I agree Hart, the two baits should be the exact same colour for a true comparison. From the looks of this challenge, if he hooked the bag they came in on, it would still catch a Bass!
D Carroll nah man, different colors work better in different waters. Like muddy/dark water vs. clear water. You’d wanna use a different color for those.
Im a little late to the party here, but one thing that you can do with your "spent" rigs, is keep them and cut them in half or 1/4 and run a ned rigs. Double the usage for your stick baits.
You and Lojo are killing it with these cheap/budget fisherman. I love these videos because this is for the majority of us who don’t have sponsors or who don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on lures
@@CR-ef4op Still can't tell without using the same color for both. Who's to say that the fish aren't just attracted to one color over the other that day?
Colton Miller that reply was so moronic I actually don’t even know what you are trying to say, but thanks for proving that you don’t know wtf you’re saying
Nice comparison vid. In my experience wacky rigged GYBC Senkos with an O ring are fantastic Bass catchers. The O rings make the soft senkos last so much longer. Also I like Dingers for shallow water as they have a slower fall rate than senkos. Again this is when they are rigged weightless or wacky style
One thing your video did not cover is fishing it weightless or wacky which are the most popular ways to fish a soft stick bait. That is where the Senko shines, it shimmy’s and provide undulating action on the fall. It does the same thing when fished wacky. The hard stick baits do not have this action and under tough conditions that extra action gets the Senko bites. Also with the salt content the fish hold on to bait longer. The Senko is the number one selling stick bait and considered the gold standard for all serious bass fisherman. In fact Tackle Warehouse sells many different soft stick baits ther are the only one that has “best seller”. There is a market for the Yum Dinger as you stated price and durability are advantages of the Yum Dinger.
I’ve been using Arkie brand jigs from Walmart they run about 2 bucks and some change and aren’t half bad plus when I break them off it don’t feel as bad as losing a 5-6 dollar jig lol
PappaSqually I mainly use buckeye and booyah jigs because they are good quality and they are the ones I've always used me and my dad used to make our own I used those to
All I fish are Yum Dingers and occasionally the Bass Pro brand sticks. I figured out a long time ago when i fished gummy worms that bass will hit anything shaped like that.
I’m with you on the Yum Dingers for the Texas Rig and durability. I buy like 2 colors in the Yamamoto that I use for Wacky Rigging. I did find that the Yamamoto’s have way better action on that Wacky Rig.

Sounds like color and durability along with the fisherman is more important. I go with my son and a few bucks and we tear through the clearance bin. Good way to build up what you have over time.
Just my opinion Daniel? Within reason? If I was out " fun " fishing? going thru bags of pricey soft plastics didn't make much sense to me if I could catch the fish on cheaper brands. In a tournament? I might have stuck with the proven name brand product. I did my share of clearance bin shopping, but mostly for lures and soft plastics that worked for me that were being discontinued.
Fishing_dixie_official ik i’m late but i personally prefer Yamamoto wacky or texas rig i feel like it depends on the circumstances as the dinger has a much more stiff action so it’s better for colder times of year/cold fronts or depending on how the fish are reacting and they were different colors even the slightest can make a difference in a day like today
After you use a soft bait and it is still in good condition, do you put back in pack and reuse at a later time? Just wondering if flavor would still be present to make bait desirable if reused.
Just recently started watching your vids, good stuff man. Im trying to take in all the advise I can get from all you tube fishermen! Great content though, keep it up brother
The 6th Sense senko aka the 5.4 inch Clout is better. They just don't sell them at Walmart. I catch more on those vs GY, Yum, Barkley etc. They also get tore up like GY baits. Ton of salt.
whats the point of doing cheap vs expensive when you don't pic the same colors. that literally gives one of the sankos an advantage. its a cheap vs expensive not a junebug vs green pumpkin
Very good point. Because then we can't decipher wether or not the fish chose the baits do how they are designed or made vs which which color they prefer most
Great video, just came back from a week in the Adirondack mountain area camping kayak fishing in my Jackson kilroy, it's amazing how many small mouth we caught and how they really fight harder than large mouth. They really tear up the senko and at the local camp store after you depleted your stash they sell for 10 bucks a package of the Gary Yamakoto.
do the one cast challenge, go to a pond and u have one cast to catch a fish, if you don’t catch one on the first catch, then you change ponds, And keep going until you catch like 5 fish.
This is definitely not valid. For one, you didn’t use the same color. That invalidates the whole challenge. Another thing is that you are going to a farm pond where the fish aren’t very pressured. You should go to a pressured body of water. These baits are definitely different as far as the action. You should use them in a variety of techniques

Im very new to fishing. They said weights are not placed on a baitcaster since it uses the lures weight to cast. But i can see you put a weight on it. Im confused. Im planning to but an slx dc reel. I have a spincaster at the moment. Lol
So how many fish did you catch, and how many senko’s did you use of each ? And if you would have went weightless, you would have noticed the difference in the action of each , just saying
In the thumbnail you made the yum expensive and the Yamamoto cheaper.
Dudeeeee just noticed that LOL! I need some sleep. Thanks for watching brotha!
