What year was this? Morten's way of speaking here is very similar to the way he talks now, in terms of energy, accent, reflection etc. It's not the same very heavy British Accent as he has in 1986, his timing etc.
Nicholas Sans Pasty In 1986 I don’t think you could call his English anything other than pretty perfect, I am a native English speaker and he speaks English better than most people in the U.K. They all spoke perfect English. They all learned English from an early age as all Nor wegians do and also they had been living in London for quite a while before Take on Me was released. In this interview in 1988 I do detect a difference in Morten’s phrasing, but the English is still not spoken with a discernible accent.

In 1986 his native Norwegian accent was strong still it wasn't British, he sounds far more British here.
