1:21 To this day I can’t believe that the protagonist of my favourite show has the same actor as the semi antagonist of a weird superhero kids movie I watched nine years ago.
His entire career before The Expanse is a fever dream. In 10,000 B.C. he played a caveman with dreadlocks, in The Covenant he played an edgy Harry Potter clone. Gotta pay them bills.

Good summary. My nitpick is that calling the ship the Rocinante isn't a weird and obscure reference at all. It's the equivalent of naming something after a Shakespeare character (such as Caliban). The name itself was originally a play on words of "rocín" (work horse) and "antes" (before), meaning that the name was probably meant to suggest that (like Quijote himself) the animal was gaunt, unimpressive past his prime, in contrast to the idealised noble steeds that fictional knights would have had in chivalric books. Don Quijote as a book is considered a founding work of western literature, and even the first modern novel, as well as supposedly the second-most-translated book in the world after the bible. That's without bringing up the fact that Spanish is the second-most-spoken native language in the world, having more native speakers than English. So as one of the main works of the language's literature (Spanish's common epithet is "the language of Cervantes"), I really wouldn't qualify a reference to a member of its main cast as "obscure".
It bad that a centrist like Holden that want to hold the status quo as long as he can, not matter how much sympathy have for the Belters call his ship Rocinante, Don Quijote is a parody/criquite of the chivalry tales and war stories, because Cervantes itself was a soldier in a war and spend some time as a POV, but The Expanse instead of critiquing the system, the only thing that it have to say fascism is bad, not shit Sherlock, meanwhile the belters continue to be exploited and treated like second class citizens.
