    YES I have been working in SAP five years now. SAP is not easy the curve is rather steep... I never gave up and have doubled my salary in 5 years. I am considered a SME on the application at this point. Yes if you get good at SAP you skip the BS IT JOBS. Honestly SAP will work you hard and challenge you if you are a person who gets frustrated quick then SAP is not for you. THIS VIDEO IS 100% ACCURATE IN THE APPLICATION, VALUE AND DESCRIPTION OF SAP. Salary is around 127k right now.

      What were you doing before starting in SAP though? Do you need a background in IT/CS etc to even land an entry level SAP job? Or, could it just be standalone. What if it's a career manufacturing worker who happens to be an SAP end user? Would getting SAP certification help land a job?

      You do not necessarily need a degree, but you need to make a sure a certification of any kind opens the door and fits where you are in your career. A high-end certification with zero related job experience may raise questions you cannot answer.

    Hi. I have Project Management experience specifically in software delivery. I have worked on applications which are ERP connected and have managed the delivery, ie standing up instances etc for my applications to Go-live. What I do want to move into is more a technical role, I am attracted to SAP but unsure where to start. What’s your best advice. Should I start by looking into SAP and then potentially learning a language , would that be useful if I wanted to be a SAP Project Manager for example?

    • @boomnetta4
      @boomnetta4 5 месяцев назад

      Look into working at Accenture. They have project managers for SAP projects that are highly needed. Accenture also has may programs that can train you on the job to move into a move functional role in SAP unless you want to be more technical which is more coding. Thought I’d comment since I am also in project management and wanting to be a SAP Consultant 😊

    I had a certification in SAP HR
    What do you advice?

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  3 года назад +5

      Quite a few variables to consider. Continue with the education and try to add another certification as it builds up credibility. Find online discussions about SAP (maybe Reddit, a forum, etc.) and start posting helpful and supportive postings, answers to questions, etc. You can also ask questions about difficult scenarios and see who responds and potentially start networking with those individuals. On LinkedIn you can post "blog post" style postings. Spend time researching certain SAP related topics and write about them. Use tags. Look up companies on LinkedIn that post jobs for SAP and reach out to the recruiters and ask for advice... You may have to purchase the LinkedIn premium subscription, but you want to ask these individuals about what they recommend if one wanted to work for them down the road. Polish your message with them. Example: Dear Amy. I noticed your company lists quite a few SAP jobs lately. I am in process of becoming more experienced with SAP and was wondering if you provide me with advice what your company may be looking for in future candidates. I heard great things about XYZ corporation and your last job posting motivated me to reach out. .... You get the idea. It may take a bit to get a response, but it is part of networking and making yourself visible. The recruiter may take notice of you and recommend you internally to a hiring manager. Like everything, it is a numbers game and you need patience and persistence.

    What career path would you recommend for getting into sap consulting?

    • @ITCareerGuide
      @ITCareerGuide  3 года назад +13

      Without knowing your background that is difficult to say. Find some SAP job listings on Indeed or LinkedIn that are SAP related. You may be able to get a clue what they are looking for and then map out a plan on how to become an SAP consultant. The job requirements can be lengthy. Break them apart into smaller pieces. Maybe focus on one industry or area and then go deep there. A role as a business systems analyst may be a good starting point. Then add SAP certifications and develop your skill set accordingly.
      Don't get discouraged. If it would be easy to get such a position and salary, everyone would do it. Nobody gets there by taking shortcuts and many people simply give up too early because they want that high salary now.
