Can you move the tethers in closer and still make it stable?
I would say yes. The strap has a loop sewn into it at the bottom. So you could just shorten the whole strap by tying a big loop into it or just cut it and tie your own loop at the end of it. Great question. -Tom

@evolutionaryTom worked great, was able to move stakes in closer, just wrapped the tethers around and drove into stand. Winds were blowing maybe a steady 8-10mph gust 15-20 maybe. Any higher wind I might would extend the tethers out.
