    Wait wait wait ... Did Mr. P. Björkman put on a pre-tied bowtie? PRE-TIED? Maybe my eyes have mistook this detail.

    It hurts me to see this channel go to such waste. The production value is stunning and I absolutely love the classic "James Bond" vibes that many of the videos possess. Unfortunately, many videos are absolutely worthless. I see many videos where there is only one style that someone would actually attempt to wear (shorts with a tuxedo jacket is not creative or fun... Just tacky and disrespectful). Although that upsets me, it is this video that truly grinds my gears. Black tie is one step down from the most formal wear a man can partake in. In most cases it IS the most formal thing a man will wear. Because of the structure of the tux wear there are very few places you can go wrong with a tuxedo... This video found one of those ways. If you are going up get all fancied up and look your best you should at least try, especially if you're a grown man. That is why a pre-tied bow tie is NEVER OK. It's hard for me to see regular folks make this mistake, but to see a menswear channel do it is absolutely terrible.

      Completely agree. Never wear a self-tie bow tie. Unless you are a teenager going to a prom.

      Right there with you on this.
      Also cringed when the full time model, who’s job is in fashion, said button top- down and he listed the sometimes always never rule in the wrong order….and then mrporter produced the episode.
      The video Mowed over the beauty in the formality of it all.

  • @Kafetti

    The buttoning order on three button jkts and blazers is sometimes top, always mid (but open when seated), followed by never on the bottom button. The order is incorrect here

    • @123dorias
      @123dorias Год назад

      And if there is only one button, as it SHOULD be the case HERE that it is about dinner suits, then the button should be buttoned, especialy if worn with a waistband. If worn with waistcoat/vest instead, then it COULD be unbuttoned...

    • @Kafetti
      @Kafetti Год назад

      @@123dorias tbh i find the cummerbund buttoning rule superfluous nowdays when we have things like smoking jkts/ tuxedos with t-shirts,
      But the buttoning of the jacket is just for the silhouette, just today I had a young lad that I had to insist upon buttoning because it was more flattering taper wise

    • @123dorias
      @123dorias Год назад

      @@Kafetti But dinner suits/tuxedos should have one button, unlike the example in the video.. This one button should be treated like the "always mid (but open when seated)" that you said... Ie it corresponds to this one... The rule is the rule, anyone can break it ,it is otherwise no crime, it is just for the ones who seek such guidance...

      derbies are designed to fit a man with wide feet and although not as clean/formal as oxfords: unbrogued derbies are acceptable for evening attire, I'd say opera pumps would be the norm, both oxfords and derbies are oke
