I gagged when Turner was revealed! I’m hoping Mrs Chamberlain also makes an appearance

      That sort of thing was
      not that unusual during
      those times. People
      made (and sometimes
      lost) huge fortunes
      in a short amount of
      time. A lot of those
      new millionaires were
      older men.

Turner coming back is a joy. She is a great character in the first season. I can't wait to see what havoc she releases as Mrs Winterton.

I knew that we hadn’t seen the last of Turner, she had that unapologetic ambition. She is not at all staying in her station in life. I am curious, does she represent any real person or persons from that era?

I hope that in the future podcasts we can see the hosts and guests, but even not I love the back stories and historical conversations about the period.

Why is it that Miss Scott is relegating herself to being a servant? She appears to have a completely different station in life. That’s what was represented in season one with her parents being professional . I know she’s a person of color in the 19th century, but still.
She’s eating with the servants she’s agreeing to mend clothes. 😖 I just don’t understand her, trying to seek acceptance from the maid?
I don’t like it I don’t know it rubs me the wrong way

Didn't like that either in reality she would have stayed as far away from that woman as possible
It was written possibly with the intention of Ms Scott having allies in the support staff but I do see your point

At 2:10, the podcast hosts totally got fooled by George Russell about his intentions with Gladys, right? Does anyone remember Season 1, where he paid off a boy Gladys was interested in, and got him to dump her? So when George says he's primarily interested in Gladys marrying for love and will support Gladys's decision, it's really just a trick. In reality, George and Bertha are working together and will make sure their children find advantageous matches.

Yeah but that has more to do with Mrs Russell's intentions. She said "get rid of him." So Mr Russell says "how far?"
