You probably already know who Humphrey Yang is, and even if you don’t, there’s a good chance you’ve seen one of his RUclips, TikTok, or Instagram videos. A few years ago, Humphrey’s internet presence was almost non-existent. He was living off savings, trying to find a business that would hit traction, until one day, he started posting financial content online. Within thirty days, he had a six-figure follower count. But this wasn’t by luck or accident; it was by design!
Humphrey knew that to start any successful business, it would take testing-a lot of testing. So, he set out to test content that not many other people were making, showing anyone and everyone on the internet what not to buy, the best ways to invest, and how they, too, could become wealthy, or at least not end up broke.
But Humphrey was ONLY able to do this after saving up a significant amount of money from past jobs, going extremely frugal, and realizing that he needed to do whatever it took to work for himself. And if you’re struggling to find your path and feel like being an entrepreneur is what you’re meant to do, Humphrey can help! In this episode, he’ll show you EXACTLY how he “tested” his way to wealth, made financial and entrepreneurial “hypotheses,” and grew an online following to over a million people in just a few years.

Such an unusual journey, but little did he know at the time that the W2 job experience plus his best egg lead to his success in RUclips.

Thank you Humphrey for being an honest and genuine person. I love that you don't sell anything on your youtube channel. When people sell items I tend to hesitate in trusting them. Great inteview.

I'd rather stay with my current employer with a career security and stability, than being an independent business owner and/or contractor since the overhead expenses are already taken care of by the employer. Also, there are regular retirement contributions, health and dental benefits, as well as a support staff for any employee. This removes the financial burden and stress that are prevalent in independent businesses.

Independent business is not for everyone. Its a good idea to stay working for a company if you feel it's right for you.

Good interview. Useful to see how Humphreys path developed and how that is a winning strategy, which Scott explained at the end of the video, and in his book honestly Set for life, frugality followed by entrepreneurship (+ house hacking) = success. Excellent interview and guest
