With your ruleset, a ghost mon, a mon with a life steal move, or just a slightly bulky mon with leftovers can all beat 1.000.000 lions
Based on this a Trevenant with Harvest, a Leppa Berry, and Horn Leech just solos every lion.

None of entries are embellishments. That magcargo is simply doing what ponyta and sharpedo did which is turn off it's bodily functions to avoid hurting those it cares about. In one episode Brock pointed out that sharpedos rough skin wasn't effecting him anymore and in another episode ponytas flames didn't hurt ash once he gained it's trust. The professors write the pokedex entries and they've spent decades researching pokemon to discover their mysteries and wouldn't just make things up. Pokemon is a game where the only way to communicate information about pokemon is through the pokedex. The pokedex was game freaks intention and hold all the feats any pokemon should ever need. A mountain a level attack from a gigalith should do the trick or maybe a mach speed multi mountain level close combat from a machamp ? The anime is also inaccurate at times and wasn't made to portray the pokedex entries.
the issue is that the games, the pokédex and the anime follow 3 entirely different sets of logic. you can only stick to one imo. and i think the lions win in all 3
There are very much embilishments in the dex entries, no offense. Lions still handily lose, but dex entries aren't why.
Ranged attacks paired with flying and underwater pokemon are a bigger reason though. Or digging pokemon. Or pokemon made of literal fire or lava.

Kyogre and Groudon literally change the earth by showing up and this is seen in game. Huge quantities of the lions are killed by the floods and volcanic destruction alone. Like the legendaries just based on what we can physically see them do to the planet throughout the series would be enough. By their very nature dialga, palkia, and giritina should be able to basically do it alone. They dont have to use moves to manipulate the world around them. This also seems to underestimate the destructive power of moves. This seems to be assuming its 1v1s but if you had a large group of lions and say Pikachu rains down a thunderbolt or two thats not going to take out a single lion thats going to have huge effects on the entire field. I also stuggle with the idea that lions could ever kill steel type pokemon. If a lion bites down on a magnemite with static that is in fact a lion that is now paralyzed and dying of hunger while the little steel magnet boy just continues obliviously floating around unfazed.

Yeah, I'm just going to copy some other folks and bring up that if you're doing single battles only rather than double or horde battles where spread moves are a thing, allowing infinite PP from ethers should have sealed the deal for the Pokémon since the lions should never have gotten off their attacks in the first place.

Here's a major flaw that I didn't see anyone mentioning, and that is Lions are NOT Pokémon. They don't have types and most importantly they don't use moves. There is a distinct difference between a general action and a Pokémon move.
Pokemon are also surprisingly durable. A lvl 1 caterpie can take the most powerful Pokémon move to the face and the most it will do is faint. If that is the case, then a simple lion slap or bite would do jack diddly squat to any Pokemon, regardless of what they're made of.

Counter to the first argument: The sun in the Pokémon world is different from the one in our world.
Prove it
Arceus is literally a God. Dialga or Palkia alone are capable of destroying and recreating the universe (lore). Those pokemon are literally just small parts of arcues(lore). If not, rayquaza chills in the ozone layer, maybe chucks down a few meteors, and happily waits for the lions to kill themselves (lore). Kyogre floods the entire earth with its presence (lore). Primal groudon is so powerful that water evaporates nearby him… that’s more than enough to kill the lions when they’re nearby (game mechanics). Hell, a steelix can’t even be fucking scratched by a lion, he can just chill underground and wait for the lions to follow, inevitably being trapped underground because steelixs tunnel system doesn’t have a ladder (anime and lore). Let’s just say that even with a billion lions, they can’t hurt pokemon. Eternatus can just forcefully dynamax every Pokémon and make them wreak havok (lore and story). Well, the pokemon have such a high durability that they could probably sleep off the lions attacks, literally not even being badly damaged by anything, hell even Ashs pikachu can no sell attacks which can vaporise concrete or cut through trees like butter. Lions can’t do shit.

While I do appreciate the more analytical approach taken in this video, the way the pokemon are simulated puts them at an unfair disadvantage. For the sake of simplification you made it into a numbers game, 1 pokemon using their strongest attack against 1 lion using its strongest attack. But the pokemon's strength lies in strategy and outstanding individuals, not numbers. In the 1v1 format, a funbro set could easily solo the whole billion. And if the 1v1 format was abandoned in favor of a free for all, any ghost type whose move's pp adds up to more than 56(scratch's pp) can struggle stall the lions. This is all still ignoring dex entries, because if they aren't ignored then Yveltal wins by default, "When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more."

im pretty sure any Pokémon with the harvest ability to infinitely spawn leppa berries absolutely dominates, and it's extremely improbable to miss a 50% roll 10 times in a row to miss the chance (plus just use sunny day to make it 100% lol)

If we are just going by game cannon we know gen 3 legendaries can used like literal doomsday devices. 1 billion lions would fit in Texas. Remember lions roamed most of the earth at one point but some are on the brink of extension to monkeys with sticks.

Considering humans have a hard with mild hurricanes lions stand no chance against mass flooding or even droughts. Remember a rock smaller than ny took out 90% of all life on land. You could also just starve the lions too death.
And what if you remove the limitation of Pokémon only being able to attack one target and have them be able to attack as many as they want with any moves?

One point I would like to make. This is to stop 'what if the Lion did this' bullshit. This would be Canon, fucking Canon Pokemon vs canon lions. What I mean by canon lions, is how they act in real life. And as you know real life lions aren't able to do the be things you guys say fanon lions do.
I said this because every other video was more than a year old
The problem with the simulation, is that almost every pokemon has a speed stat above 25, and if they are level 100, with the lions being level 17, the lions will never outspeed the pokemon. This means that the lions will never get a single hit in on a pokemon faster than them, if the pokemon has infinite pp. Take Appletun for example. It has 30 base speed, which is already double the lions, and with the level difference, no matter how bad its nature or Ivs are, it will always outspeed the lions. Have it hold a leppa berry, give it recycle, and any attacking move, and it could kill every single lion itself.

Well.... Not exactly if the pokemon truly have infinite PP than any ghost type would kill a billion lions. As it was stated all the lion has the move scratch wich is a normal move and of course ghost are immune to.
Can't use game mechanics, by that logic 1000 plushies could beat a Nuclear missile. You gotta go by dex, anime or the manga. In any of them, the pokemon will DEMOLISH.
Hell you could limit yourself to only game cutscene feats and still win for the Pokémon. It really says a lot that in order for lions to win in any version basically every Pokemon ability must be taken away from the Pokemon and even still the lions can still lose

Thats using pokedex entries again, in the end you can defeat any pokemon with another pokemon that higher level and has decent moves so even a ratata or a magicarp can defeat god. If they can be defeated by a 9 year old then they arnt that good imo

question seeing as you are using mainline game logic to answer this question would your opinion change if instead of a one vs one battle system if instead the battle system was more like mystery dungeon? Because in reality the fight would not be orderly or clean cut but instead an all out brawl where a move light thunder could one shot multiple opponent at once.

The pokedex is not wrong, we have seen what is described there multiple times, the reason they didn't die to marcago is because
1. It is it's body temperature, the heat doesn't matter if it doesn't spread enough.
2. Humans can survive pokemon attacks.
3. Pokemon can hold back their powers.
And your other examples over it are weird as well, like, why does knocking mountains or jumping the eifel tower sound weird? We have seen pokemon move at extreme speeds, jump very high, and even cause massive explosions, hell in the manga a dragonair nuked a city and a drifloon caused a mountain dwarfing explosion, in the anime pikachu destroyed a small mountain early in his journey, piplup created a massive whirlpool, buneary froze a lake and sunk a ship too, that just shows what they can do, not what they fo all the time
And yes, the anime and manga are canon to the games, we got evidence on that.
Anyway yeah, using game marchanics made explicitly to have a balanced match, while translating lions as pokemon obviously gives lions the wins, but using real logic and information, a lot of pokemon would solo them

So first turn mew gets sturdy shedinja uses a random move and the pokemon that had sturdy uses earthquake

Or they are all dead cuz of earthquake
Even if we only go by what we SEE in the anime and games.. the lions lose instantly because of Pokemon Emerald.
Or ghost pokemon.. like just one ghost pokemon, it'd take a long time.. but just one ghost pokemon
Mewtwo can learn both Recover and Recycle. Give it a Leppa berry at the start of the fight, and let it sweep through all one billion lions solo. The lions will never out-damage recover, even with the pauses to use Recycle, so Mewtwo just has to grind away at a billion of them.

the problem with this type of scaling is that video game pokemon are made to be more balanced due to that fact that the game makers dont want every running around with 6 mewtwos and destorying everyone and the pokemon anime is made for kids so they obviously arent gonna have the whole gang fucking die so the poke dex is really the only reliable source
Pokedex is the only reliable source:
- Gardevoir makes a black hole to protect it's trainer, killing the trainer and destroying the whole world.
- Wailord according to it's volume and density should be lighter than air floating to the atmosphere like a balloon, impossible to submerge under water.
- Tyranitar's body can't be harmed by any sort of attack, so Pokemons can't damage it in any way, doesn't matter that it has x4 weakness against fight type, it can't be harmed.
- Trainers with Victini always win, doesn't matter against who, it's impossible to be defeated.
Yeah... About the Pokedex being reliable...

Rayquaza runs away and the lions cannot harm him meaning the Pokémon are not all dead yet and the lions will starve and be dead because science and stuff.

Cap there is literally another video that goes way better into detail that states literally states all the reasons why the lions would get clapped
Alright here's one argument and be aware I am not a mathematician, it could actually be something like 10^204 and I'm just really bad at math
Over three hundred Pokemon learn helping hand, and the bonuses multiply each other for example a 100 power move boosted by 2 helping hands first gets boosted by 50% so 150 then the next boost is improving it to 225 since that's 150% of 150
So have Kyogre use water spout with the boost of that many helping hands, Water Spout is a Spread move so it will hit ALL the lions at once, and have Grafaiai use Doodle on Stonjurner so ALL Pokemon without any "special abilities" like disguise or hunger switch give 30% boost each to Kyogre, Kyogre doesn't boost themselves though.
Now we can have Oranguru use Instruct to make it after Kyogre uses the steroid boosted a second time and Smeargle can copy that so it happens 3 times
We can also have a Prankster Riolu set up wide guard to block priority effects, then Greninja with Mat Block to protect all Pokemon from all damaging effects and Klefki with Crafty Shield to block all non damaging effects
This would basically make it at least 10^64 damage, and that doesn't include the 2 uses of Instruct, for scale 1 billion is 10^12 and the amount of DNA base pairs in the world is around 10^37, the amount of seconds that ticked down since the start of time is 10^20
To know how big 10^64 looks, a cheat is when doing 10^X write a 1 and follow it with X 0s
So the damage would be a 1 followed by over 64 0s x3

i am 8 months late but in the pokemon anime when there is a hot pokemon they say that it doesnt hurt the ones they trust for example when ash wanted to ride ponita first he fire hurt but then the ponita trusted him and it wasnt hot anymore maybe magacrgo lowered his temprature
@@DistractedCoderI mean there is an argument that Macargo can control its heat since we know fire types can control there flames temperatures which is why Ponyta and Rapidash can be ridden. Also if you are going to complain about the anime invalidati no the Pokédex then at least use anime feats because technically speaking if we were to exclude the anime there is nothing actually stopping the Pokédex entries from the games from being technically true. Of course this doesn’t matter cause Dialga and Palkia can reset the universe which is a game cutscene feat so it is definitely cannon!!

ONE haunter solos, hell, ANY ghost type pokemon solos, they CANNOT be hit by physical attacks. which is all the lions have in damage.
The reason I think Pokémon would win because we got eternamax eternatus, Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Mega Rayquaza, Arceus, 100% form Zygarde, ultra Necrozma, Sun form Necrozma, moon form Necrozma, Yveltal, Palkia, Giratina, Dialga, thunderous, tornadus, landerous, enamorus, UNbound Hoopa. just these Pokemon could take out them

I just though of something. The good old F.E.A.R strategy that pokémon trainers use. Just use a ratatta or the togedemaru with focus sash and stursy respectively, and then finish them off with quock attack and spikey shield. Also, the "7 best items" weren't the best.
No matter what you say their are 4 gods that in every piece of material including the games created the universe and keep it stable. Also darkrai can scale near dialga and palkia. So that's 4 universal + Pokemon and a universal arceus

this is genuinely the dumbest calc i've seen for this argument any move like surf earthquake rock slide blizzard etc. would hit ALL THE LIONS as that is the nature of those moves so already even with ingame pokemon they stand no chance.
edit: now that i think about it treating the lions like pokemon is already a huge buff so that means they couldn't even touch the pokemon without said buff showing this argument is pointless cause the pokemon win 1000% no matter what

There are many pokemon that can defeat 1 million or more lions alone, kyogre can literally flood the earth and easily wipe them out with oranguru and smeargle alone dialga can stop time and wipe them out, and there are many pokemon that are literally just stone, steel, and poison that lions wouldnt be able to damage
i know this is very simplified I just wanted to point out that if we're doing infinite PP, and leftovers already made the lions lose, recover, synthesis and the likes would too

If you don’t use the games unfair mechanics that heavily favor the lions which still isn’t enough to win sometimes by the way then you can allow canon Pokémon abilities that are consistent across all mediums like Dialga and Palkia resetting reality cause that’s a think they threatened to do in game, manga, and anime
@@joshuafrazier3904He just used game mechanics. Gave lions 20 in all stats, level 17, and dealing 0.1 damage; while the pokemon got level 100, 5 items, megas, gigantamax and terrastal. How is this unfair to the pokemon? You cant be serious
