This was *exactly* the video I needed! The needle nosed pliers trick to put it back on is essential. Thanks for making this!

Hi, I have stock Seimitsu ls32 and want to change the base spring to something with a bit more tension. I was browsing the web looking for a spring when I found this random Reddit post where it says that it's hard to get the e-clip back on without a special tool and started to hesitate a bit. Any idea if this is true? I can't paste the url to the post because youtube will just block out my comment outright. If it helps the post itself is 5y old and the title is called "Sanwa Spring in a Seimitsu LS-32". If you find it the info i stated should be the first and only comment on the post.

That post you found is a bit misleading and you shouldn't be discouraged. Here's what you need to know about the LS-32.
There are a few different versions of LS-32 joysticks - older models have a C-Clip and newer models have an E-Clip. E-Clips are easily removed and replaced without special tools (as in my videos), while C-Clips can be a bit tricky (at first) to remove and put back (but once you know how to do it, it's even easier to remove than an E-Clip).
Do a search online for "LS-32 C-Clip" and "LS-32 E-Clip" to see the difference and determine which one you have.
If you have an E-Clip on your LS-32 then following instructions from any of my videos will allow you to remove it and replace it using a small screwdriver and needle nose pliers.
If you have a C-Clip, you will need to use a tool to "spread" the C-Clip. Most people will tell you to buy C-Clip pliers (also called Circlip Pliers), but that is not necessary. You can use small scissors to spread it - small manicure scissors or compact scissors from a pocket knife would work well. Another option is to rip off (bend) the C-Clip with needle nose pliers and buy an E-Clip to replace it ($0.50 to $1.50 online).
      I hope this helps.
      Good luck.
