Thank you for this I’ve had my treat business since 2014 but my issue is being consistent and posting. I absolutely love to make treats and just cook in general but I can honestly say that I’ve been neglecting my business badly😢😢😢.I lost EVERYTHING last year due to a house fire so I’m starting over with buying materials and supplies and tools. You definitely just gave me a boost of motivation and confidence so I don’t make the same mistakes again. Thank You So Much

Great information. Very important register your business as an LLC and find a way to track every expense used in the business so you will know what your real profit is. There are many simple Accounting software out there

I do have a question. When you say not to give a specific pick up time for the order, lets say the customer needs it by 10:00 on a Saturday morning for a party. What would i tell them? That i will contact them as soon as I'm done with the order or that i will make sure i am done by the time they requested? I am one who does get stessed out easily when there is a deadline time for orders. I've tried starting a cupcake business and hasn't really gone the way i was hoping it would.

I hate having extra treats around the house afterwards 😂 other than that, everything you said was GOLDEN. Consistency is something I have plans on working on this year for sure-just showing up for myself like I do for others.
Do you have a problem with the melting consistency of Wilton's candy melts? When I use Wilton's they melt bur are thick even if i use vegetable shortening or coconut oil.

How do you price things? I have all the materials when it comes to mold and boxes etc…at Amazon I spent only $150 on lots of things. I get my melts in michaels and the rest of my supplies at Amazon
I charge $3 per berry, you want to include how much your strawberries are.. how much your chocolate is, packaging, sprinkles all supplies you use. then you want to make a profit.
It kind of depends what state you live in. Some states require a vendors license to sell. Or they require a cottage bakers license to sell. Make sure to look specifically at the state you live in !

I only have a problem using the white ones. I added vegetable oil.
Yes. This is why I use almond bark instead. It’s way smoother and easier to melt, and tastes better!
Try to use ALMOND BARK and get oil based food coloring from Amazon
