    When a lot of people see the word “dietitian” they see the word “diet” which means they associate “diet” with losing weight. It’s important to de-stigmatized the word “diet” cause there’s more to a healthy life than a number on the scale

      People have this notion that food is JUST calories and/or fuel. But it’s so much more than that; food and eating is a fundamental part of the human experience (obviously) and is therefore tied to some of our most intimate memories, like family style dinners, going out to high end restaurants with friends, the cheeky 3am trip to McDonalds (where they will inevitably tell you that the soft serve machine is broken…again) and whole bunch of other experiences. Food is connected to our identities.
      And when try to actively deny that reality under the guise of "discipline" or *insert literally any other diet culture buzzword* its basically a one way ticket to absolute disaster.

    I regularly recommend your videos, as well as Stephanie Lange's. She's body positive. Some of her content is about celebrity and influence culture, particularly when it comes to editing and the pressures they are under as well. She never tears the influencer or celebrity down. Rather, she normalizes stretch marks, our stomachs looking differently depending upon the time of day, acne, wrinkles and creases, etc.
    Will we differ on how we feel about this show? I have to watch the video first. Anyhow, thanks again for providing this information free of charge. I don't think she meant it's an everyday thing. I think the goal with this type of short is to show people that you don't have to restrict your food or be on a constant "diet". It's great if you have the time and ability to make things from scratch but it's not viable for everyone due to busy schedules or even certain disabilities.

    • @LulaMae21
      @LulaMae21 Год назад +4

      She doesn't say literally anywhere that you should only eat snickers cheesecake or that you should eat it every day. Most people have the sense to know that this is an occasional treat-- she didn't even try to make it a hunger-crushing combo!
      Also, you may find baking "fun" and have time to do it but many of us don't. I don't, and have little to no inclination to learn how to make cheesecake even if I had the time (and if I bake a cake, it's coming from a box mix). I certainly wouldn't feel more accomplished from making one from scratch.
      tl;dr occasionally enjoy the variety at Cheesecake Factory if you want to and don't feel guilty about the fat, sugar or calories because it's not your entire diet every day.
