- Here are two Belgian 2 year old blonde mares that have just been naturals from the start. Meet Penny & Cash …….. Some are just born to be GREAT and these two are just that. Quality old style chunky smaller blonde mares like these are just absolutely few and far between in the draft horse world today. Standing 15.3 hands now but will grow a little and probally finish out around 16.1 or so. These gals work so well together and are a pleasure to drive already. Soft responsive mouths and eager to please the teamster holding the lines behind them. Keep in mind there only 2 when you watch this video and there already better than most teams 2-3 times there age. Im telling y’all , THIS TEAM IS SOMETHING SPECIAL !!!!!

Nice young team, good training for 2 yr. old,s not doing any harm pulling a lightweight wagon,
teaches them all the basics for future pulling , you can teach young teams a lot at this age
without doing any harm !!! good job Steven

Its a Pioneer Torsion Axel 1/2 ton gear with a fiberglass bed. Excellent small training wagon that we use all day everyday. If they are only 2, why are they working? They are still babies and won’t be done growing for at least 3 more years.

@@HasteDraftHorsesandMules I am not saying they shouldn’t be trained or even walking in a harness. But not pulling. I see so many drafts in rescue that have severe arthritis much too young. 2 year olds are still babies and great care should be taken to make sure they aren’t injured or worked before their bodies are ready.
@@peg9202 well I understand your concern. I’ve been doing this my whole life I’m 36 years old. We’ve always started our young colts at two and never had any issues. It’s not like we’re pulling thousands and thousands of pounds of them to death we’re pulling a very light wagon that has a fiberglass bed on it and very very light. I understand your concern. @@HasteDraftHorsesandMules I am nearly twice your age and I see so many drafts at the other end of their lives, crippled by age 20, arthritic and often skinny and neglected - NOT that you are doing that!! Your horses are beautiful and I am glad to know they aren’t being worked hard. I get protective of drafts. They are such special horses - honest, hard working and kind. Thank you for your time.
