This is my favorite video so far and I've been watching since you guys started out. It was nice to see you just hanging out and enjoying each other's company. The kayaking was hilarious! 😊
Long before e-payment, my dad taught us kids to never leave the house without some cash in our wallets plus a couple bucks stashed away somewhere in the car. Still do that today, which has served me well over all these years. Maybe have a secret stash of small bills somewhere in your van? Thx for the entertaining video! 😊
@@Vancaskeys Oh I just watched it again on my big screen and it wasn't my rig, but I was parked in a shared spot next to a 5th wheel just like the one in your video. But I was there about 3 weeks ago. Hope to see you on the road someday!
Thank you for thinking about filming and being around neighbors. I think you did an excellent thing by moving so you do not disturb your neighbors. Keep up the great content!
So much fun, except for Hillary's knee. Ouch! It reminds me of the old age guage...when you're young and fall, people point and laugh. If you're old, people rush over to see if you're OK. Bob's in trouble either way on this one! 😉 Great episode!
At the end I now see that you have created in Mr. LEMON the best of both of the Travato models. Twin beds of the K model and dinette of the G models. You now have an awesome never before seen floor plan.
I’ve owned 3 different class B vans and never worry about leveling them. It’s rarely an issue unless the site is at a steep angle where it might cause you to roll off your bed.
Thanks for taking along your adventures! You both are so entertaining. We always look forward to your next video. Liked Bob's goat cheese and pepper jelly concoction. Sounded delicious. He needs to write a camping cookbook.
Great seeing you guys enjoying all your mods! 👍🏼 Hillary is such a good compliment to Bob's adventurous spirit. Hey, you guys should get married or something. 😅 Thanks for sharing your chill time with us!
Great camping spot. We've been there a few times. You didn't make a rookie mistake - Fool Hollow has single and double camping spots. If you want to have a double spot to yourself you pay the $60+ "premium" cost. Hope you enjoyed the beautiful lake. Cheers.
One of our favorite campgrounds, and we will be there next week! We also got a premium spot, and we had to reserve it a year in advance! So hard to get reservations there, unfortunately, but it's a lovely campground and the towns nearby are fun to explore with some great shops and restaurants! If we can't get a site with full hookups, we use their showers and toilets as much as possible. You should try Big Lake next!
Nice video , I'm glad that I found your channel. You two are "fun to hang out with". Looks like Bob gets you both into some interesting circumstances! Like rock climbing instead of a leisurely walk , 🤣 LOL.. You're good people , I like you guys.👍
This was a GREAT VIDEO! Loved learning about the location. Added to my list of new spots to see. Thanks for bringing me along. Can't wait to see your next adventure 😍 Also, the new table is very cool!
And don't forget a roll of quarters for laundry or car wash for muddy vehicles. Also what inflatable kayak and folding camp chair brand? Recommend either? Chairs look comfy and trying to decide on hard or inflatable kayak. Grew up in AZ and cant wait to get back to camping there. Hopefully soon meanwhile will watch your travels!
Omg. Awnings are a safety hazard. My husband and I have both knocked our heads in ours. We have had two different styles on 2 diff trailers! They all are annoying. 🤯 feel better!
We were camping (OK, Glamping) on the Oregon coast one day when my wife was returning to the rig with her head down (in a driving rain) and walked into the edge of the slide-out. I felt the entire rig move and thought she hit us with the dingy. She almost knocked herself out and had a huge bump on her forehead. I really shouldn't have laughed. So, I am just telling you she feels your pain.
I don't think it was a "Rookie" mistake. I would be totally weirded out if I had reservations and someone was already in there. It didn't look like you could have known that you had to share a spot. One of the reasons, why I don't camp much at hook up sites is especially here in AZ it seems, like they are way too close together. We normally find a place to dispeerse camp mostly. That said, I really enjoy your videos. Again I don't think you made a mistake, I would ahve been weirded out too.
Reminds me of the time you guys were in the water at another site and you had trouble getting back to dock and the peddle boat had a string that was supposed to be a rope! 🤣🤣🤣
Haha. I'm the power in the kayak too. My hub-a-dub and I have tried to switch and let me steer....yeah, no. I ran into everything in the river, and being in Florida, some of the things in water have gators on them, under them or being the things. 😜🤣
@@Vancaskeys I will say, don't watch lake placid before going out on the water. 😜🤣. If you do the springs and spring fed rivers like Rainbow River, Crystal river, Ichetucknee river, etc, then the water is so clear the gators can't sneak up on you ...well, they can, but you'll see them easier....and bonus is manatees!
We’ve taken our Promaster to South America to drive around. Campgrounds cost five to twelve bucks a night and facilities vary but more than that and we cannot abide. Getting back to the US and paying sixty five bucks, even for a picnic table and hot showers is unimaginable. Or will take getting used to. Nice fun video thank you.
Sometimes kayaking involves tracking vertically to the wind to make up your distance. It’s an old sailor trick moving sideways to the wind to track alongside your route. In other words, sometimes the longest distance doesn’t require the most energy the wind will push you along.
First, try not to arrive after dark and never at 11:00PM. Thanks for the info on that park. They should state if the site is a buddy site. At over $60/night I hope it was full hook up.
Ya’ll need to pack a propane fire pit for the goto when you do not have wood 😉 That place does seems very nice but a bit on the high end of what we normally pay, but looked like nice times were had. Thank you for sharing.
You should ALWAYS have cash on you! So many events can take out electric, internet, etc ... and cash may be the only way to get going, or pay for help ...
I have done disaster relief work through my church and have found this to be especially true then. Without internet, electronic payments cannot be processed.
- that first spot was weird! It might have worked better if you could pull straight in putting the van door away from neighbors. - The upgrades made this trip better, especially the table. I took your advice and bought the floor mat (which fits the rear bath perfectly).... nice on the feet! - Hillary your aren't alone, I've hit my head on that awning arm multiple times. Of course, the last time I deployed the awning one of the arms fell right off so I guess that's one solution.... oh, wait.
All campgrounds should show detailed pictures of their sites and amenities, no way should you be on the same pad as your neighbor, unless you are there with family or group.
I stayed there last summer. I made sure to read the details and not rent a double site (double the price). Unfortunately, the site right next to (literally 5 feet from me) was a double site with multiple vehicles, tents and people. Not a relaxing weekend. I even left a day early. My plan from now on is to not book more than two nights in state parks.
Absolute insanity the amount of money they charge you have your own hotel with you and there’s no way in HE double toothpicks for a day or even two you’re going to use $60 worth of power or water or use of the facilities. I’ve been on the road over 22 years in one RV or another, never pay that. I have joined Moose Elks and VFW and give them fees for which is about 20 bucks and it helps support their communities. I have solar panels so I really don’t need the electricity.
Hi guys! Love the video! A bit of info for you- research ALL the ingredients on your Oreos… guarantee you won’t eat them again. I do mean look up every ingredient until you get the ultimate answer! It will stun you!!!!!
Wow looked the place up no no rules unspoken or other wise broken when they setup vamp they would have known the site next to them set back could be rented by someone, only in unincorporated camp sites do you try and camp away from others, lol,so funny.
I don’t understand the dual camping spots. They make no sense to me. We would like to camp there but not going to pay $60 bucks for a long camping space. We will camp in nearby BLM and use our pass to visit the park.

Your camper van reminds me of the Winnebago Travato 59g. But that bathroom is on the side. The table extends.
Tack left and right the wind even facing you will push your kayak some
I noticed at the end you were sleeping in the opposite direction. Was there a reason why you switched up? How are you liking the new beds?
Yes! Good eye. We changed it up because it gives us a little more room. We are LOVING the new beds!
Tie a kerchief eye-level on the things you bump your head on and your eye will see it before your head does and you can avoid it.
Alot of camping in california is reservation only. They fill all the spots available. You don't get to pick empty spots as buffers.😂😂
