The world has been different since 1947 when the Arab Nations refused to sign the treaties that would officially recognize Israel as a state. The Arab Nations didn't see why Palestine should give up 50% of their territory for foreign invaders, but here we are years later celebrating Memorial Day followed by catastrophe day

I wonder if the AP is going to get as much press time to palestine's memorial. Nakba Day is commemorated annually on May 15. It marks the beginning of the destruction of the Palestinian homeland and the mass displacement in 1948 of the majority of the Palestinian population. Nakba means 'catastrophe' in Arabic and is the word used by Palestinians and others to refer to this historic moment.
