  • A video tutorial on how to replace the cabin air filter on a 2015 - 2020 Ford Mustang.
WHAT IS THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR FORD MUSTANG?
Cabin air filters, also know as A/C air filter, help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter, or ac air filter, can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Ford Mustang passenger compartment location.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR FORD MUSTANG?
It is recommended that you replace your cabin air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year. However, you may want to replace or change the cabin filter in you Ford Mustang more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies or has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Mustang on dirt roads or in an excessively dusty location
WHERE IS THE CABIN FILTER ON YOUR FORD MUSTANG?
The cabin filter is located behind the glovebox.
This video tutorial can be used to help find the location of as well as remove, change or replace the cabin filter on the following Mustang models:
2015 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )
2016 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )
2017 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )
2018 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )
2019 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )
2020 Ford Mustang ( EcoBoost, GT and Premium )

Good video I just replaced mine. Two sticking points for me for one the torx screw is vertically oriented so you have to kind of go up into it not directly at it horizontally which was a pain but I did it by hand and figured it out second putting a new filter in is awkward you have to kind of roll it up put it in and then feed it from the back first towards the front and then after you get about a third and it’ll slide right in otherwise awesome video dude thanks

Thanks for this - my dealer wanted $155 to do this ($93 of which is labor). It took me only about 15 minutes, but the hardest part was working in such a small space. Definitely more difficult than changing the filter on any Honda or Acura I've ever owned - those just had an access door in the back of the glove box. 30 seconds with those!

I just changed my filter and figured out right away to go from underneath the dash, to remove and install the filter. Don't try pulling the filter out of the glovebox opening, pull it straight down and out. You can also get to the screw with no problem, too. All you will need to do is look through the flap after you get the glove box lid out of the way.

Once you get the old filter out good luck trying to get the new one back in, the space and angle is so cramp you really need to take a breather or two in between attempts. Make sure it goes straight like and arrow w/o crumbling out of shape. Whoever approved this design needs to get another job in some other area of expertise. Takes 2 minutes to do my wife's Honda.
