      @@minimini537 sorry for not replying sooner! Yes I didn't keep it for long. I was fairly impressed with the cameras but the always on display not being fully functional (even though through a third part it it kind of works) and also not being able to use Nova launcher (I refuse to use stock launchers as they are all inferior to Nova 😂) I had to sell it on! Shame really!

Not having a fully functioning always on display and not being able to use Nova launcher (I used this on every android phone as it allows me to set up my home screen in the most precise and personal way for me) were deal breakers really. Some great video there and the OPPO jumps straight to number one in my camera rankings. Certainly if you need up to 30X zoom (good quality) then this even beats out the S23U. The ultra wide is a distance ahead of Pixel, iPhone and S23U, and I much prefer the photos from this one inch sensor than the S23U, where 200mp really adds no value for me as I do not crop or print photos. With the rest of the OPPO experience being excellent it is really a shame it is not a global release. According to my exporter in China, it will cost, all-in, £1200 for the 16GB/256GB Find X6 Pro (£100 less for 12GB). That sounds reasonable, as it has four years support and there are OPPO centres in the UK for warranty issues (my Pixel had to go to Eastern Europe for warranty claims).

      I just got one of these from Aliexpress , IT'S 16GB / 500GB, I paid £834, got it last week , took 4 weeks to get here, can't really say much about it on here, as I have never used or had a phone like this before. The phone it's replacing is a Umidigi F1 which is about 4 years old but still going strong , and still very functional. The main thing I want the Oppo for is taking photos. I know one takes a chance buying things straight from China as they don't take PayPal, and if there is any problem with the phone, it will be a pain sorting out, if that is possible in any way, but so far all the phones that I have bought from China have been A1, and I think I have saved a bit of money as a result.

    If Oppo's goal in making the Find x6 Pro exclusive to China was to make us drool then have far surpassed in their efforts. Not only a gorgeous looking phone but the camera hardware is a dream except for the selfie camera. Out of all the coverage I've watched yours was by far the most in depth and cinematic. The 4k30 from the main sensor in both day and night is beautiful. Wondering besides Sony who will bring 1" sensor to the US first and I hope to see the successor to the Xperia Pro I announced by summer.

    Pity, I require a good front facing camera. Each to their own opinions but I refuse to have to muddle about with an extremely sub par front camera. Like buying a racecar that only turns right. Unless of course you're racing on a right hand track 😮

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England Год назад

      I always like to ask what people use the front camera for? I do not vlog or take selfies so I wonder why it is so important that you would dismiss everything else that surpasses the crowd just because it is only 1080p. Let’s be straight, few selfie cams are good in low light and by using the primary on the OPPO you would get many times better results than say uing the Pixel 7P selfie. The selfie looked fine in daylight for photos and as I share 1080p rather than 4K due to my family not having large storage or data contracts it is moot. Are you a vlogger?

    • @phandroid
      @phandroid  Год назад +2

      This selfie camera is only good in well-lit scenarios, which means your selfies with your friends at a restaurant, concert or sporting event are going to be dark and incredibly noisy. For most people, the selfie camera is the most used camera these days with video calling and for social media. It needs to be a priority.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England Год назад

      @@phandroid Nearly every Chinese phone over the last 15 years have had a 1080p or less selfie cam and billions and billions have been sold. I suppose it is down to the demographic, whether age or culture, not everyone is into that. As for video calling 1080p is how most are compressed so I am not sure that is a big deal, and of course, it is easy to get good lighting. I think that the growth of flip phones is where the selfie super users have gone, so they can use the rear cameras and have a flex mode. OPPO has the N2 Flip for those into selfies and that beats most flagships for selfies via the main cameras.
      I think OPPO knows its market and based on it is only selling in China and they are not bothered with the selfie as much as the US/West, they probably decided to spend more wisely to keep the price down. Remember this is just over $800 in China, much less than S23U. Honor, VIVO and Huawei release a global version so they may have 4K. Obviously OPPO seeing the negativity over a selfie camera are now even less likely to release the Find X6 Pro which is a shame as not all of us care about such things.

    In my opinion, all smartphones at $1000 and more should have this system of 3 really good photo sensors on the back (Samsung, Apple, Google I'm talking to you in particular 🤧), but they should also have a good selfie camera capable of filming in stabilized 4k HDR (here I am speaking to you Chinese manufacturers, apart from Huawei, Honor and Motorola), not to mention a 3D Sonic fingerprint sensor like that of Qualcomm, thank you Vivo.
    When I see smartphones as well equipped as this Oppo Find X6 Pro, but with poor quality selfie sensors and unable to film in stabilized 4k HDR, I wonder if Chinese manufacturers are really paying attention to today's market 🤔
