This is a Lindsey song that he put forward to the Tusk project. The whole group was a little skeptical about the initial version but once they put their touches into the song it just became the anthem of the day. I would like the story behind using USC and how that project came about.
Hi Jeff, as a graduate of USC, class of 1979, The Year of Tusk! This song always gets me going. The only criticism I have is the “Lindsey” person was MIA. Lindsey usually if not always wails in this song. It’s not a quiet song! It’s all out all the time. The Trojan Band was used I think because of proximity and talent. We have a hell of a band program and the look fits. There’s a video on RUclips of Lindsey speaking at a hall on USC campus. He was speaking and playing som music. Then out of the audience comes a Trojan Band drummer with Tom’s across his mid section. He asks a question or something. Then all of a sudden the entire band starts flooding in from all directions. You guessed it, no one ever expects TUSK!!! What a fun video, Lindsey joins in and the theatre was rockin’ to Tusk! Joe
@@StrateleStudios Jeff, got a quick question. I recorded Tori live at the Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration, Acoustic Night. She sang 2 songs. The video runs 7 min. Just her and piano and the pianist did some backup vocals. Is this something you’d like to analyze? I have it posted on RUclips and so far about 25k views. So people think it’s good enough. It’s in vertical format as I had to shoot between peoples heads. Avoided, most. LOL. iPhone 14 ProMax 4K HDR video. Sound is decent piano is louder but Tori still shines through. Joe
I was a freshman in high school when this was released. Went through several copies and wore out each record. I'm glad it was one I didn't lend out to friends. Rmours of Fleetwood Mac stays true to the original, I love it!!
What does it cost, Jeff, to put on a show of this magnitude with this many people; it must be astronomical - the hall, the insurance, the management - Lord - it would never end.
Here is James doing a Lyndsey version of big love at one of their shows and doing a very good job of it. THey also do the full band version as well. ruclips.net/video/B6sek9C08YU/видео.html and this has to be one of the best versions of Sara ever ruclips.net/video/TeLC48nFc3Q/видео.html
I am shocked at the intense level of talent in Rumors of Fleetwood Mac. I have been a decades long fan of the band as well as Stevie and Lindsey and when I heard the singing by Rumors of Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks (Jess Harwood) I played it again. Jess sing's Stevie probably better than Stevie does now as she is in her late 70's and has roughed her voice up with the wold life. Stevie is still great but Jess Harwood as Stevie is younger and her voice stronger so it seems strange to say it but Jess nails Stevie's parts probably better in 2024 than Stevie and I don't mean that as an insult. I love Stevie but Jess is younger and her voice better. The man playing Lindsey's guitar parts is a great musician as is the woman playing Christine McVey's parts. Rumors of Fleetwood Mac is a tremendous version of the legendary Fleetwood Mac.
I wish I liked tribute bands more than I do...this was pretty good though. My take on it always has been, if I can't see the real thing, why bother? Good grief, that sounds so shallow! 😂 I don't mean to be, just personal preference.
I used to feel the same way until I heard and saw L&F in person. Cover bands today do make a huge effort to sound as close to the original with the members they choose. Even as a diehard Queen fan I would really love to see The Queen Experience in person.

Wow! The drums even have a sort of 70’s sound. Especially the snare. Excellent performance indeed!
Very well done and fun - especially the drum runs around 3 minutes. Must have been a blast to be there in person.

This song has always been a disappointment to me. I don't get it, or its appeal. Never did. Such a letdown after all the Rumours songs.
Totally understandable. It was very different for them. I too was scratching my head at the time then I succumbed. 😁
