I am probably the very few people that actually enjoyed the rebooted version. Yes, the original is so much better is just about everywhere, but the reboot gives me a more of suspense, thrill, funny vibe to it. The original gave a suspense, thrill, chill feel. I love them both because, even though they are heavily different, they give me a very good time. The original gave an awesome story and well thought out characters. The reboot gave a sense of shits and giggles which I tend to love a lot. You know what I mean?
I got into the franchise cause of the reboot and I genuinely enjoyed most of what this Dante and the rest of the cast was,I like when they try to do something different with a franchise and make it its own thing.

I feel like DMC 5 is kinda of a harmony within the franchise. If you look at it, Nero looks very similar to new Dante. Maybe Nero will be a much more mellow version of the Dante from DmC: Devil May Cry
It’s not a bad game but as a Devil May Cry is a hideous abomination the main character is a unlikeable, the devil trigger is beyond underwhelming, the boss go between either disgusting or uninteresting. Then my god the dialogue Jesus was it an edgy swear fest and the side characters Vergil( legitimately had a point) and they went full over the top heel turn and Kat was just bland.
Lol I feel you I feel you. When making this video I had to crop out the subtitles because there is SO MUCH unneeded cursing. Even the soundtrack has songs with unneeded cursing lol
The original is iconic but I still play the reboot every now and then and I’m mad at how Vergil’s story ended smh but I play it to kill time and also to be consistent wit the combos to hone my skills for fun
True. I did like how he materialized his weapons. But I miss styles and it's really hard to like any of the characters. My favorite was honestly Phineas and he was only there for a few seconds.

Now this is quite a controversial thing from me to say, especially as someone who doesn’t like DmC DMC to a high degree, but their sequel *REALLY* had some high potential if Vorgil and Dino’s last fight wouldn’t have occurred. Yes it’s true the Vorgil’s plan about taking Mhundus’s place did seem sketchy, but in a way, he really wasn’t wrong, and Dino’s knows *VERY MUCH* about that, it’s reflected on throughout his life prior to defeating Mhundus. Now say if Vorgil were to rule in Mhundus’s place for a few years with Dino and Kat by his side, it probably would’ve worked a good year or so, but then the power would’ve gone to Vorgil’s head. Without Vorgil being self aware, he wouldn’t realize he was turning into Mhundus himself, and that would allow Dino to journey for Sparda. Damn, this could’ve been an interesting story.
Not a fanboy of the series but i loved the game and dante in this game is a badass, i also liked the plot and the storyline my favorite quote and i still remember it up to this day and is when the demon boss goes by saying " You don't fuck with a God"
Tbh this game only legit got hate because nobody wanted to start the story over after 4 games especially with a giant style change. Now that I played it about a year after it came out it honestly wasn't that bad I don't want it to replace the main Devil May Cry series but I'd love it to be a spinoff of the main universe.

Point being though is that the fanbase itself didn't really give it a chance to evolve of you compare dante from the beginning to the end he's actually less of an asshole and if you've played the Vergil dlc you can see the process of him actually changing to hate dante and humans in general. I just think it was an interesting world that could bring new things to the table that the fans (understandably) killed off before it could mature.
