guys have one of them 6 inch headlight. Got 7k ony bike love the thing
I'm just throwing this out there, but if you're not sure on some phones, have the photo lookup lens and can sometimes help you identify them and prices. Hope it's helpful, even just a little.
Wait til you find out that ebay takes around a 15% cut, and even listings marked 'no returns' will be forced to accept returns. Selling big or expensive items on ebay is a good way to screw your life up pretty quick.
Good evening guys, watching from Philippines🇵🇭
Yup, you loose
I cant text you, i dont have a cignal, i live in a province in philippines. I only used wifi to communicate. 😟
It was a great idea cause it really goes to show how not a deal these things are. Save at leasy YOUR viewers from making the same mistake.
Can't wait for the live stream
Did you account for the eBay listing/sold fees and shipping costs? Those will take a huge chunk out of your return. eBay has upped their sold listing fees to the point its not worth selling on there anymore.
It was too expensive the last time I sold there 8 years ago, I can only imagine what it's like now.
“Well we could send offers to potential buyers on eBay”. I say yes! Just bought something yesterday I dropped in my watchlist and got a 20% offer. I stayed up about all night one time dropping stuff from a single seller into my list ‘cause I kept getting offers; and so I bought everything in my list. Keep in mind we all gotta pay sales tax, so 5% doesn’t even offset our rape by the gov’t.
What about searching the model of bike the parts are for, bog stock examples that aren't selling fast. Offer the seller the parts cheap so their bike can be advertised again with mods and have better impact and might pop more? Makes sense to me. Especially the Ducati Monster stuff.
Also, join a load of fb groups for those model of bikes and stick posts up on there. Stuff always sells on the groups I'm part of, you might need to do a couple of non sale posts before you can advertise tho. Group rules etc. Differs between groups... but this lands your parts under the nose of exactly the right consumer. I bet that would be worth the effort and get quick sales and best price.
Let me hold one of those Sherf Department bikes. I will make sure it has more power!
eBay is still a solid broad market platform but what you have is all need in the haystack stuff so I'd expect it will take a lot of time. There are a lot of sellers doing the same with liquidated bike parts. But the work and cost involved in every sale from listing time and research, packing material cost and time, shipping time, and at least another 10% lost to fees. Not sure if you factored those in your sales figures so far. I have personally found that a more targeted approach, especially on brand specific forums, can be the most efficient approach with none of the selling fees. But that also takes a significant investment in time because most forums will require some participation, minimum post count etc., before you can start using their marketplaces.
2:31 missed opportunity here with Craig’s face + list 😂
Haaaa...good thing you're a successful content creator, huh? ;) Good info.
Sean working out the man hour costs, is what every small business owner goes through everyday
That ducatti peice is a frame stay it holds the front headlight bracket to the front of the neck tube between the forks value 200 dollars
Hi like your videos. From bryan texas
If you want to drag those crash bars on that bagger you have to lean the bike in the turn while you lean outside the turn .. like a counter balance..
Facebook groups and online forums! Easiest way to get into those niche markets!
I have a victory vision tour. I call bs to riding it to an upright position. But I'm willing to let you guys try.
To start it you should have just done a pickup in person sale at your place craigslist style. Tell everyone on your channel 1st come 1 st served. Next craigslist, next facebook, Then ebay. This makes sure that people who really want your parts get them.
that picture wasent the first that showed up when i OFC had to google it haha
Well at the end of the day, you didnt lose any money because youtube money gives you way more profit 😂😂
What's the ebay link? I remember the unboxing video and you had some stuff I'd like!
