Ive heard youre not surpose to use anh kinda chemical on them otherwise islt voids manufacturing warranty? This true? Are you still using upvc cleaner or ubik without any issue?
Hi! Nice video! Im cleaning solar panels with a rotation brush. But the moss is really a problem. Its so dtick in the corners of the solar panels. What kind of soap solution do you use? Keep it up! 👍🏼
Thanks! I just use a gentle upvc cleaner usually. Letting it soak for a few minutes can help, but sometimes the growth on the surface can need a really good scrub.😃👍🏼
High Ashley, I'm new to solar panel cleaning so looking for some advice on how too. I have watched some vids of professionals that say you can't use chemicals to clean solar panels but noticed you do use a chemical. Obviously you have had no issues?? Thanks Alan
Do you think a more adjustable goose-neck would square-up the brush to the solar panel? Great video! I got lost into the music and almost forgot what i was watching. Lol
Hi mate got my first job doing these panels, what upvc clear did you use I was just thinking of useing pink stuff And should I order a soft brush for my pole?
I use a upvc cleaner from Bonnymans.co.uk and yeah, a soft brush is not a bad idea, but as long as you use one that’s good and clean you should be fine.😃👍🏼
Hervey Bay Rubbish Removal I don’t think they need to be turned off necessarily, but I like to wear gloves with rubber palms now when I do these, just in case.😃👍🏼
That’s a tough one! You want to be really careful with any kind of scrub pad, when that grit comes loose it’s going to scratch. If you can get some sort of plastic scraper, that might do it? Wet it thoroughly first, treat it with a little TFR and gently tease it.👍🏼
Need to see some new videos of solar panel cleans Ash please...just invested in the Gardener Super max35 so I can start doing some...great video as always very professional 👌🙌🏻
Hi Ashley, hope you’re well. I’ve been asked to quote to clean 384 solar panels on a factory roof. Been to look this morning, looks pretty straight forward as I can stand on the roof and they are well spread out but I’m struggling on pricing and would really appreciate your opinion. With it being a big job what’s your minimum price per panel? Any advise would be much appreciated. Cheers
Sounds like a good job. There’s a saying: something is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. So in a way, you should charge whatever you think the customer is willing to pay. But generally, the bigger the job, the less you can charge per panel. Maybe it would be a good job for £2 per panel? Also you could consider how long you think it will take you.😃👍🏼
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. That figure sounds about right just needed to hear it from someone with a bit more experience. Keep up the good work and thanks again for the advice. 👍
Good vid! So I've been asked for a quote for cleaning solar panels and I wondered what's the general pricing for cleaning them? Also what bristles would you reccomend using out of dupont or flocked?
I could NOT find any Solar panel brush with 24 inch width. It appears the manufacturers tested and designed 12 inch brushes. I wonder if there is any documentation or reasoning for such small brushes?
Unger used to do a solar panel brush, I’m not sure if they still do, but the only thing that was different about it was the colour , so you could keep it separate from other brushes for other uses.😃👍🏼
could i use a big boy backpack for these and just use normal tap water? only need it for one job we need to quote so dont want to spend a fortune, thanks
@@aemackintosh ok great thanks, also think my water is hard where I live, how long would the HydroPower last roughly? It would only be used for solar panels and add ons so wouldn't need alot of pure at all, thanks for the reply
Hi Ashley, Great VT! I am looking to add Solar Panel Cleaning to our offered services. You mentioned you are using a 30ft (ish) pole. Do you find 30ft is enough for most solar panel cleaning jobs or would you recommend a longer pole, if so what length? Thanks Terry.
Yeah, this job was a bit of a stretch actually. So a 35-40ft pole would be good. Or a platform to get yourself up to gutter level would be even better.😃👍🏼
How much do your charge for sola panel ash .... reason I’ve asked customers have asked us I I say around £20.00 per side.... customers look at us like we’ve got 2 heads. They think its to pricey ??
Dave monk Monk Cleaning services I usually charge around £5 per panel, this job worked out at £45. Probably a bit cheap, but I was keen to do this one for the video.💦😃👍🏼
Dave The Window Licker Good one. It’s important that they are cleaned regularly so that they work efficiently. Some home owners seem reluctant to have them cleaned because they think they will get damaged.💦😃👍🏼
Your brush head face is not flat to the panels so your not getting proper purchase and not cleaning it proper efficiently It needs adjusting forward approximately 90degrees 👍
The tiles roof are so dirty. As soon as is start raining. It's going to get dirty again. They should have clean the tiles first before they installed the panels.

That has been really helpful. Just been asked for my first one - so a big THANK YOU ASHLEY.

Is it ok to use a solution on solar panels? (I will use unger powerliquid, is this ok?)
High Ashley, I'm new to solar panel cleaning so looking for some advice on how too. I have watched some vids of professionals that say you can't use chemicals to clean solar panels but noticed you do use a chemical. Obviously you have had no issues?? Thanks Alan
I just use a very gentle soapy solution. Nothing harsh of course.😃👍🏼

Yeah. Follow the directions on the packet.👍🏼
Do you turn the system off mate? Didn't know about panels cracking and I live in tropical Queensland. Something to be aware of cheers

Hi great Video and advice - do you use the sky vac sky cam to video the shots on the roof?
Thanks. I use a GoPro for my video footage.👍🏼
What’s the best way to remove cement from Solar Panels Ashley please?

Do you isolate the panels before cleaning ?
Do you have to isolate solar panels prior to cleaning?
No, you will be fine. I have noticed a bit of a static shock on rare occasions, so I just make sure I always wear gloves now.😃👍🏼
Love your videos so helpful where can you get that cleaning Materials from again please 🤜

Good vid!
So I've been asked for a quote for cleaning solar panels and I wondered what's the general pricing for cleaning them?

£3-£5 per panel. A flocked brush would be nice and gentle on the panels but more difficult to remove something stubborn.😃👍🏼

hi, this is Jeremy, we can supply 300/550mm (12/22inch) brush head
Do you just use normal water?
David Hanchant The Hydro Power RO uses normal tap water and filters it down to zero.😃👍🏼
could i use a big boy backpack for these and just use normal tap water? only need it for one job we need to quote so dont want to spend a fortune, thanks
Mark Filby I think pure water would be better as regular tap water will leave behind a residue.
@@aemackintosh ok great thanks, also think my water is hard where I live, how long would the HydroPower last roughly? It would only be used for solar panels and add ons so wouldn't need alot of pure at all, thanks for the reply
I think Unger have published charts for it to indicate that sort of thing? Should be able to find it if you google it maybe?😃👍🏼

What brush and pole do you use?
Do you need purified water on solar panels? My guess is no but you're the man in the know.
It would be best to rinse with pure water so that you don’t get any residue spotting left behind.👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Thanks so much Ashley. 👍

You can’t adjust the heads on these Unger poles. The new nLite range is going to be different though.😎👍🏼
Hi Ashley i add a 2nd adjustable angle to the goose neck before the brush to adjust the angle of the brush
The tiles roof are so dirty. As soon as is start raining. It's going to get dirty again. They should have clean the tiles first before they installed the panels.
INDO KEREN The solar panels are actually on brackets so they sit a few inches above the roof tiles, so I don’t think that’s really an issue.😃👍🏼
Good content. Cut the stupid music out.
Thanks. It’s difficult to find good music. This is an older video, it gets better.😆👍🏼
