This is my go-to poomsae resource. I’ve watched it all through, in segments, bits and pieces. Over and over! Thank you!

In Koryo during the set of front kicks, why do the hands pull to the belly?
When I received WTF TKD 1st dan in 1995 we pulled the throat striking hand to the hip and left the other hand on the hip as well.
I saw some school kick into the open throat striking hand as well.
In the early 2000s we were told to pull both hands into a guard position as we did the kick.
I'm sorry to say that I think pulling one's hands to the belly, into guard, and even kicking into the open hand all look sloppy. But why are the hands on the belly between techniques?
