The mountain of hankerchiefs thing is cheesy as all heck, but at the same time, I can't help but love it. Despite his very showy display of defeating Erazor Djinn, Sonic understands why Shahra is upset, and that her feelings are perfectly valid, so he helps her by just saying, "It's okay. I'll help you through this." Just plain good writing.
*100% Correct here.* Cheesy, but genuine and heartfelt. Especially when comparing it with the Sonic Prime series going on on Netflix. Great show, and everyone else agrees. However, one thing I don't see people mention is how a lot of the dialogue and the style tends to be a bit bland.. sometimes a bit childish.. and other times... *asscrap.* Like, some of the lines in the show were either _just_ generic or corny enough to give me PTSD of that horrendous "dumb-it-down-for-kids" style-dialogue you see in Sonic Lost World and Sonic Colors. If anything.. Sonic's dialogue and lines in The Black Knight and The Secret Rings are both a hundred times better than what I've seen so far in Sonic Prime's first 8 episodes. However, I only mean _strictly_ the dialogue. Rest of the show is pretty great.
This final boss was truly badass for Darkspine Sonic alone, and it’s truly a shame this game is hated for its controls when mostly everything else such as the level design, theme and cutscenes are just truly great. I’m totally hoping that Sega can release a remaster or at the very least a port that fixes the controls so that this game gets a second chance.

I miss the time 3D Sonic games had the main theme of the game as the final boss music... I'll never forget how awesome was the first time I got to Final Hazard in SA2 and heard Live and Learn playing, I was seriously HYPED. And despite games like Secret Rings and 06 having a questionable quality, I think just this little detail at the end makes the entire thing feel a bit more epic :3

I love how this game and black knight are parallels yet similar. This game is sonics tenacity and brutality showing with his sheer power alone. Black knights is more about teamwork and honor. This shows in the controls perfectly. To fight djinn you have to violently shake the wii remote to win. And in the black knight its about timing to get the hits more effective
It took me 7 years to defeat the final boss because I didn't have guides because I tried everything and couldn't I didn't know how the Wii remote thing worked I didn't know I had to shake
You guys do realize this is how EVERY sonic game does it right, sonic and the black knight only does it to make use of the knight, the reason he does it at the end is literally to kill em dead, don't you realize that hes not cracking cocky jokes or showing his fear just a little, sonic doesn't like to kill, the use of the homing attack is the point of him trying to hold back his anger and strength, it's almost like spiderman, he literally HAS to pull his punches otherwise he could kill someone with one punch, the point is dont judge sonic
One of my favorite Sonic games. I especially love this scene. It's one of my favorites! I thought it was so awesome when Sonic gave Erasor Djinn his just-desserts, forcing him to grant all three of his wishes (the last one to spend the rest of his life inside his lamp). And I nearly bursted into tears after Sonic consoled Shahyra with a mountain of handkerchiefs. Such a Sweetheart he is, one of the reasons I love this blue blur. 💙🥰🦔🎮

Little tip for anyone trying out this boss nowadays- when you kick the big energy sphere back at him, charge up your Soul Gauge a little bit while it’s doing that and Speed Break into his heart- it does a tiny bit more damage and if done consistently allows you to finish the boss in one less cycle if memory serves.
Well technically Sonic Adventure came out in 1998 and some bosses in the classic era were legit nightmare fuel (Sonic Spinball egg spider abomination), you are right. Sega was not afraid to use demons, gods or godlike abominations. You know? I might have an explanation for that, Sega owns Atlus and they produce SMT games, the same games where similar bosses to Sonic appear. So I guess Sega thought they can insert satan into their little hedgehog game and call it a day.

I feel like despite it showing 7 energies leaking from Alf Layla Wa Layla, it was 'incomplete' because he didn't display sadness so the 'Sadness' world ring never truly responded to him the same way some of them go to Sonic suddenly, presumably those resonating with his emotions at the time.
The reason it was actually incomplete was because he didn't kill Sonic as for the World Rings to make the user of it complete, the collector of those rings has to die for the complete control
@@darkgenics I think killing Shahra would have counted as she gathered all seven off of Sonic and he specifically names all the Emotions in the rings but only sadness never gets displayed by him, add to that the ones it looks like were drawn to sonic would represent how Sonic was feeling in that moment

It's awesome how sonic was like "I command you: Do what you truly think is right!" Rather than "I command you: Don't give him the rings"
One of my favorite Sonic games. I especially love this scene. It's one of my favorites! I thought it was so awesome when Sonic gave Erasor Djinn his just-desserts, forcing him to grant all three of his wishes (the last one to spend the rest of his life inside his lamp). And I nearly bursted into tears after Sonic consoled Shahyra with a mountain of handkerchiefs. Such a Sweetheart he is, one of the reasons I love this blue blur. 💙🥰🦔🎮

Little tip for anyone trying out this boss nowadays- when you kick the big energy sphere back at him, charge up your Soul Gauge a little bit while it’s doing that and Speed Break into his heart- it does a tiny bit more damage and if done consistently allows you to finish the boss in one less cycle if memory serves.
Darkspine Sonic is just so badly explored. I wish they could bring us more games approaching this form.

Well technically Sonic Adventure came out in 1998 and some bosses in the classic era were legit nightmare fuel (Sonic Spinball egg spider abomination), you are right.
Sega was not afraid to use demons, gods or godlike abominations. You know? I might have an explanation for that, Sega owns Atlus and they produce SMT games, the same games where similar bosses to Sonic appear. So I guess Sega thought they can insert satan into their little hedgehog game and call it a day.

I feel like despite it showing 7 energies leaking from Alf Layla Wa Layla, it was 'incomplete' because he didn't display sadness so the 'Sadness' world ring never truly responded to him the same way some of them go to Sonic suddenly, presumably those resonating with his emotions at the time.
The reason it was actually incomplete was because he didn't kill Sonic as for the World Rings to make the user of it complete, the collector of those rings has to die for the complete control
@@darkgenics I think killing Shahra would have counted as she gathered all seven off of Sonic and he specifically names all the Emotions in the rings but only sadness never gets displayed by him, add to that the ones it looks like were drawn to sonic would represent how Sonic was feeling in that moment

2:If you play the game, when you collect the three rings Sonic absorbs and transforms into Darkspine, when getting hold of the rings Sonic says something about those rings. Like Rage(Or hatred) he says something like "Woah, there's alot of pent up anger or hatred in these" it was foreshadowing the rings Sonic would get

I don’t really see how the handkerchiefs are cheesy, I see it as more along the lines of “literal poetic-ness”. It’s an act of kindness that is meant to help emotions so intense that you could call them mountainous, I would dare to call it the perfect ending to the cutscene

I don’t give a fuck what people say Darkspine Sonic & Werehog Sonic are my favorite! Why? Cause they both be throwing hands! We need more of that! I grow up with classic Sonic so I understand why people don’t want that to change. But I’m a brawler at heart! Taking out my enemies with my fists is always how I like to play most games! So yeah let’s change it up a bit again, let Sonic throw hands again & if not do another Sonic Forces but this put in the opinion on throwing hands like Darkspine Sonic! I love how Erazer refuses to grant Sonic’s wishes and then Sonic sits on the throne and says “Heres what’s gonna happen your gonna bring my friend back to life your gonna restore the Arabian knights stories and your going back in your lamp forever and there’s nothing you can do about it”
Out of context of the handkerchief scene without the symbolism, it’s almost like he’s just saying “cry about it.”
