I can't believe they were letting Brent go while he had laughter to spread, money to raise and mouths to feed.
And doing his walks for mencap which are important to him !!!
He'd made little pockets and everything
Even for home grown problems. AKA the disableds.
Like Lenny Henry, he just wanted to save some Africans.
Don't ever mention the US version in the same breath as this absolute genius writing and acting. Not even close.
It's true. I do enjoy the goofy us version but this has far more depth of character. It feels genuine
Umm the UK version was based on the US one?
@@CheGuevara110100other way around. Ricky gervais created The Office.
@@CheGuevara110100other way around
@@CheGuevara110100 How dare you?
Brent aint pathetic. The whole thing was a stitch up
I'm not a plonker!
I see him as more of a chilled out entertainer.
@@Themainman555 Friend first, a boss second. Maybe an entertainer third
Brent was set up in this series. Just a hard working office manager made to look a fool in the name of entertainment. I hope he’s doing well.
The BBC must have taken what, about eight hours footage a day, and most of it was like, you know… "Oh, look. Here's a good guy, he's getting on. He's their friend as well as their boss. He's a motivator, an entertainer. There's lots of good stuff. Oh, he's made one mistake, like any human would, should we just cut that out?” ...No, what? Put that bit in, cut the other stuff out. We want a scapegoat, we want to dumb down. We wanna give them the biggest plonker of the year.
Which Beethoven do you like?
All his main hits…. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's like a Karl Dilkington reply 😄
He’s also very much influenced by Mozart and Bach
Totally deaf! Ain't he.
Turkish March is good. That sticks out as it sounds jolly.
@@123Jim91 I blast Symphony 9 in Em in my gym headphones whilst doing rigorous barbell rows. Surprisingly effective.
The moment he turns and sees her.. "ohhh for fs" classic
Greatest moment in comedy history
'Excitement... not sexual.'
The show is just so heavy with funny little bits. Even when he's pulling the shirt apart without trying to actually damage it because it's got to go back 😅
Nobody has ever done "awkward" as good as Gervais...Ever! Pure genius!
Steve Coogan did it before and better
Not sure about better mate. He certainly did it and still does do it amazingly. On a par maybe. @@user-gn9mx3mb7k
"See ya."
"Huh?"
It is pure genius.
RG is actually a very gifted actor.
Not many could pull off what he does.
I think he really is a bit like this in real life
"One of those happy, bubbly ones" 😂😂😂
Cos of the eating.
“With you? Wouldn’t have thought so…” is still one of the greatest lines in comedy history 😂
For you, clearly..
That first glimpse of your date! I've had that experience soooo many times.
😂😂😂
Still single mate???
"You're acting like a petulant kid!"
"Young at heart."❤
“It’s got little pockets and everything…”
😂😂😂
Ricky is a underrated actor
He's not my favourite actor of all time, by the way. No, my favourite actor of all time is Mr Sidney Poitier.
It's weird to watch the game show scene now, because Ricky Gervais is a world class celebrity, but this was the first and last time I heard about Bubble from Big Brother.
How can you no every word an little look from this show but still find it funny 😂😂😂😂😂
I always just assumed Brent was making the lemon fact up off the top of his head but apparently Lemons contain 70% sugar and strawberries 40%.
I was actually gonna look it up 😂😂😂 Thanks saved me doing it 👍
Thanks, came to the comments looking for this
Cows have technically one stomach
Honestly acting of the highest order 😂😂😂
Beethoven wasn't deaf all his life.. his works are divided into three periods
1) When he could hear
2) When he was going deaf
3) When he was "totally deaf"
It's not a trick is it, knowledge..
Correct me if i'm wrong but nothing has even come close to this show in the two decades since.
So many have imitated it but badly! People just do nothing. This country . They stole the character and his mannerisms .
@@NelsonVanDwellerBoth good shows, so that is some compliment.
@@RichardOliver compliment to the office yes. I think they are ok shows. Too much of a rip off in my opinion. In people just do nothing every character has some Brent in them . Lol
@@RichardOliver chabuddy G brought something new though I'll give them that
Peep show and imbetweeners are very funny. Nothing will ever beat this though
One of the most underrated things in comedy these days in awkward silences. When he was sat at the table with his date they were silent for 17 seconds before anyone spoke! 😂
😂 And the way he smiles at the person walking past, anything to distract him from his date, lol
@@mattlegg1976 And they have the crappiest seats in the pub.....
Duck paté..................
Yeah against karate 🤣🤣🤣
You missed off the last bit; "The light's not great, they probably won't use these to be honest..."
I wouldn't have thought so
Cows have got four stomachs 🐮
He didn’t rip the shirt so hopefully got the deposit back.
“What was that shxt, what was that shxt…what was your shxt!” 😂

How they kept a straight face when he stood up in the ostrich outfit is beyond me 😭
They didn't, it took 47 takes
• She's _bleeeughh_ - nothing. D'you know what I m-?
• Not talking about me, were you?
• Naaaoough. You couldn't hear that anyway, could you?
3 minutes full of... I don't even know what. Comedic level above 9000. Never gets old.
The “bleeeugh - nothing!” Gets me every time 😂
@@AW-kr9fl Just reading that now has my third eye in tears already.
Its not a psrty trick is it … knowledge 😂
This video should have ended with the scene when David pretends to phone Finchy to fire him and gets caught faking by his boss. She then calls him pathetic.
Matches perrrfect.
Hilarious scene Brent at his most pathetic. “Am I?” 😂😂😂
Brent has got to be the most influential comedy character ever - TikTok is crammed full of Brent-style reaction performers
He doesn't even need to speak his face cracks me up
Love how he doesn't actually do any damage to the rented Austin Powers shirt.
When she says do u think were be doing this again, and brent says i dont think so 😂
Lemons 🍋
David still isn't as pathetic as Neil
He just wants to be popular as the new boss. 'Ooh love me' ...pathetic.
Don't want you lot getting involved, this is big boy shit..
Love me 😂
@@JerryMetalpity you couldn’t have a laugh at lunchtime… selfish!!
@@iant234 Having a laugh. At work. While getting the job done. Not mutually exclusive.
If you are familiar with the xfm show or the podcasts you'll know merchant was the real brains behind Gervais the fraud
You can easily tell his writing is sadly absent in Ricky's solo projects.
"The good die young" after getting fired, ha missed that one til now.😅
Brent's my mate and they edited this series to make him look like a plonker.
lol this is true
It was a stich up!
😂😂😂😂😂❤The photo pose was your best pic 😂😂😂 .
Make it peck at your mates. Like roy hud 😂. His sheer exasperation at the reporterd error is priceless especially given the circumstances.
That was a funny line that.
Not a trick is it, knowledge?
This one just took me out first time I saw it.
Loved the juxtaposition of Brent having a terrible time trying to be fun in pub. Comes back deflated to Neil having fun with new peeps effortlessly. Brent then calling him out is actually more Brent trying hard to be popular.
"all his main hits " 😂
"Infact, I'm seriously considering asking for my money back under the Trade Descriptions Act" 😂
All the big ones… 😊
“Is that your erm.. party trick?”
Would love to see Brent try to use Karate against Neil.
asking for his money back under the ‘trades description act’ .. 😂
perfect man to play a character like that
Neil handled the confrontation with David so well
Nah, Neil's a cant
Says more about you than anything
@@jbri1 The real Neil emerges whenever Finchy's onscreen alongside him. Neil is just a more polished and covert Finchy.
@@jbri1 what exactly did Neil do wrong in that scene? Was he supposed to let David, who was acting like a petulant child, talk to him like that in front of everyone?
Could have been a moment for David and Neil to start building bridges. Neil asked him twice to tell him what the issue was and he didn’t. If he’d have took that moment to really have it out with him, they could have maybe got it all out on the table and possibly had more mutual respect for each other after it but that’s obviously something David was incapable of.
The day of laughter 😂
It’s not a trick, knowledge?
Got to admit Ricky Gervais is a comedy genius. IHim and Strephen Merchant together. Thats match made in heaven. JC for prime minister ♥️👍🏴🙏🤣
Still funny, love it
" I don't think Beethoven could have done better if he'd heard what he was playing.. in my opinion! "
Lol
Everyone would love a boss like Brent. You could get away with anything as long as he thought you were his friend.
No way. Super petty, a liar....no thanks mate

“Do you want the options again?” 🙄

Tbh David and Michael are very similar in the way they act.

Anyone else get the feeling that Ricky is somewhat like this in real life?
Tithe way he always laughs at his own funny Nelson stage inn case the audience Don realise how funny he is😂
Definitely to some degree, like his og personality is about a 7 and this is turned up to 10. OTT so he can have a laugh at it also, but just himself in some ways
Comedic brilliance!
This reminds me why I always found this show just too uncomfortable to watch.
Still struggle to get through the date segment 😬
Right up there with "Can we not talk about my dead mother's breasts?"🤣
Pathetic.
Is it?
My Role Model when I was younger were people like Starsky and Hutch & Hong Kong Phooey...
A few more years and it could have been this Prick Brent...
Close escape
Always the same
Hardly pathetic, genius more like
It's masterfully done, how the Neil character manages to be so detestable while doing everything "right".
I don't know, I feel people want to root for David as the underdog here. I'm surprised he put up with David's crap as long as he did. But i understand people here want to say David's only having a laugh and sticking it to the man as the antihero lol
That was difficult to watch - he is the King of Awkward moments - even though it's only acting, we've all had to deal with characters like him - and he does it a little too well. I always squirm and shift in my seat watching these clips.
Brent or Partridge?
I know a woman like her… she even look like her…
Maybe it is her...
nothing pathetic about the first three scenes
Pathetic? Is it???
who the fs that?
You're the wanchor mate... if anyone is
Brilliant show Gervais is hilarious, the American office was absolute shit
So so cringy 😂😂
The series will take some beating maybe Gavin and Stacey come close.
It’s amazing that Ricky Gervais actually used to be funny
