In the 3rd season, we also learn that Eren gained powers of which he can see the future when touching a royal (Historia) which was also foreshadowed in the first episode.
The first time i finished aot my jaw was just on the floor. Its literally so good. The Plot. The animation. The Voice acting. The foreshadowing is immaculate. Everything in this anime is just perfect. Isayama GOAT.

Yes. I was wondering about that too. I guess since he can see future the future is also kinda like written. So he doesn't really have to have his titans powers. It's gonna come to him no matter what happens. People say that's why he laughed when Sasha died. As you would remember it was kind of a psychotic laugh. Eren knew in that moment that he really can't change anything. So it was faith/destiny all along.
Also someone other than me who have read the manga explained as: it’s what the narrator said. While Eren didn’t have the Attack Titan ability at that time, it doesn’t matter. The wielder of the Attack Titan can transcend time and space to show other holders of it images of the past, present or future or even talk to them. And with later on having fully controlled the Founding Titan power as well, he can pretty much contact anyone that is an Eldian (or a Subject of Ymir) whether they hold a Titan or not.
And if you recall Mr. Kruger (the former attack titan before Dr. Jaeger) said to Dr. Jaeger that he needs to do it "if you want to save Mikasa and Armin" At the time they didn't even know who Mikasa and Armin are.

I've found some more interesting easter eggs or references than this such as the Zeke's beast titan might be based on another myth A Hairy Giant that hurls boulders (I think it was somewhat biblical, not about to look it up atm while on my mobile but people are interested just drop a comment and I'd drop it here on another time) Also that certain characters here may be literal parallela of characters in norse myth but I'd reserve that as theory atm since the show hasn't completed as of this time and I am not planning to read the manga till the anime is over

I didn't like the ending because it didn't tie the plot points as for example what happened to Yelena, or why Eren was not sure what he was doing, but knew he needed to do it anyway. It could've needed some time for refinement. To be honest would've liked more chaotic ending to show off the tragedy and bit of historical (Shakespearean ending) to make the sacrifice feel impactful, but alas... Paradis Island is back in great danger when 20 million survivors with technology (note how city Levi was in was still intact) vs. 1,4 million with no titan powers. i could give u two more interesting things to think about. 1. in the first chapter where we are taken to marley (i.e. the battle with the middle east allied forces) check the name of the enemy. that's right "allied forces". we all know which side japan was on. 2. go back and watch every single op and ed in lesser speed or something, and if ur a literature fanatic like me, you'll notice certain specific camera motions and character placements in certain moments of the songs.
an example for the second point is the song "great escape" which is an ending song in season 2. check how only reiner, annie and bertolt are leaning on one side of the wall and the other characters are leaning in a direction completely opposite to them.
In the season 3 title sequence when you can see Erwin standing with all the soldiers who died i instantly had a thought that that meant he himself died

Just finished AOT. This was my first Anime series at the age of 25. How just I missed such a great show in my life? I felt like Gabi, thinking Anime was just for devil kids. But now I need to be like Falco, ready to learn and accept.

Similar to yourself, started & finished reading Berserk as my 1st manga within 2021 at 30, followed by Blue Period. I'm so thankful that I didn't have to wait for chapters during long hiatus . I've caught up with AoT over the break last December so will read the manga before the rest of season 4 gets released. Vangabond is on the manga list for 2022.

So started watching this again with the Wife (she got hooked instantly) but something I think everyone has missed early that blew my mind: After the Trost attack, Erin just woke up surrounded my the military no knowing wtf just happened. A cannon ball is shot at them, Erin half-transforms to block the cannon ball. very subtlety, Armin noticed how some flowers just instantly grew at the same time underneath them. The instant flowers haven't been been brought up since.

Yes. I was wondering about that too. I guess since he can see future the future is also kinda like written. So he doesn't really have to have his titans powers. It's gonna come to him no matter what happens. People say that's why he laughed when Sasha died. As you would remember it was kind of a psychotic laugh. Eren knew in that moment that he really can't change anything. So it was faith/destiny all along.
Also someone other than me who have read the manga explained as:
it’s what the narrator said. While Eren didn’t have the Attack Titan ability at that time, it doesn’t matter. The wielder of the Attack Titan can transcend time and space to show other holders of it images of the past, present or future or even talk to them. And with later on having fully controlled the Founding Titan power as well, he can pretty much contact anyone that is an Eldian (or a Subject of Ymir) whether they hold a Titan or not.

it’s kind of explained in the last chapters of the manga, through the power of the attack titan he can not only see but communicate with the past too and show them the future, I guess that since he ends up having that power it’s almost like he always had it, he couldn’t use it at that point but the future him could “talk” to the past him, don’t want to go too deep since it could be a spoiler but he did that other times too

I guess y'all missed the foreshadowing lessons, I have a theory that says you get dreams of the titan you're gonna inherit even before inheriting it ... because season 4 starts of with Falco dreaming about using the titan killing equipment, probably foreshadowing him dreaming about future events ... that ability of seeing glimpses of the future being of titan users and to be users. Foreshadowing that the amoured titan will be Falco next ... or maybe even some other titan ... maybe he will eat Eren at the end 😱

@gods fried foreskin I don't think so, the ending was changed because of Erehisu fans pressure. I didn't like the ending because it didn't tie the plot points as for example what happened to Yelena, or why Eren was not sure what he was doing, but knew he needed to do it anyway. It could've needed some time for refinement. To be honest would've liked more chaotic ending to show off the tragedy and bit of historical (Shakespearean ending) to make the sacrifice feel impactful, but alas... Paradis Island is back in great danger when 20 million survivors with technology (note how city Levi was in was still intact) vs. 1,4 million with no titan powers.
Before you complain about me not knowing about the manga/anime, I watched all chapters/episodes, and loved them all except 139

i could give u two more interesting things to think about.
1. in the first chapter where we are taken to marley (i.e. the battle with the middle east allied forces) check the name of the enemy. that's right "allied forces". we all know which side japan was on.
2. go back and watch every single op and ed in lesser speed or something, and if ur a literature fanatic like me, you'll notice certain specific camera motions and character placements in certain moments of the songs.
an example for the second point is the song "great escape" which is an ending song in season 2. check how only reiner, annie and bertolt are leaning on one side of the wall and the other characters are leaning in a direction completely opposite to them.
Attack on titan is really a ✨MASTERPIECE✨
