Yup, my friends and I sat through the credits as we normally do, and was surprised when we saw Neil Young's name in the credits, so I was curious on why that was. Thanks for this explanation!
I cried in this scene because in that moment, they were in their own world and no monsters and for once they could enjoy peace and each other's presence.
I thought the dance was a sweet moment for the couple the first time I saw the film. Now, I can't stop crying every time I see this scene! Emily Blunt's acting in this scene was PERFECT. It broke me. I'm glad they had this moment before all the heart-pounding chase scenes began.
I watched this movie just over a week ago and I just cant stop thinking about it!! Everything was fantastic! The song they chose was perfect for this movie and scene. Harvest Moon is absolutely one of the most beautiful songs ever written imo!
This song is so very connected with my parents as they are no longer together. It's even more bittersweet because my dad passed away on the "Harvest Moon" in September (22) this past year and he always loved my mom no matter what. This scene and song are both incredibly overwhelming! Thanks for sharing!
These two together was my favourite part of the scene....and I love Harvest Moon, by Neil Young. Being a Canadian too, I love the fact they got some content in there....and the first line was very appropriate in the song. Underscores the entire movie. Thanks for the facts about the song and Neil Young. Learned something new today.
Excellent research and information. I LOVE this movie! I'd seen trailers, and the "living-in-silence" theme was mildly intriguing, but I really wasn't interested. My first viewing, however, I was awestruck--SUCH a magnificent presentation! Every actor holds their own, talent-wise. The movie exhibits various reasons the simplest ideas are very productive. Krasinski is my new, fav, screenwriter and actor; shining on every level. Emily has been my fav since I first saw "The Young Victoria." The scene in TYV, when she stands up to her idiot step-father, and frightened albeit timid mother, makes you forget Emily's youth, in the role and acting career; powerful scene, extraordinarily, talented actress. Tell me ONE woman who can't empathize with full, birth contractions, i.e. pain, but not being allowed to make, any, noise! Emily never disappoints. Kudos to the movie, the movie's premise, and being privileged seeing a "tight-budget" script blow audiences away ultimately. If you haven't seen the movie--even if you think you know the story--watch it anyway. Any scene will draw you in. Thank you for your information.
It's kindasad and I think Stephen King had something to do with it because they wouldn't just start off with the movie with the kid dying 😭but I love your videos ❤️
It was an investment scene. It would pay dividends when he'd sacrifice himself for his family. But, even before I knew it this scene was one of my favorites. I remember it being loud compared to the overall silence of the movie and the moment with the song was perfect.
They could still see it, it reminds me of the actress that plays the older sister. She is def in the film and real life. You can tell with the sign language, dialogue, etc to see the mood. You don't have to hear to enjoy it, you can watch the moments and be able to share the feelings. 💚
I've never seen the American version of 'The Office', so haven't really seen much of Krasinksi except memes. But when I saw him in 'A Quiet Place', I thought "Oooo! Handsooome!" lol
How do you know the characters names? I'm just curious because I remember watching the movie and noticing that they never said each other's names. Did they write it down somewhere? Great video :)
I had never heard of the song but I loved the scene and wondered about it. I finally figured out the artist and title when it played on Sirius XM when I was in the car with some friends. They played it over dinner later and I explained the scene to them. I'm hoping to show them the movie or at least that clip. Thanks!
Ok I need help. My kids and I are in debate over whether Evelyn screamed during labor Before or After the fireworks went off. I believe it was after. Please help us with this!! It’s driving us crazy! Well, just me I guess.
Kdot Tdot Just left the theater and she definitely screamed after. I remember having a moment of panic because she screamed right after the very last one and I thought it might draw the alien back to her. Lol.
Kaylin B omg thank you!!! I knew she waited!! I told my kids there was no way she would’ve screamed without hearing the fireworks first! Especially after all she’d already done to not make any noise! Ah the relief she must’ve felt! It was my favorite scene!
Kdot Tdot haha I thought the same thing! Us Mommas know how agonizing it must have been to have to keep quiet during birth. The relief she must have felt to hear that first firework and finally let it all out!
Pomidor could be just director decision, but deaf people often like to, for example, feel the vibrations of the bass of loud music , so it could be she likes laying on the ground because she can feel things more that way. If a monster is running by she's more likely to feel it if she's lying down. Also maybe it helps her feel a little more "normal" and able to interact with the world a little more.
I wasn't familiar with the song and musically, I found it to be an odd choice. It felt too..... loud?? ....and not slow and romantic enough for the scene. Sure, the lyrics are fitting, but it actually took me out of the movie for a bit. But now I know that the song has a special meaning for the actor/director, I am more than stoked for it to be in the movie.
Did you enjoy A Quiet Place and did you spot any other hidden meanings in the movie?
I loved, loved, loved the movie! It was so suspensful 😱😱😱
Me too! Am torn between wanting more and hoping it stays a slice of standalone goodness. :-)
Yup, my friends and I sat through the credits as we normally do, and was surprised when we saw Neil Young's name in the credits, so I was curious on why that was. Thanks for this explanation!
My pleasure, Roth! :-)
My favorite movie of all time! I can't wait for Part III to come out!
I cried in this scene because in that moment, they were in their own world and no monsters and for once they could enjoy peace and each other's presence.
It truly was a beautiful moment, you're absolutely right, Villia! :-)
Gaaaaaaaaaay
You say that they were enjoying peace, but weren't they having just enough of that...?
And the lyrics in that scene too, "come a little bit closer and hear what I have to say" I thought that was very clever as well
I am a huge John Krasinski fan and loved every part of this movie. Except when his character died.
Cindy Bentley what?!?!? Dude spoiler alert that shit.
ThornHub why are you watching a video about the meaning of a scene from a film you haven't seen?
Ooh yeah....
Matthew Randell thats a very good point hah
I completely agree, his death scene actually made me cry
The scene where they dance to Harvest moon is one of my favs . I think he made a great choice for a song . Love this movie .
I thought the dance was a sweet moment for the couple the first time I saw the film. Now, I can't stop crying every time I see this scene! Emily Blunt's acting in this scene was PERFECT. It broke me. I'm glad they had this moment before all the heart-pounding chase scenes began.
Lol I didn't even realize the characters had names.
The names are only revealed in the credits.
I watched this movie just over a week ago and I just cant stop thinking about it!! Everything was fantastic! The song they chose was perfect for this movie and scene. Harvest Moon is absolutely one of the most beautiful songs ever written imo!
That earbud scene was one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie
Wow, that was brilliant! I never thought you could fit so much meaning into a song, or into such a short video! Thanks!
This song is so very connected with my parents as they are no longer together. It's even more bittersweet because my dad passed away on the "Harvest Moon" in September (22) this past year and he always loved my mom no matter what. This scene and song are both incredibly overwhelming! Thanks for sharing!
My absolute pleasure, J K! :-) And thanks for sharing why this song was so meaningful for you and your family.
Whats song name please?

Huge ‘Office’ fan and immediately thought this was for Jim and Pam ❤️
Also, the opening line of the song is perfect for their situation. Come a little bit closer, hear what I have to say.
A Quiet Place is such a great movie. And this scene is very sweet. I loved it
I love the song Harvest Moon. It always makes me weep. 😭

Awesome research Jan! This movie was incredible and so sad when the father died
Thanks! :-) Indeed it was! :-(
Robb Stark yeaah I was crying like a baby when it happened.
Rachel M Definitely all the feels!
It's kindasad and I think Stephen King had something to do with it because they wouldn't just start off with the movie with the kid dying 😭but I love your videos ❤️
Ya I know
It was an investment scene. It would pay dividends when he'd sacrifice himself for his family. But, even before I knew it this scene was one of my favorites. I remember it being loud compared to the overall silence of the movie and the moment with the song was perfect.
Wow so many layers!! It's definitely one of my favorite moment of this amazing movie!!
And there's an irony for me. I know someone who can't go see this movie because of Tinnitus . . . they wouldn't be able to hear it.
They could still see it, it reminds me of the actress that plays the older sister. She is def in the film and real life. You can tell with the sign language, dialogue, etc to see the mood. You don't have to hear to enjoy it, you can watch the moments and be able to share the feelings. 💚
Fantastic movie!! Didn’t touch my popcorn at all.
I didn't notice more than half of the things that you said. I love your videos
Aw, really appreciate that! :-)
I loved this scene in the movie. I totally cried.
I've never seen the American version of 'The Office', so haven't really seen much of Krasinksi except memes. But when I saw him in 'A Quiet Place', I thought "Oooo! Handsooome!" lol
It was a very sweet and special scene
So cool! Loved this scene in the movie! This video just made it all the more awesome 👌🏼

Made my day! :-)
Flicks And The City 😍😅
How do you know the characters names? I'm just curious because I remember watching the movie and noticing that they never said each other's names. Did they write it down somewhere? Great video :)
MySweetCreationz in the credits at the end it says the actor and then the character name!
I had never heard of the song but I loved the scene and wondered about it. I finally figured out the artist and title when it played on Sirius XM when I was in the car with some friends. As a student who is in a “movies and music” class (we focus on music thats played in movies) that is NOT the *only* song in the movie... but okay.
Hyped for A Quiet Place 2!!
We saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting this video
Name's song?
It was beautiful scene.
This movie remembered me the person I loved the most
Amazing movie and they're the perfect couple
Being a quiet place, it is full of jumpscares

Kaylin B yes, exactly! I teared up. That poor woman!
After
Making noise is not a joke Jim, milions of families suffer every year!
I thought this scene had something with it because I thought it seemed kinda pointless
Sounds like a stupid reason to purchase the use of a song that the movie budget could not afford.
Why is This girl so ofen spleeping on the ground?

Brandon Weiss Really interesting points - thanks for letting us know, Brandon! :-)
Brandon Weiss Thanks!

The fact someone could make a song so expenses to use...get off your high horse
Songq
You don’t know they are aliens.
Loved it
I loved the movie
Watch the movie and you'll know what it is for
I just love conspiracy theories.
So romantic love them, song and scene
Omg

I'd totally recommend seeing it if you get the chance, Ayraldo! :-)
No one saw quit place
Quit
i didnt know they split up :-(
? They didn't split up.
Martin Alcoser They didn't leave each other; they were forced apart by circumstances - Lee sacrificed himself to save his family. :-)
Angie Brodland i misunderstood what jan said , oops!
Flicks And The City i misunderstood what you said of the refrence of the song to the couple
Martin Alcoser No problem at all, Martin! Sorry I didn't make it clearer in the video. :-)
