In this lesson I'll show you how to play a solo acoustic guitar version of "A Lovely Night," featured in the movie La La Land starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. In the film, this song is performed as a duet. With this lesson, my aim is to show you the simplest way to play a simple strum-along of the tune. I use a capo on the 3rd fret in order to avoid difficult chords. In this video I include chords, tabs, and lyrics.

Sure thing, so glad you find them helpful! This one almost drove me into madness ("am I spending too much time on this??") but watching it the next morning, glad I made it. Thanks again!

A few weeks ago I would have said, "I need to stop doing La La Land songs!" but have since learned never to say never. So maybe one day soon :)

+Songnotes oh okay, I mean, you're the only one that has made la la land proper lessons of varied songs. And the "mia and seb's theme" is just beautiful 😊

    Thanks for you work!
Do you plan to work on "The Fools who dream"? I think that is the best song in the movie. Thanks again!
Ooops! I've found already the answer! Looking forward to seeing it here.
    All the Best!

+fnln6050 most definitely - probably in the next couple weeks! About that song, if I may ask: would you prefer a version that uses a capo (allowing for easier chords) or no capo (perhaps requiring tougher chords, but easier to just pick up the guitar and play along with the soundtrack)? This is something I'll need to decide - curious what ppl are more interested in.

      Hi David,
Thanks for response. So, to make it easier for you I can show what I've done already. It's in Open-G tune, but I'm sure you can deal with that without any problems. ;-) Here's the link: docs.google.com/document/d/1701Zqz4iCGH4m7sO6PPJlv9J66H1SXv-P7tyehnbA7Y/pub
Speaking of a capo, I think you can keep it there, but it's more reasonable to name chords as they really are, considering the transposing from a capo.
      Thanks,
      Roman is here.
PS Almost forgot. Chord B there is Bb, and H is B. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am new to guitar so please hold off from judgment and try to help! on the chart above I think that you have to read it upside down with 1st to 6th strings right? Like they go upwards.
Also, what are the numbers on the strings like 3 2 0 etc? Please help. I want to impress my girlfriend.

Amazing, but you just can't do where there are lyrics, you are missing the best part of the song the interlude...
