I love the debate of the energy required for a task for AI vs the standard method of doing the task. Really interesting and important conversation that not many people talk about or realize. AI is an awesome tool, but is it more energy taxing than the task it was replacing? Maybe...maybe not

1:22:18 The funny thing is that I have always seen social medias as just platforms where you post stuff that people can interact with, not apps for messaging. I especially wouldn’t consider apps like WhatsApp social media because basically you can only send messages. (and pictures and so on)
WhatsApp is a huge social media app than you think. The group member limit is way over a thousand, and communities where all the social interactions are happening. Channels are now a thing, where you can follow your favorite celebrity or channel and get the latest updates instantly. Data transfer, screen sharing, voice and video calls, group conferences, cash transactions, a separate app for business, and so on are some of the features I would consider as social media.

But would what’s app have counted as a social media in the past when it had less of those features? The same goes for snapchat which is even less ”social media like” even though it absolutely has elements of it such as stories.

Andy Shauf getting a shoutout. Never would have expected hearing him referenced on the Waveform Podcast. What a guy. Such a good songwriter and story teller. Also, the synth tones on that album.. so good.
I'm not sure if Ellis is the youngest at MKBHD, but he reminds me of my cousin, who's the baby of our big family and seems to have absorbed the best traits from all of us. He's confident, sharp, and sometimes a bit awkward in the most endearing way possible. It's refreshing to see someone so full of charm and knowledge at such a young age. It's a testament to how the new generation is evolving. I'm a big fan of the studio team.
This was a fun episode. Would definitely listen to an Adam and Ellis podcast. Only disappointment was Andrew and Marques not saying “triveeeahhh” before asking their questions!
I'll be honest I skipped to the end to see if Ellis or Adam did the outro and I won't spoil it but I wasn't disappointed ♥️
