is nobody going to mention that one of those gaurds during the drill presentation at the end of the parade dropped his rifle at 40:38 and still continued mimicking the drill movements rifleless to maintain uniformity? Idk about all of yall but I'm impressed
They're trained to do that. I was there in 2000/2001 (not the drill platoon tho) but we were told the same. If you fuck up, continue as if nothing has happened. Most people won't notice.
@@feonor26 Thats the ordinary guards. The drillteam have this "mess up" as a regular theme to get the audeinces attention. If you dont know this you are not a member of the HMKG, as they all know the routine... If you look carefully, the rifle is left on a space that do not interfare with the band or drillteams movement..
Consider that they've trained for less than a year. None of these privates are professional soldiers. They are all conscripted for a one year service. Further more, this is the entire battalion, and not just the Drill Troop. You can spot the Drill Troop as they are the only ones using the old Garand M1 rifles, while the rest of the battalion uses the modern HK 416 assault rifle. Then there's of course the Signal Corps playing the music. The two other companies standing out are the visiting Swedish company (far left), and the company of HMKG Veterans (close left).
I've served in the band and I don't think the value of this can be measured in money. Most of HMKG is a regular infantry battalion and silly walk is just a small part of what they do.

I didn't even notice this until you mentioned it. That is uniformity.

@@feonor26 Quite so. Only the militarily minded would.

@@pegasus210563 I know this but that routine is done at the end of the drill and it's done at a show with actual audience, not on this event.
Tusen takk for opplastningen! Gardist fra 2. gardekompani som var spent på å se paraden fra et annet perspektiv enn min egen, så takk igjen!

Band and Drillteam are the Stars of the Guard....arent they?
Yes, thats correct :-)
Depends on how you view it but when it comes to drill, 100%
These guys are real soldiers.
3:47 Notice when the officer commands the unit to attention. Even though he's commanding the entire unit, you can only hear _one_ clap of the boots.

Skall USA Canada rusland fortsette med og snakke sammen gjennom radaren eller skall radaren skrues av for alle parter?
yes
their sword drill looks so uncomfortable
and plus when the markers do the eyes right it makes me cringe a bit since markers are to keep and maintain dressing
Drill fantastic! Music... very boring! Norway... you have great musicians....do something about the music!
Noe av det dummeste jeg har lest...
And are people still gonna say that HMKG marching is the best in the world? I don't think so 🤣🤣🤣
All national drill teams are the best in the world.

How much does it cost taxpayers to have these guys in funny hats perform synchronised silly walks?
💰💰💰
Approximately the same as not having the need to stay up all night because your worried about getting invaded
The queen of England has it aswell
How much does it cost to have a president? With guards and so on?
