In a world where almost every other home decor channel I watch tries to sell us something, you come in and transform everything with such budget !! You are a gem of a person Fia! So glad to have found you!!
This was going to be my comment as well. I would just do a diagonal black-and-white floor and paint the vent as well, so if it lands on a black tile, paint it black, or if it lands on a white tile, paint it white or half black, half white
Ok, I have been agonizing over my stock, contractor oak cabinets all over my house. They are old and all in need of a makeover, but I have been truly frozen as to how to get the job done and not lose my mind or my whole bank account. I figured I would paint them enamel white... that's been my mental plan all along, but, being oak, they have deep wood grain and I was thinking all the wood filler, primer, etc. I LOVE YOUR IDEA of just reworking them to still look like wood, but changing the tone!! Ohmigosh! Game changer! Thank you so much! I might just be able to do this now! New sub here!
This is so Pinterest worthy and very realistic which I personally prefer because most of us don't have Pinterest-perfect homes. Thank you for sharing your talent with us so that we can make our homes beautiful with what we have, I love your videos!
Now that is talent Fia!!Anyone with $$$ can go to a showroom, buy what you c n bring it home. But, when you have a budget, it takes lots of creativity n natural talent to make it work and that’s admirable! Fia, You did an amazing job. You always prove that we don’t have to be rich to have a beautiful home. Thank you for your wonderful ideas.❤
That room looks fantastic!!!! You really have a gift with design and decorating. I hope you are proud of what you do with all your projects 😊 For the floor - I know this might sound weird but I did see one designer who had a similar situation with a floor vent actually take a runner (a thinner material rug) lay it down, cut an X over the vent area, take the vent cover off, fold a little bit of flaps down into the vent hole, put the vent cover back on so air could continue to flow normally and then they had a rug but without blocking the vent. They could still take the rug up when needed to clean the floors but they just made a whole in the rug to accommodate the necessary vent. 🤷🏻♀️ Just a thought. Love your videos 🥰
Fia, do you think you could do a detailed episode on just the wood painted cabinets? Or maybe you have. I’ll look. Love this!!! As for the runner/vent: what about cutting a a hole in the runner that will go around vent with that rubbery stuff under runner so it doesn’t move
Me too! Everything you do is golden! I love your work! Also, is it possible to double check the paint color? I can't find "Chocolate Milk" on the SW site!
Yes please! I also need to paint the kitchen cabinets like you did these. I would like a detailed vídeo, please. Like always, I love your amazing work. Greetings from Portugal
My laundry is in my unfinished basement, this really helped me see what I could do to disguise the furnace and water heater etc. I've been thinking that one of those 80's- 90's bed surrounds (not sure what they're called) would work to give me cabinets on either side and above my washer and dryer. Thank you for the inspiration and ideas!
What an amazing makeover!!!!!! Wow!!!!! Your sister must have freaked out when she saw it…you are extremely talented …..hello from Montreal canada 🇨🇦 ❤❤❤❤
I'm both encouraged and inspired! It's so lovely to see a young person making something beautiful with reclaimed things and imagination. I've been making something out of nothing for over 60 years in order to make my family home a place we could be proud of. It's also the foundation of my business. Keep up the good work!
Our Queen FIA has done it again!!! 👏 Love these videos ! Looks beautiful! I would do a thin washable runner & cut out where the floor vent is, with a heavily patterned rug it wouldn't be very noticable .
idea for your sister‘s laundry room floor: at Home Depot, you can buy 6 x 8 ($25) or 8 x 12 ($50) vinyl floor mat *remnant* (from that big roll of vinyl flooring, similar to carpet, that you can get cut at a width of 12 feet and you pay per square foot or per linear foot…) When HD gets to the end of the roll, they roll it up pieces to sell as “remnants”… you really don’t need to glue them down.. you can easily cut them to fit quite perfectly in a space… I used them to cover up my orangey wood floors in my apartment! The downside is if you want to get several rolls of it to match, even though the cost per square foot is really good, the stores get what they get and you can’t search for specific patterns online ahead of time.. the website mainly shows a black and white checker by default, but they have other tile or wood prints in stock too … You just have to go into the stores that carry it and look through what they have… But they tend to get new ones in every week or two and more than likely will get another roll of the design you may need more of in the near future… for a small space like your sister’s laundry room, she should be totally fine with a 6 x 8 roll and then have extra to use elsewhere! PS you can easily cut it to fit over the drainage vent thing on the floor as well :-)
Less is more for the floor! I like it as-is! For maintenance reasons, it's just perfect right now. I would also have mentioned the annoyance of trying to do laundry with backpacks sticking out into the walkway space. I'm not sure that putting them behind the door solves that crowded factor when the door hooks are literally loaded up, but wow, it looks so much better with that molding you put up!
GENIUS hacks....especially LOVE how well your uber easy painting technique transformed those cabinets. About the floor you were asking ....maybe some cool stencils?? Obviously in a very durable floor grade paint. Fleur de Lis pattern on a few of the tiles might compliment the 'stone' backsplash nicely. :)
While getting a house ready to sell this Summer, I took a basement laundry room, and , did essentially the same thing. It was a good size, and curtains on each side of the appliances, hot water heater and furnace on one side, and a good amount of storage on the other, behind the curtains. As for the floor, I painted it, then stenciled on the tiles. Looked great, and did not impede on the door opening!!
Great video, Fia! Thank you for the inspiration! For the floors, I was thinking you could try peel and stick floor tiles! Some of them are really pretty! Looking forward to your other videos!
Ok since you asked what we would do for the rug situation around the vent… I would buy a super low pile rug runner and carefully cut out space for the vent and screw it in over the rug, and use rug tape to tape down the rest of the runner so it’s not floppy or movable. This could be so good 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I looooove what youve done for your sister
I love this makeover! For the floor, you could do a canvas rug, cut out where the vent is and stencil a design that helps it blend in, or stencil right over the vent so it disappears.
WOW!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing!!!! It's MORE THAN Pinterest-worthy!!!!!!! I am blown away by the transformation!!! And on a budget as well!!!!!! WOW!! Well done (as always!) Fia!!!!
Yesss I've just curtaind and tension rodded everything ugly in my house😂😂Cost me nothing but gives me soooo much pleasure Love you channel FIA Love from Yorkshire England xx
Absolutely love what you’ve done so far! Stencil the floor, so many patterns, you can use any color you like. You won’t need a rug. I ordered from Cutting Edge Stencils for my bathroom floor, turned out AHHHMAZING!
Thank you for such wonderful inspiration Ms. Fia…. YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT…always PERFECTION‼️ I can only imagine how excited your sister was… it turned out beautiful
You did a fantastic job on your sister’s laundry room! She is definitely blessed to have you as her decorator! Questions…..I recently made changes to my laundry room and wanted to put a curtain to hide the furnace and water heater, but was told that a curtain too close to those items may prevent airflow or may be a hazard due to the furnace. Do you have that concern?
what are you talking about, not pinterest worthy...it totally is...I love how your stretched every dollar and made it look so stylish.well done!
"Don't let it bully you into doing nothing" --best advice for the laundry room and life's other struggles
This is my new life quote now. ❤
In a world where almost every other home decor channel I watch tries to sell us something, you come in and transform everything with such budget !! You are a gem of a person Fia! So glad to have found you!!
no one is trying to sell you anything you dont have to buy anything you can just get inspired either with free or paid ideas but its not that deep!
Your sister is blessed to have someone like you in her life!
It's wonderful to have such a close bond
paint that floor tile like a checker board include that air flow space, will be complicit view and no need any runner there.
This was going to be my comment as well. I would just do a diagonal black-and-white floor and paint the vent as well, so if it lands on a black tile, paint it black, or if it lands on a white tile, paint it white or half black, half white

Fía, you’re so down to earth and speak to the budget of so many of us “common mortals” (regular moms and regular humans). You’re God-sent!
I love the color change in those cupboards

Beautiful. This is by far my favorite room makeover. I love the fact that you turned an eyesore into something pinterest worthy. ❤❤
Your sister is very lucky. You did a great job! And yes it is Pinterest worthy.

ABSOLUTELY! $10 is $10!❤ like the idea of one out and one in.
Awesome makeover, Fia!! You are amazing. What about painting a rug (or rugs) on the floor for pattern/color?
Love that idea!
the curtain was such a simple yet brilliant idea 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I'm amazed at what you did with little cost. It looks wonderful. I'm sure your sister is very grateful.
Our Queen FIA has done it again!!! 👏
Love these videos !
Looks beautiful!
I would do a thin washable runner & cut out where the floor vent is, with a heavily patterned rug it wouldn't be very noticable .
Such a great makeover! You stretched a dollar & still created an expensive looking space! I LOVE your videos, your style & your advice.
Well done! Who cares if it's not Pinterest worthy; this is real life! You made it beautiful!
You do incredible things with average spaces. It looks so transformed.
You have no idea how much this just helped me. Thank you.
“Not Pinterest worthy” I respectfully disagree! It’s fabulous and real, and must make your sister smile and have peace when she sees it! Well done!
Awe thank you so much!!!

Floor paint n stencil

Love the stone-look backsplash and the cabinet door transformation!
Wow, those cabinets got a serious upgrade! ❤️

💞Fia beautifying our world one room at a time 💕
I got these black rubber mats with small holes in it and I ran ribbons on the outer holes…it’s adorable
No money makeovers are my favorite! Would love to see more!
Absolutely gorgeous transformation ❤
Wow, I wish you were my sister! That transformation is fabulous 😮

Me too!
Your sister is so lucky to have you! You made a huge difference in this space. Very inspiring!!
Very stylish!! Well done!
It turned out beautiful 😍... maybe carpet tiles and cut the hole for the vent.
Looks amazing and so many things can be hidden behind that curtain too 🤣🤣 your still the bestest 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love floor flats from Carolina Creekhouse. I have a runner in my laundry room. Low profile, easy to clean and lots of fun patterns
You can put a runner down and cut the hole in the runner to accommodate the vent. Put the vent cover on top of the hole on the runner.
Definitely Pinterest worthy. Great job!
Seriously...you've transformed this room so wonderfully with your creative, genius Ideas...!! ❤
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it!
Gorgeous! Maybe you can put down some stick on tiles for design on the floor or paint/stencil that area.
That's a fantastic idea!
As always, a Beautiful job!!😊
Great job, Fia!
Thank you for such wonderful inspiration Ms. Fia…. YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT…always PERFECTION‼️ I can only imagine how excited your sister was… it turned out beautiful
For the floor, you can get peel and stick tiles in many different patterns that go right over the existing tiles.
Stunning 🎄

Wowserz very informative
I'm happy you found it helpful! 😊
