I was very confused by various lectures on youtube on eye movements, this is the best one explained everything very beautifully by medico. Kudos to the hardwork and pls keep doing great work.
Again, a very nice & comprehensive video😊😊. Ma'am u r quickly becoming the go to channel for every resident, fellow and ophthalmologist. Best wishes. 🙏🙏
In your extraocular muscles part 1 you have explained that the plane of lateral rectus is along lateral wall of orbit so it makes an angle of 45 degrees with visual axis in this video you have said LR is parallel to plane of visual axis so no angle betwenn LR and visual axis pls explain
Thank you for the query! But I am talking about the insertion of the muscles. To avoid confusion...I would clarify this . Yes if you see the whole muscle it does form an angle of 45 degrees with the visual axis. But it you see the insertion it's straight insertion, unlike that of obliques and vertical that are bent at there course. The lateral rectus and medial rectus travel straight to the insertion point. Now if you draw visual axis and LR path it does form an angle..but it's not bending anywhere like the obliques
Ductions help in differentiating a true paralysis (as seen in nerve palsies) from pseudo-paralysis ( as seen in case of cross fixation in infantile esotropia). Versions help in identifying the actual movement limitations in true paralysis as it is easier to overcome a mild muscle weakness by very strong innervational impulse during a duction than during a version.
This is the best lecture for EOM motility I have had in more than a decade of learning and practice. Thanks ma'am.
This channel is a blessing for ophthalmology residents! :D thankyou ma'am!
Best video for eom motility.. Everything else i watched was very confusing .❤❤

Good
I didn't understand how both of vertical recti cause adduction?
Hi! I'm wondering why do we need to check both duction and version? What are the significance of each test?
Ductions help in differentiating a true paralysis (as seen in nerve palsies) from pseudo-paralysis ( as seen in case of cross fixation in infantile esotropia).
Versions help in identifying the actual movement limitations in true paralysis as it is easier to overcome a mild muscle weakness by very strong innervational impulse during a duction than during a version.
